If a sister has big tits, does that mean the brother has a big dick?

I don't belive the same genes effect both. However, physically attractive people probably somewhat more often attract the same in their partners, so there's likely a small correlation.
>>
>>8649400

Well, do not ask me how I know this, but I have seen some global heat maps of big dicks and big tits. They seem to be colocated in similar regions. So, based on that observation, I would think there is a pretty good chance that big dicks and big tits are related to similar genetics. Of course, this is all my personal speculation.

African women generally have small tits though.

Did anyone else drop STEM when you realised that brainlets were better than you at solving problems in a limited time frame setting but you could never do that because science really makes you think and you either understand a concept to its core or you drop it harder than a brick and the vastness of the topics combined with the small time period you need to complete the "syllabus" makes it virtually impossible to do so but this action has potentially destroyed your chances of getting into a good uni and in turn brutally raped your life to death?

Go to a community college and put in the work. Stop making excuses and pull yourself up by the bootstraps. Finishing a college degree is far more about will power and effort than innate intelligence. Dont fall for the low-self esteem meme.

what do you mean it will remove emotion? how do you know it will remove emotion? how does the removal of emotion hurt academic work?

just take adderall OP. the only people that are against using it are anti-drug weenies

Hi /sci/, I was wondering what are your thoughts on this matter.

What do you think about the existence of "philosophy of science"?

I believe science is self-contained and since Karl Popper it has acquired a level of philosphical validity hard to refute by opposite end philosophers (idealists, spiritualists, solipsists, etc). And since then, scientists or science enthusiasts have had that sense of knowledge privilege, meaning they believe to have the means to achieve truth.

Do you think science conquered epistemology?

Disclaimer: I know this is philosophical debate, but since it involves the questioning of science as a foundation for describing reality, I figured it was relevant.

How do you think this relates to science itself? Is it safe to assume that science is the ultimate framework?

Are aliens slimy?
>>
>>8649146
All aliens are coated in a viscous gel-like fluid. The compounds vary from life form to life form. There is only one type of alien that doesn't have a slimy layer AMD that's the Negaslimoids of Sector 6,899,765B-Area 232รง
>>
Well I have a small number of theories on what and how aliens will work on a biological level.
This may take several posts.

Firstly you need you focus on the planet its self. If the planet has smaller desnity than earth and has less than 1G then they will be significantly weaker. Their muscles and bones will be weaker than ours.
If the planet is denser and has more than 1G then they will most likely be stronger than humans.
Our planets gravitatonal pull is quite strong considering it harbors life. Any stronger and rocket propelled space traveled would be nearly impossible.
For xenos to be able to travel in space they would either be weaker and use rockets or stronger and have more advanced tech.

This paragraph is hard to word and difficult to explain in text.

i really cant get behind the idea that computer science is a subset of mathematics, at least not the way it's being taught nowadays

the most mathematics that's worked into cs is maybe a little set and graph theory, and if you take higher level electives some group theory

Have you ever felt that you were able to understand the world better after learning, for example, thermodynamics, even in topics totally unrelated to chemistry and physics? Have you ever noticed that the "patterns & structures of thought" seem to repeat themselves in science, philosophy, and even literature?

What about encountering books that were substantial enough to affect your life after thinking and applying its ideas? Do you consider a certain text to be "foundational" for those in pursuit of knowledge?

I'm hoping to create a list of 15-20 books, in a variety of subjects, that will increase clarity & depth of thought, leaving autodidacts with the mental faculties necessary to tackle future challenges. I would also like to have this list of books be sufficient to achieve a cursory education for people looking to improve their knowledge beyond the dregs of their high school or college education, though this isn't as important.

I need to keep the scope limited to the fundamentals. There are far more than 20 worthwhile books, and this isn't a definitive guide to "the best books ever". Some fields like "economics" may already require proficiency in basic fields like history, mathematics, and philosophy, so it would be redundant to cover include them. Only the bare necessities should be maintained for brevity.

That is my shortlist.

There are some basic topics that I feel like might need more coverage, like algorithms & advanced logic, computer & data science, statistics, natural and social sciences, psychology, world history, government, history of ideas, communication, poetry & music theory, hermeneutics, esoterics & mysticism, semantics & semiotics, reference materials, and books on rigorous writing. Of course, there's also practical living that might be useful to consider as well. You're not smart unless you've built something with your hands, in my opinion.

Otherwise, I think this roughly covers the "breadth" of all of the structures of thought possible for the mind with sufficient depth. It would also give you a passable education, though better curation might improve the final outcome.

Thanks for your time. What are some other books that might be helpful here?

Why does adding up a bunch of numbers and dividing that figure by the amount of numbers equate to an average?

What exactly is an average? Is it another made up mathematical concept?
38 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It's a generalization of finding the middle of two points. (a+b)/2 which is trivial and easy to understand

An easy generalization of this is (a+b+c)/3, (a+b+c+d)/4, etc
>>
>>8648785
All you are stating is that an average is an average. You're just repeating the definition.

When did you realise mathematical axioms don't actually exist?!

Hello, guys. I am looking for people who scored 90% and better on GRE Subject Math. How long did it take to get prepared? What literature and websites helped you the best? Eventually, which grad school have you entered? Need some feedback for self-consolation.

It does not matter how much you scored absolutely, since many people may get the same score and it will acount for worse percentile. Top grad schools usually evaluate us in terms of percentiles. Btw, which one have you entered?

Question for biofags. Reading this book now, but it's 40 years old. Did it stood the test of time? What's currently accepted theory on the level that natural selection works upon (gene, individual, group...)? Or is it all more or less just opinions and dick-measuring contests.

Nice poem.

But what does it *mean*?

Hint: it doens't always apply. Sometimes natural selection works on populations/species, and sometimes evolution works on individuals. The more you know.
>>
Evolution is completely conjecture. It is the worst scientific theory out there, that pretty much indoctrinates the believer into an atheistic stance.

Walk away OP, walk away.

Or you could be like James Randi and offer them a million dollars if they can prove any of it. Because, if it is only a power that they are aware of and cannot show anyone else, then that's called imagination.
>>
Your attacking a strawman, OP. Among "spiritual people" there is a huge variety. There's morons who think crystals are magic and homeopathy work, but there's also people who are simply seeking to better understand themselves and the universe though an inward practice of some sort.
>>
>>8648342
Yeah, but those people won't try to tell you about it. I once open-mindedly read on some Buddhist texts and I think that there's something to them, but I'd never shill it to another person who isn't interested.
