Cool. How do you 'take care of exports'? Do you do this discreetly? Does this involve private planes? What precautions, if any, do you have to take to ensure safe transport?

Fahrenheit is the superior system for all measurements. There's actually a lot more you can do with Fahrenheit, and it's created specifically for human purposes.
For example, we generally judge air temperatures in decades, like high/low 60's, or 80's. Given a decade, any American can determine the ambient temperature with great certainty.
Also, it can be used to calculate salinity of water, given that saturated brine freezes at 0°F, and freshwater at 32°F. Percentages of salinity are at even intervals between the numbers, so 50% saturation of salt water would freeze at 16°F. 100°F is also the average human body temperature, between resting & active states.
The system is calibrated for US miles as well. Water boils at 212°F at sea level, but for every mile of elevation the temperature drops ~6°F, so if given elevation one can determine exactly at what temperature the water is boiling.
They don't really teach all of this in schools anymore, which is a shame because our system is a source of national pride & is actually very useful to both scientists & laymen. All of these features have no parallel in Celsius, which only has the simplicity of a centigrade system & freshwater at sea level. There's really no reason for Celsius to be the world standard, other than "hurr durr dumb Americans".

Wow, these advantages are SO IMPORTANT
>>
There's no reason that fahrenheit is particularly useful. But neither is there for Celsius. Both are pretty arbitrary and determined by the freezing points of water in various circumstances. Outside of the context of water there is no advantage at all for either one, and even within the context of water it still doesn't offer any advantage. Setting 0 as the freezing point is only advantageous to retarded euros who can't remember any number other than 0. Setting 0 to a mixture of equal weights of ammonium chloride, ice, and water seems far more convoluted than the previous one, but in effect it's the same because there IS no effect.

Fahrenheit is the only American unit that I sort of enjoy more than the global standards.

I just like that the range is spread out a little more so it feels more descriptive.

I am American though, so I am biased.

Cool tricks OP. Thanks for sharing.

There isn't a monolithic answer to this question. It's as varied as there are mathematicians. You'll have people whose parents forced them to do maths 10+ hours a day and who end up being very prolific and have people who do math <4 hours a day and have a very rich life outside of math who also end up very prolific.

Neurobio major psych minor
4 years of bench research in pain and itch sensation was fun. Doing clinical research on kids with right hemiparetic cerebral palsy with normal language. The kicker is that if you fuck up someone's left hemisphere in adulthood, they lose significant language ability. But these kids with fucked left brains have been able to reorganize their cortex to accomidate eloquent structures from literally masses of neurons with ambiguous function. The brains remold themselves dramatically.

Tldr, no matter what the study, neuro is fucking fascinating.
>>
>>8646084
The science is interesting, but messy. As someone who looks at MRI scans, the same parts of the brain seems to be implicated somewhat in every cognitive process (and there are usually not enough people in a cohort to be sure about your findings, so different cohorts can give different results). It's very hard to point to activation areas and say "based on this, such and such is happening", and to get to that point we're going to need more sophisticated analysis methods like deep learning, and bigger cohorts.

So, climate change has become a highly politicized issue and that has made the truth, at least for a layman like me, difficult to discern.

My main problem lies in that I am not adequately knowledgeable about climate science to be qualified to form opinions about climate change. Hence, I am reliant on reputable authorities on the issue to tell me what stance should be taken based on evidence. Since, to my knowledge, the majority of climate scientists advocate for anthropogenic climate change, I am compelled to do the same.

However, many people, that I must assume are more knowledgeable about the subject than me, claim that climate change is a natural part of long term weather patterns and that there is no evidence supporting anthropogenic climate change. I've also seen claims that, due to the central position of climate change in politics, there is monetary incentive for climate scientists to advocate for athropogenoc climate change, and that is why this appears to be the consensus among that community.

So, what stance is the logical conclusion to come to based on the evidence we have? Is there adequate evidence to assert that climate change is a result of human action?

Temp-sunspot-co2.svg.png

I'm glad you have an open mind and are looking to inform yourself before making conclusions, but the way the msm refers to as climate change is completely unrelated to natural processes. I say this as our planet is currently in a milankovitch cycle that's further away from the sun than normal, with decreased solar activity (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_activity_and_climate#/media/File:Sunspot-temperature-10000yr.svg), leading us to expect lower temperatures than the average Holocene trend. On the other hand, the opposite is happening, with an absurd rise in temperatures occurring on a short timescale literally unseen since an asteroid hit the earth 65 million years ago. There is no need for consensus about the laws of physics in this day and age, it's been mathematically proven for quiet a while, and these laws explain the processes behind this rise in global temperature is due to the expression of the greenhouse effect in response to increased carbon production as a byproduct of a petroleum powered economy for the past two centuries. You can read up about it here, it's pretty basic stuff: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenhouse_effect

Remember weather =/= climate

I never understood the monetary gain for any researchers or advocates for climate change awareness, as I spent a lot of lab hours as a volunteer at times, and couldn't care less about how much I made. There's money incentives in any field, if you go into the sciences, and especially the now underfunded (EPA cuts) climate sciences for money you're beyond delusional.

The only debate lies in the time frame we will face the consequences of climate change, which is dependent on the flux in carbon emissions due to a changing political climate, so estimates are varied, as energy has become more political than economic now if you ask me. The science is done, but our response to it far from over.

I know this because I'm involved in oceanic research, so I'm pretty familiar with climate science.
