>Why is this allowed to happen?

Mathematics at the high school and early college level is, in my opinion, a purity test.

What are they testing for? They are looking for the percentage of non-retardation in your brain.

Look, I study mathematics at my university and contrary to that author my "shitty requisites that want to prevent me from furthering my studies!" are the humanities. I have always been shit at writing classes in high school. I was a mediocre student at anything that was not math and yet I have passed every class of that manner with a B.

But you cannot do the contrary. You cannot pass a basic algebra class, like I passed a basic writing class in uni. Why is that? Because mathematics is the only topic you cannot cheat.

In my writing classes I simply tried to memorize some nice words and patterns and then pretty much faked that I was a "well-read writer" in the final and got myself a nice B. Writing like I never had before.

You can't do that for mathematics, for some reason. You have to earnestly be smart and responsible but you aren't. You aren't smart nor responsible and that is why you fail mathematics.

Go cry those brainlet tears somewhere else.

yes it will fly

the treadmill literally can't do shit to stop the plane, the plane's wheels are frictionless thus the tread mill no matter how fast it spins cannot stop the forward thrust of the plane's turbines
>>
>>8550823
But here's the thing, the plane needs the wheels to roll on in order to gain it's velocity but it's always counteracted by the belt
>>
>>8550805
The question is ambiguous, and possibly nonsensical. The question presumes that the running belt is holding the plane stationary, but provides no mechanism for that to actually happen. Probably the safest "realistic" answer is yes, the plane can take off and the belt will simply spin up the wheels, though that breaks the "exactly match the speed of the wheels" part of the question.

I know this is entry level chemistry and that you’re going to make fun of me, but how do you solve these things ? It's in every single exam but I can't find any explanation in my course. I have tried many different ways to solve this but there's always an exception in one of the tables, so to me it just seems inconsistent, like in the last table I don’t get how [Fe..]2+ has the same configuration as [Fe..]4-

Does the electronic configuration change if it’s about “d orbitals” (like fig 1 and 3) or "d electrons" (like fig 2) ?

The text in black is what's given, the text in red is what we have to fill in.
pls send help

You're thinking about it the wrong way. Both complexes have Fe in a 2+ oxidation state. Its just that H2O contributes 0 where as CN contributes -1 making the overall configurations 2+ and 4- respectively. You then have to look at the ligand field strength. CN is a very strong ligand meaning these complexes are generally low spin (electrons are paired as much as possible i.e only the t2g orbitals are occupied) where as H20 is a much weaker ligand allowing the complex to be high spin so by Hund's rule you fill all the orbitals sequentially before pairing i.e the eg orbitals are filled before the t2g are doubly filled. Hope this makes some sort of sense!
>>
>>8559198
Remember that having Fe 2+ means there are only 6 d electrons in the complex

Why do we compare everything to the average value? Statistically vise, of course. How relevant is the "average" value? It doesn't exist anyway.

Why does it work, i want to know why does it manage to work and give us reliable results?

Is there any logic to compare a human trait in such a way, just because it forms normal distribution?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>8558858
it's usually easy to understand from a human perspective
>>
>>8558858
An average has the most meaning over significantly many trials, especially if the results are aggregated over time.
One of the principle results of stochastics is that if you take the sum of results from the same distribution over significantly many times, the sum will be approximated by a normal distribution.

If every day, you have a chance at winning a random amount of money. You take this chance every day for the next couple of years, then the total amount of money you could end up with follows approximately with a normal distribution.
Not only that, but the average amount of that distribution is actually the most probable amount that you end up with as a result.

This does not hold for cases of short term experimentation/trials. In those cases, the distribution is more likely to dominate and make the average value less likely to happen or even less likely to be relevant.

The reason we often compare things on average is because we are usually comparing quantities of the first sort: longstanding aggregate quantities which pull from the same distribution each time they mature.

look at the law of large numbers and the central limit theorem.

as far as "human traits" it depends. eugenics proponents love to talk about "averages" but no one wants to be the guy that gets culled

Are there any examples of animals preferring something which is less than optimal because it's more common and easier to acquire? For example, preferring a less nutritious variety of nut which is more common than another more nutritious variety?

Both of these things are the opposite of what is being suggested. The answer OP is no, there is no such thing in nature. When you really think about it it makes no sense of all anyways. You will always prefer "better" things but getting "less better" things is a consequence of less energy needed to get it, not preference for that thing. But also this is referring to food, and you are a NEET trying to reference group psychology in some cancer thread on the other side of the universe.

Ok /sci/ - I need you to explain this, as one anon to another

because...

http://glq.dukejournals.org/content/20/4/439.abstract

>Black Anality

Abstract:
>“Black Anality” argues that “black” and “anal” are rendered ideologically, discursively, and representationally synonymous, and that black female flesh becomes the material space on which this convergence occurs. Drawing on an archive of online, widely accessible black pornographies, I develop the term black anality to describe how black pleasures are represented as peculiarly and particularly oriented toward the anus, and thus as peculiarly and particularly attached to anal ideologies. In doing so, I depart from black feminist scholarship, which has long examined the buttocks as an imagined locus of racial-sexual difference and which has developed a set of analytics that now predominate in the study of black female sexualities: spectacularity, excess, grotesquerie, and display. “Black Anality” offers a new set of analytics for black feminist work on sexuality: spatiality, waste, toxicity, and filth. These analytics, I argue, allow black feminists to consider how black female sexuality is imagined to be rooted in (and perhaps generative of) certain kinds of filthy spaces, particularly the ghetto; how black sexuality is constructed as literally and metaphorically dirty; how black sexuality is posited as toxic, non-productive, and nonreproductive; and how black sexuality is imagined as wasteful. In turning attention to this understudied and overdetermining space — the black anus — “Black Anality” considers the racial meanings produced in pornographic texts that insistently return to the black female anus as a critical site of pleasure, peril, and curiosity.

>What kind of madness is this?

It is called feminism.

Feminists are... weird. I would compare it to a rebel militia who opposed a government but then, to achieve peace, are invited to join the government and are given some sits in parliament to legitimize their new political party.

Imagine that happened... but the rebel militia kept their armed people and kept conducting terrorists attacks, even after being recognized as a fellow political party and given honest political power.

That is what happened. Feminists were always publishing this madness but originally it was just about getting the vote and whatever. Then the governments came and said "Ok, you get to vote and now every right will be given to citizens, not only males."

At that point, feminism should have been banned. Absolutely banned. Because feminism won. In other words, after given them political power, we should have taken their more radical and violent form of power, which is feminist """research""".

But for some reason we didn't ban feminism and now we have feminists on one side with honest political power, as government officials, and on the other side feminists with dishonest political power. Those political activists that claim all men are pigs and for some reason have a large following of other feminists.

Feminism should be banned.
