The dark expanse of space stretches infinitely, a black desert only broken up by glittering specks of light. Most of these are stars, planets, and other celestial bodies... However, many happen to be the glow of engines, the reflections of light off polished hulls, and the shine of beam weaponry as they prime to fire.

Beneath this view, a team of men and women scramble around, shouting to each other as they try to make sense of the battle they find themselves the focal point of. Without warning, an explosion rips through the vessel they're on, and screens around the room flash.

"Main mirror shields offline! Secondary shields are at half power!"

"Thrust Core B isn't responding! Beginning ejection process!"

"Spiral Lance Batteries two and three are overloaded! Unable to fire for three minutes!"

You finally step forward after drawing your cape closely around you. Your group's symbol is emblazoned on the back, and you want to remind everyone of what they're here for.

"Hold fast, people! We've barely even begun to fight!" You stand before the massive curved panes that simulate being on the edge of the ship's deck, with the fabric of space seeming to wrap around you. The effect is not lost on the crew, who immediately stare at you. You grin, and turn dramatically to them...

Welcome to DCAQ, In our last issue we met up with our father and he began to tell us of our origins. We currently are flashing back to 1981 when our parents worked as soldiers of fortune alongside some of DCs most infamous assassins and mercs.

As for rules, there will be options after most updates to vote on. The option with the most votes wins after 10 minutes or a specified amount of time. I may call a vote early if I am prepared with the writing and it becomes overwhelmingly in favor of 1 option. Some action require rolls on a 1d100 crits on 1-2 and 99-100, I will call for a roll after an option has won and only the first 3 rolls after I call it count. Write ins are always welcome, I have veto power on them and may assign a roll. With all that said let's get this show on the road.

“Straight to business then, I like that” Asim states. “Here is the 10% advance I promised” As he says this a handler approaches with 2 briefcases and hands them both to Wilson, who inspects them and seems to approve. “Now if there is nothing else It's time we begin, good luck on your mission”.

You are all guided back to the APC and depart for the nearest airfield.

You read the mission briefing, it all seems pretty straightforward. The temple is at the base of a large mountain, the jewel should be in the main temple hall inside a protective sarcophagus. There are around 80 monks there at any given time and about 50 can be considered combatants. Beyond that the methods are up to you.

“We will employ classic diversionary tactics.” Wilson speaks “Morrison will lead a team consisting of Steele and one more of his choice to infiltrate the compound while the rest of us mount an assault at the front gate. Morrison will signal when he has secured the Jewel and our pilot and equipment man Martin will extract him and his team with the target while the assault team pulls back, we then make immediately for khandaq and collect our reward.”

Lawton looks at you funny when Wilson said you would lead the extraction team but seems to accept the decision based on your infiltration expertise. Martin looks back from the driver's seat of the APC and remains silent as he always does, you think you've only heard his voice through the radio even though you've been in his presence on almost every mission.

“Morrison you and your team will be taking a standard infiltration loadout, This includes rifles, silenced pistols, NVG, gas and smoke grenades, C4 charges, communications equipment, and light body armor. Is there anything else from the armory you require and who do you choose to be your third man. Keeping in mind some here are more suited to stealth than others and more equipment means more weight.”

Jacob’s quest is a story-based game (I.E. no dice rolling required for the most part) where you take the role of a 15 boy recently taken in by a crew of pirates. As a group you will control the actions of Jacob Sarnelli. You should all put your suggestions of routes to take but should come to a general consensus on what to do. It’s not complicated, we’re coming up with the story together.


“Wake up, kid”

You look up to see a short man in a striped shirt, he has a long nose and a plump round body, and a devious smile. He’s in a small boat right by the shore, out in the distance you see a much larger ship

“Come on, kid, we don't got all day, you wanna get off this shit-heap or what?”

You stand up and look around, you’re on a rather small Island, wearing tattered clothes. You don’t remember how you got here, but you do remember who you are…

“Hey! Get in, what’s your name anyway”

You step into the boat “my name’s Jacob” - AH! Your head thuds, you have a pounding headache, “Jacob Sarnelli”

“Dave” the man replies as he starts rowing your small boat out to the ship, “So, how’d you end out here?”

That still isn’t coming to you, you do remember your life for the most part. You grew up on a small island with your mother, younger sister and older brother, you got pretty average grades, and had a rather uneventful life. More than just how you got here, but the past week or so is just missing.

You look up and he’s staring at you

“OH! Uh, I don’t remember...My head is pounding”

“Something tells me those have a shared cause” Dave snickers “A lost little boy with amnesia on an island with nothing. Catherine's gonna love this!”

You get to a ship and see it belongs to a band of pirates. You’re led, by dave to the captain of this ship. You are presently in front of a tall, lanky woman, with short red hair, and a peg leg. She’s missing one of her front teeth and has rather small breasts. She wears a leather coat and a tricorn hat.

Dan speaks from behind you “We got the boy, captain, what now”

“Now,” She speaks with a heavy cockney accent “ You get outta’ ‘ere and let me’ speak wit’ the lad.”

Dan lets you to alone and she looks at you, waiting for you to start….

Honestly, it isn't any specific year. This isn't a time in real-world history. For the most part we have technology from around the 1600's. This isn't in our world for the sake of wanting more women characters (so yes in this world women can be shop-captians but it still is not comomon)

Quest Intro

You are Mikage Chiba, second year high school student, fifteen years old. You used to be the third woman to carry the mantle of the magical guardian of love and justice known as Sailor Moon, after your mother and older sister. A year and a half ago you had a traumatic experience fighting the corpse of the father of your best friend, struggled victory leaving you thinking you had killed the
man you had set out to save and prompting you to abandon your heritage. More than that, the relating emotional collapse lead you to abandoning yourself. Developing disguises and personas to inhabit and do the things you could not in secret, to live while you let yourself wither, you carried on.

Now you know the truth and have been taking measures to put yourself back together, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. More than that you’ve been doing your best to support your younger sister, Koyomi, as she has become the fourth to carry the title as Sailor New Moon.

Quest Start

“How rude,” the gray uniformed Kalunite clicks his tongue and lethargically raises a hand toward the helicopter above, “Don’t they know people are sleeping down here?”

You tense in worry with your arms protectively around the still unconscious civilian, your friend Hanako Minami whose recent transformation into a monster was moments ago resolved. You wade in water just below your knees in a public park in Tokyo’s Midtown. Sailor New Moon stands beside you, bracing for the worst as resolve crosses her face.

On the bank of the pond, a wave of this seemingly lackadaisy villain’s power has rendered a number of your allies unconscious. Only Sailor Mars, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Sol, and Zoisite Knight remain standing.

Brilliant energy begins coalescing in his outstretched and white gloved hand. There is a stillness in this moment, not drowning in a killing intent. Instead this undead creature is treating the human life he is about to take as an afterthought. As though it isn’t worth the effort he is so clearly about to take.

In the guise of Eclipse, you have seconds to react. Koyomi’s eyes widen and you know she is going to intervene as well...but you carry the burden of an innocent.

That is a name that was a household name in Somalia before suitfall. And now that Somalia is more or less the same lawless place that makes no difference now. Hanse has taken you all 4 miles away from from the old UN airbase the warlord has taken over. Just shy of 10 RNG and away from anything antimissile defenses can't handle at the coast of the city. The target being the air base at the other end of the city that.... Is pretty much emptied by the spread rumors of an attack that was to be today. You fall backwards on to the septs of the escalator and cover your face with your hands. You try your best to pretend this isn’t real, but you know better. Once you look up, you’ll see Jordan’s body is still there and you know what that means. You hear someone running to you from the 4th floor, but you don’t look up. You hear people running along the 3rd floor to you, but you don’t look up. You hear their reactions and screams, but you don’t look up. Finally, you feel a hand placed on your shoulder and look up. Reginald is standing over you looking down upon the crime scene. He opens his mouth as if he wants to say something, but closes it without a word.

Looking around, you see that everyone has gathered around Jordan’s body, but not one of them has made any effort to investigate it yet. Slowly, Svetlana reaches forward to examine the body, but freezes when a loud buzzer sounds throughout the mall. “Stop right there!” says the mechanical voice that you’ve grown to hate. From atop the escalator Monoscrap looks down upon all of you. With surprising skill, the bear jumps into the air and lands a few feet from the body. “Nobody do anything! This crime scene is off limits! Not one of you are to investigate it or talk about the murder to anyone until tomorrow morning.”

“Tomorrow?! Why do we have to wait so long?” Chuck says angrily. “We need to find the killer before he can strike again.”

Monoscrap sighs. “I have my reasons for putting the investigation and trial off till tomorrow, but if it helps you, I’ll forbid any more killing this round. This is an unusual situation and giving you kids the security of a no murder for 24 hours is the least I can do. Anyway, anyone who does any investigation, tampering, or even talking about the murder will be gagged and forbidden from taking place in the trial. We all know how disastrous it could be to not participate, so I think that is a good reason to not disobey me.” Monoscrap then waddles off snickering.

>What is Shadowrun?

Shadowrun is an RPG series set in the world of 2072, 60 years after "The Awakening", the return of magic, spirits, and fantasy races into the world. Metahumanity now lives in a world of advanced technology and magic, where megacorporations are above the laws of nations and one-third of all humanity have no legal rights. Crime and corruption run amok, and mercenary operatives known as "shadowrunners" ply their services to both the criminal underworld, and to the very corporations that officially fight against them.

A number of d6's are rolled equal to the relevant attribute+the relevant skill. 5's and 6's are successes, and the dice are rolled against a target threshold (1 for something trivial; 6 for a highly difficult /intricate task. 10 for something next-to-impossible). Each 6 rolled results in one additional die being rolled in the pool. Results are as follows:

Target number of successes is met: the action is a success.

You will have 2 points of Edge each "session" that you can spend to tip the scales in your favor. When requesting an action, you may specify that you want to spend a point of Edge to add "luck" or "effort" to a roll. "Luck" will add five dice to the roll's pool (great for situations where Redd is forced to work out of his depth). "Effort" will re-roll all failed dice on a roll if it does not meet the threshold, glitches, or critically glitches (the point will be refunded if none of these happen). This is good when you are playing to Redd's strengths, but want to make sure you don't botch something.

Likes: MMO gaming, decking, the occult, "me time", you (in a platonic way). Dislikes: violence, being overworked, Lance, himself. Mildly depressed.

Right now, including you, The Vice-Admiral and I,’ he lets out a grim sigh, wiping his brow, ‘we only have an active operating capacity of half a gross of KanMusu and six KanMusu Divisions as a whole.’

‘I didn’t think that it was that bad.’

You’d suspected, of course… but the fact that the numbers had diminished so hugely was still a surprise. More than anything, you’re aware just how much on its last legs The Admiralty was.

‘Last I checked, though, he was given a few good guns to steady the ship,’ The Admiral gives a reassuring beam, ‘so you should be fine so long as you stick to your assignments and don’t cross stations or break off from each other. We’re not so much big fans of synergy this time – it might as well be two operations given the scale – but don’t get in each other’s way. From what I gather he’s got one of the five – now six, with Musashi – active heavy-hitters left transferred to him so he should shore up anything you didn’t.’

‘Any chance I’ll be able to meet him up for drinks before the assignment?’ It would be nice if you could get things in order, but you had the stinking feeling that –

‘You’ll be joining up on-site.’ The Admiral answers briskly. ‘You’ll be taking the RAY up the block; the orders are as they are – no hidden agendas, no secrets. We’re running defense and offense against a heavy force. My only warning from this end is that you stick to your orders; do not expand your Division more than necessary.’

That, of course, went without saying.
