You’ve since resolved to rendezvous with Crow and the others at the nearest entrance to Tethiss’s Claw, high above. You’ve equipped some different gear, as well – trading out what of your equipment suffered the curse to whatever else you have on hand. Currently, you wield your old scimitar and wear leather boots; additionally, you slide the earthsea royal signet ring onto one of the fingers of your right hand, feeling a momentary humming in your mind upon doing so.
Thus, you depart up the slopes from the Calamity Rift.
“I’m not convinced.”
There’s a long, deliberate stall. You pause in your tracks and look over your shoulder at Freya, who cocks an eyebrow at you, folding her arms.
“You’re not convinced about what, now?” She asks.
“You’re inviting me to join Freakshow, and I’m not really feeling the pitch.” You respond, giving a dismissive gesture. “You haven’t really told me why I should get involved with you – just why I shouldn’t get involved with the Alliance. You’re not lacking confidence, are you?”
“What? Never.” Freya responds. “I’m marketing to my target audience – you just happen to be a hard sell. How else could someone rub shoulders with the likes of both the Guardians and the Writ Keepers and remain guildless? I merely didn’t want to waste time feeding you impertinent information. But, if you prefer…”
“That’s enough. What does your guild actually want to achieve?” You ask. “Because orchestrating an attack on Averron City was not exactly what I’d call good PR.”
“That was a regrettable incident, yes.” She looks unperturbed. “Anaximander was rather heavy-handed in his approach – though he wanted to make a statement, and was rather successful in doing so. To be quite honest? I’m not even sure I understand now what he once hoped to achieve. The fact of the matter, though, is that we’ve secured peace.”
>>980053
“You’ve secured peace?” You shoot her an incredulous look.
“Averron at large now knows the consequences of player-versus-player combat. They understand how to conduct themselves in matters where the Nameless are concerned,” She glances at you with a grin. “Most important, though, is that they have someone to fear.”
She scoffs when your expression doesn’t change. “No one wants to hear the truth,” she continues. "You must admit: what we represented then does well now to keep the population of this place away from each others' throats."
“Peace in Averron is tenuous at best.” You respond. "Still."
“Is that the way you see it?” Freya asks. “From my point of view, things have been rather stable. In fact, the only one who’s made a power play thus far is Liza.”
You shake your head. You don’t really have a lot to say to that one. An icy tingling runs across the back of your head from ear to ear a moment later, indicating that your Artifact is once again ready for use. It’s an exhausting climb, but the mouth of the cave you departed from to this deep, hellish branch of the Underground is just a ways further overhead. You think you can hear voices...
How will you pass the last of the time?

The life you lived as a human, up to this very point, was a simulation designed to keep Daemons such as yourself alive between each trade route in the cosmos. You are not a slave, but you might as well be one.
You are a Daemon. You have no mind and you were bred to kill. Daemons are mindless soldiers who strikes fear in the heart(s) of every inhabitant among the numerous universes.
Daemons are not a race, but an army of many different species. Humans, Graymen, Anthropomorphic, etc.
Daemons are mindless due to their neuron-chip, which stops all process of information into the brain and makes whomever with the 'chip a semi-vegetable - no cognitive thinking but natural survival instincts..
You are being held in a huge ship called The Hamlet. Transport Bay 12, Hydro-Hallucinstasis Pod 47.
However, something's wrong. Very wrong. You are no longer being affected by the mind-numbing water
---
>Be Daemon 1247
You are now Daemon 1247 and you are stuck in the Hydro-Hallucinstasis Pod.
You cannot see past the tinted face mask, which doesn't make a difference since you can't you see past the Pod's glass if you wanted to. Mask or not.
You are wearing nothing but underwear and a face mask that supplies dwindling oxygen. The mask's pressure on your face isn't holding, you can feel the cold water barely touching the edges of your face. Very soon you will have a oxygen facemask full of water and you will drown. Your oxygen facemask is connected to a tube that is latched onto the side of the pod; it is a one way vent, only air goes in.
Based on a rough estimate, you have twelve minutes before you either run out of oxygen or your mask gives way and you drown.
What will Daemon do?
A better picture of original post.

A dark hotel room, the blinds on the windows shut tight so not even a speck of light could pass through and banish the shadows filling the cramped space with discolored pink wall paper. Every piece of furniture, including the two beds are laid against the door leading out into the moving, living world. The tv buzzes with static, turning on as three, nearly identical girls turn to it, all wearing the same plain white the dress
The new source of light shows the web of red strings that fill the room, running from wall to floor to ceiling, filling the room
"Another legend is rising back into this modern world' the tallest one, spinning string out of her delicate, and manicured fingers said softly, almost sounding bored "To be reborn anew"
"Will we use the same thread as her last life, sister?" the one next to her said, reaching into a bag of chips as she guide the thread with feathered wings "It was such a wonderful story"
"Tch" A little girl huffed, snapping her oversized scissors impatiently "Who cares about that, will she die the same way?"
"Be patient, we can't cut the thread yet, we need to weave it first" the eldest said angrily "even if she does not follow it this time"
The little girl gritted her teeth, as the middle sister chuckled and continue on her work as the light faded from the tv's screen.

It was a bright and cheery day, the sun high in the sky and the birds and harpies singing to each other above the humble little doctor's office.
A glowing red sign wrapped in Christmas lights, like a coiling Lamia shined dully in the early morning light.
"Faust's Specialized Medical treatment and care for monster girls"
It read proudly, Christmas decorations and snow covering the sidewalk outside of it and its roof. A wooden sign proclaimed "Free
Diagnosis for Echidna Virus/ Charybdis disease/ Cryptid fever inside!"
A cheesy Christmas tune played inside, One of the most popular of the year "A Monsterous Christmas". A harpy with a broken wing tried to chirp along to it, her mother protectively guarding her from a frost bitten Lamia wrapped up in electrical blankets. A nurse tried to pull her pen out of a slime girl's hand, chasing her down the hallway, slipping on the trail she left behind on the wooden floors. A snail girl peeked out of her shell curiously as an old man with a beard that would make old saint nick proud caught the young nurse, setting the folder in his hand aside. He smiled as he helped her up
"Try to be more careful" He said in a grandfatherly tone"Especially around the slimes"
The young, blond haired woman nodded, red slime dripping down her messy hair as the doctor smiled, looking down the line of his various patients, most of them were monster girls of all shapes, sizes and types. He smiled as he walked past all of them.
He stopped, standing next to the human patients he had today. Opening his folder, he frowned
Three of them had tested positive for the disease.
cont
>>979788
Within a month, all three would fully transform into a monster girl. A very difficult and stressful change, no doubt. The doctor put on a fake smile, closing his folder as he walked up to his first patient of the day, as a wolf girl walked head first into a wall behind him, bouncing off of it because of the cone on her neck.

Recap: You are ANON, the RED JOKER.
This is the end of your tale.
>>979075
(Gentlemen - For this episode, I'm doing something a little different: The attached PDF is a wireframe for Joker's current status. As I'm sure long-time readers have been wondering, the system functions as follows: Joker Quest relies on a locational damage system. When a location is destroyed, any excess damage 'overflows' to the target's torso - For instance, landing a hit on a 'destroyed' arm counts as landing a hit on the torso. When the torso or head is destroyed, the target dies.
As you can see, the system ensures that most attacks - Unless specifically aimed - strike the target's torso, prioritizing the arms above the legs.
Good luck, gentlemen - It's been a long, strange road to get here, and I'm eager to see how it ends.
Note that due to FOREBODE's effect, Joker automatically has the initiative in the final battle.)

With the contents of my skull still proving uncooperative I'm unable to run a regular H&D thread.CT Scan is Jan 19 so no thread sooner than that.I don't want to just stay on hiatus for more than a full month so I've decided to go with a world building thread. General Q&A is welcome.
While this is setting development I don't feel up to arguing that on /tg/ right now so sticking to /qst/ for this.
Getting updates done on the wiki is also a priority. I'm considering new tags for some articles. First and foremost is one for ships built out of parts from other ships. Kitbashed fighter designs in Star Wars are (or were) called Uglies. Should H&D ships with similar origins just be called a kitbash, or something more related to salvage?
There was also an anon asking about making a setting timeline with major events. The question with those is always oldest events to newest or newest to oldest?
>>976448
A shame I wont be able to participate in this proper due to the monthly ISP ban that mods spam on me for unclear reasons.
Kitbashed seems like a decent term for them. Or Scrapbuilt.
Also please don't die. We've lost more than enough good QM's this year than I want to.
My brother-in-law has pointed out there is nothing on the wiki about independent Knight Orders.
Knights Errant
Wandering or roving Knights are not excessively common but with so many Houses in the Dominion there are bound to be some who have lost their Houses or been exiled from them. Most of these are referred to collectively as Knights Errant. While some may operate on their own as mercenaries others have been known to form groups of similarly dispossessed Knights.
Orders of such Knights may attempt to recruit prospective officers from the nobility of Houses they are on good terms with. This could be granted in return for their assistance in recent battles or other protection.
>The Knights Templar, Knights Hospitaller and so on recruited actively from the second and third sons of nobles to command their ranks.
That would certainly give some options.
I kink these guys need their own wiki article.

>monthly ISP ban

Hey guys, I'm back. To start, here are any crucial details you might want:

Christmas presents (You earned them, guys. Let me know if you like them.)http://pastebin.com/fLnubxzY
Now, let's get down to business.
Your name is Jean de Labendai. Born a simple farmer boy, you have been appointed heir of your lord's lands after he died without an heir of any kind. In the two months you have been ruling so far, you turned this dying province upside down, having it start to flourish again, as well as made many friends and aquaintances. This is your adventure.
Right now, you have taken Henry, a birdmaster into your service. He prides himself to be able of training any bird into a perfect messenger.
>I think the ravens are a good choice, Henry. Just in case we need longer messages.
The man nods.
>Sure. I will get started with my work immediately, if you wish.
You nod and offer him the plate with food that is sitting on your table. He thanks you and eats some cheese himself, while feeding the pigeon and parrot with bread and the raven with the dried meat.
>Now, let me show you your new workplace.
you say and lead him around the castle, explaining the crucial things like the dining hall and any offices he might need to visit occasionally. Finally, you go up to the tower, where Ulf and Miroslav set up a pigeon loft.
The man nods approvingly. They really created a piece of art with this one. Many openings for birds of any size, little bowls, carved into the stone for food and water...
>Your room is just down the stairs. I thought you might want to be close to your birds.
you tell Henry. He nods.
>Absolutely. Thank you for this opportunity, Mylord.
You leave the setup to him and leave. There's still work to do today. What exactly?
>Ask for possible political tasks.
>Teach Maurice about law and related things, if his schedule allows for it. If he stays true to his dream, he might one day be a Lord again.
>Talk to (who?) about (what?)
>Train in (what?)
>Damien is doing really well with his training. We should tell Duncan to give him more advanced tasks now.
>We're officially a knight now, but this doesn't mean we should slack off. Let's get some martial routine. (General? A certain thing?)
>We should train our swordsmanship further. Alphonse might be in recovery still, but you can do a thing or two on your own.
>The food reserves have grown, but more can't hurt, right? Let's get something. (Hunt? Gather? Something else?)
>Dancing practice with Annabelle went really well. I think we should work to perfect it.
>The vikings of Olafshall are our financial life insurance. We should do something (what?) to reward them.
>Visit a production site. It will be good for morale, which will be good for production output.

______________________________________________________________________________
You are Paxious Dromus, a Jedi Apprentice at the academy on Tython and you are about to figure out just how hard it can be to lift rocks.
Master Rava balances on a single hand without any signs of strain as she rotates nearly two dozen rocks around the otherwise empty room. You and your four classmates look in awe as the rocks float around you, landing right back where they came from.
“Well, students,” she says as she places her feet back on the ground and the rocks float gently back to their original place, “It is time for you to try.”
Everyone seems slightly intimidated by the idea until Klaitan speaks up, “If no one else will, I’ll step up,” he says, going into the center of the room and doing a very shaky handstand before lifting up a few rocks and promptly collapsing.
Rava laughs good-naturedly, “None of you will be able to do what I have done today. You may sit in a meditative position and only lift as many rocks as you believe you can manage. The goal is to get them to rotate around you and land in the exact spot they began in. Paxious, why don’t you try first?”
What will you do?
>”I’ll try...”
>”No problem!”

You are Wiliam, a Bishop of the High Order Church.
Right now you are witnessing another Bishop's promotion into an Arch-Bishop. Your fellow high ranking members are lined up along the room, staring at the Pope with respect as he imparts his blessing onto the new Arch-Bishop.
The ceremony is wrapping up, the various members began to scatter while the Pope retreats back to his quarters.
What do you do?

Head to the gardens to begin your daily prayers
>>976116
Yeah, you might as well get out of here and do your favorite past time, Martial Art Training and Weight Lifting. You're not dubbed the Fittest Bishop for nothing.
As you head out of the ceremony room, a familiar voice called you over.
"Not even a congratulations for your old friend?"
The freshly promoted Arch-Bishop steps closer to you.
"Looks like I got ahead of you again now huh?
Arch-Bishop. Been a hard journey to get here. You better catch up soon or we won't be rivals anymore huh Wil?"
Fraudrick, your acquaintance going back since the days in the orphanage gloats about his new promotion. As far as you can remember, he's always considered you his rival. Last time you got promoted into a Bishop faster than he did, so maybe that's why he's been so desperately climbing up the chain of commands lately.
"Oh don't fret Wil, actually the Pope asked me to call you to his quarters just now.
Maybe he'll have a new mission for you so you can get promoted?
Make sure to stop by his room later alright? Afterall, it won't be fun if you're not keeping up with me, hahaha!"
With that, Frau left with observable pride obtained from getting ahead of you this time.
>>976125
The gardens are on the way to the Pope's quarters, so you figured you might as well stop over to pray and maybe do a little training as well.
You arrived at the church's indoors flower garden. The graves looks like it has already been tended to today. On the other side, you see the wooden post you use to practice your martial arts.
Come to think of it, what was the martial arts you are most well versed in again?
The Holy Land of Annok has become a hellscape, just within the past decade. Ten years ago, all over the continent, filthy subhumans, creatures that were part human and part beast begun cropping up, faster than the Annokian Paladins could exterminate them. At the time, when you were but a child, your father, an innocent man, was killed in a subhuman revolt. Your family hoped, no, knew, that the subhumans responsible would be punished. Sadly, before those troublemakers could be executed, human activists, race traitors, spoke up, and spoke on the behalf of these sickening demipeople, pleading for them to be given rights, and treated as real people. Well-Renowned Leaders, the men and women that run the country, decided that they “didn’t want to be on the wrong side of history,” and jumped on the bandwagon, happily giving these subhumans things that they did not, and still do not deserve. You are a charismatic young cavalier named Hieronymus, and you aspire to the greatness that the Annokian Paladins once were. You will use your skills, skills passed down through your family for generations, to rise through the ranks of these yellow-bellied, lilly-livered turn-coat paladins, and, after subverting them to your will, then returning steel to their spines, you will come crashing down on the tumor that has been growing within the heart of the Holy Land for the past eight years with the full force of Annok’s army at your back. You will make Annok great once more, and you will go down on the right side of history, as a hero of the age. You will go down in history as... Pope Hieronymus. Your first action as a hero, will be to choose your weapon, one that will be blessed by the priest in your home town and given a name, a name that will be synonymous with your’s in the history books.
>Choose a weapon, and give it a name.

The short holy man lifts your sword out of the small bath, and bows his head slightly as he offers it up to you. You take it by the hilt, the only dry area on the sword, and squeeze, the familiar feeling of the worn leather comforting to you.
"Now, ah, don't forget to give it a name, my boy. Every good sword deserves a name," the priest says, looking up at the sword now.
You nod, then experimentally swing it once or twice, before sheathing it, and exiting the church. You walk over to your horse, and reach up to pat her neck, contemplating your next action.
>Mount your horse, and ride off to the capital, to see about enlisting.
>Go say goodbye to your mother again. You won't be seeing her for a very long time.
Last time, on Lich Quest Z, we;
• Fucked with some ghouls who were created by an unknown necromancer, who is probably our dad, and were forced to leave our home, then moved to the mountains.
• Our brother, Chester, fucked with another ghoul that was also probably created by our dad.
• We fucked with a golem, who was created by a dwarf who lives in the mines with an orc.
• We fucked our sister, got a job at the cemetary, then fucked our boss.
• We killed a bear, adopted its cub, then went back after accidentally leaving our body, and took on the bear's ghost as our familiar.
• And, we learned how to leave our body on command, which proved useful for stealth missions.
Now, on with the show.

You wake up, and find yourself encompassed in darkness. You look around, greatly confused, before spying a light, and a few people outlined standing in the light. You walk towards it, and as you near, you see your father, yourself, and your siblings, all a decade younger than your currently are. Your father, on his knees in front of a tombstone, is sobbing uncontrollably, as you, Chester, and Madeleine look on with neutral expressions. You raise one eyebrow, frowning slightly. You don't remember this ever happening, but feel compelled to do something.

"That the journey is as important as the destination. I should experience the world and enjoy it, company makes life worthwhile and that you taste like old dawnkrin." He finishes with snark
You try not to grin, "It only took you twenty visits rodent." The robed thing says which makes you worry for the stability of the dream.
Apparently he's toned out the steward though. Thank Minerva for small mercies. "And you.... uhm... warrio-lady?!"

>Suck a little helium to disguise your voice like a goblin cook. Then slide the choco-cheesy banana and orange drank through the cracked door and into the main hall saying, "Snack Time"
>When he comes over to get the snack, knock him out with the butt-end of the spear. Then take and put him in the oven and bar it shut with a chair from the dining room.
