Upon entering the spacious room you are greeted with an interesting sight within the 13th Divisions barracks.
Judging by the sheer size of the room you'd say it belongs to somebody important but the rather minimalistic furniture contradicts this idea very much.

Before you is a small, circular low table.
And around the table 3 shinigami can be seen kneeling, two of whom you recognize easily.
On the left is your son, you think his name is Takeshi.
Next to him, in the middle, is Rike and on her left is the white haired captain you haven't met yet.

By the look of things they were conversing up until now because the Captain has to turn his head to look at you.
"Ah... you're here.
Please, have a seat!"
He signals with his hand and gives you a warm and welcoming smile.

You oblige him and sit down on the pillow that was put down in anticipation of your arrival.
Sitting face to face with all 3 of them you speak up.
"Thank you."

He then reaches for a wooden cup full of steaming liquid.
"Care for some tea?
I understand that green tea is not for everybody but I assure you, it's quite good!"

You look at it nervously.
"Ermmm...
I appreciate the gesture, I really do.
But I'm afraid shinigami food just doesn't sit well with me."

He honestly looks disappointed after hearing that.
"Oh... I-I had no idea.
I'm sorry."

"It's okay you didn't...
Huh?!"
Before you could finish your sentence you notice something as Captain Wiggles rustles in your front pocket and pokes his head out.
You look at him and back at the Captain before you.
"Oh... Heh...
I erm... actually would like some tea."

Clearly puzzled he pushes the cup to you.
You then grab it and bring it close to your face and start blowing some air on the tea to cool it down.
In the meantime Wiggles crawls out of your pocket, up your arm, to the tea and begins to mimic your motions and blows some cold air on the liquid.
Once it reaches an optimal temperature Wiggles goes into the cup and pokes his head out of his little tea bath.

The shinigami looks genuinely amused by this.
''Oh my, how adorable!"
He reaches forward and rubs the head of Wiggles.

But while he is busy with petting the tiny axolotl you finally get a good look at Rike and see her being troubled, she probably didn't speak up until now because of the Captains presence.
"Krieger... your arm...
Are you alright?"

You grab the stump of your left arm with your right hand and look at her.
"It's fine. Don't worry about it.
Give it a few hours and it'll grow back."

Hearing your conversation the captain returns his attention to you.
"High speed regeneration?"

"No...
Most arrancars lose that ability.
It's my ability to heal things."

"Ah, of course!
If my memory serves well it was you who restored Lieutenant Hinamori back to full health."

"That's an exaggeration.
I merely restored her spine..."

He takes a sip of his tea and then resumes.
''In any case, allow me to introduce myself.
I'm Ukitake Jūshirō Captain of the 13th Division."

"Kaizar Soize.
A pleasure."

He nods.
"I'm well aware.
You are... somewhat famous within the Seireitei.
Some of your exploits are well known throughout the Seireitei..."

"I assume most of that is the bad stuff."

He closes his eyes in shame.
"I'm afraid so.
Censoring information regarding you has become... problematic."
Then he opens his eyes and his expression becomes cheerful once more.
"But I'm happy to say that this might change soon enough!"

You raise an eyebrow at that.
"How so?"

"Some of my fellow captains have taken steps towards clearing up your name!''

At this Rike, who was kinda hunched forward a bit, straightens her back.
"Is this true Captain?!"

Ukitake laughs a little.
"It is third seat!
But you'd do me a huge favor if you didn't speak about this to anyone else.
This is still very much confidential and I'd be in a lot of trouble if this got out!"

He then turns back to you and sees your eyes lingering on Rike.
"I.... understand that this is kind of an awkward position to be in.
But I also hope you understand that it's necessary..."

You look at him with grim eyes.
''Are the thirty something assassins around the building also necessary?''

''You have sharp senses.
Not everybody can notice the Onmitsukido that easily...
But please, understand that they are more of a formality than anything else.
If half of the things are true in your files they will be little more than a distraction should things go horribly wrong...''
The captain then sets his cup aside.

"However...
I volunteered for this assignment because I was genuinely astonished by the fact that several of the Gotei 13's captains vouched for you.
That and some of the things you did got me hopeful that perhaps we don't have to be enemies...
But with that said, I get your frustration with the situation.
After all, you just wish to talk with your family. So how about this?
We go through some if the necessary protocols and afterwards you can talk as much as you wish!''

"It's a little dusty..." You say, as you look the strange vehicle over.

"Well, it's been in storage for a while" Katherine says. "Call it a failed prototype. We were trying to make a compact cart that ran off a chaos engine"

Hella steps up and hands you a cloth to wipe the dust away.
"Thanks" You say, as you start cleaning it off a bit so you don't get all dusty when you get on. "So why did it fail?"
"Think of it like a tiny Mortifas" Katherine says. "The driver was incapable of using magic while riding, and all testers reported noticeable drops in their mana reserves as well. Nothing too severe from short trips, but anything longer had pretty severe side effects."

You look back to see Katherine tossing Vivi up into the air as she talks, then turn your attention back to the bike again as you clear off the last bit of dust.

"We tried to come up with some sort of shielding, but it made the bike too heavy" She says. "And mana packs just seemed kinda silly, so we scrapped the project. Like I said, this is the bare bones. It only has the chaos engine itself"
"Why does it need me to start it anyway?" You ask, as you get on and look over the controls
"Well, since the chaos engine doesn't have a solid base, the energy dissipates when you turn it off" Katherine says. "To offset that, there was a storage unit to get it started, but it was removed"

"So where do I put the energy?" You ask.
"It goes..." Katherine catches Vivi and walks over, holding her daughter out and manipulating her paw to point at a slot between the handle bars. "In here. The actual engine is under you, so you may have to push it in a bit..."

"I could just use this" You say, as you draw your mageblade and stick it into the opening. Once the engine has the soul it needs, you withdraw the blade.
"That works too" She says. "You shouldn't have to worry about it affecting passersby or passengers. If anything, you'll probably absorb the excess chaos yourself"

Katherine gives you a quick 'how to' on operating the Rook, and then you're ready to go.

"So I just turn this and-"
"Ahem" Cheska says. "Not planning on going somewhere, are we?"
"Oh yeah..." You say.
"I thought so" Cheska says.

In the aftermath of the beach, the students return to the school. Once the students in the hospital return there is to be a visit from the Madrid Municipality, the Mayor is even supposed to be there.
In light of the number of students injured, and in a few sad cases dead, classes have been canceled for one turn and varies shines for the students that have passed away can be found around campus.
It is a guilty thought that the students are glad it is nobody they know, not everyone is so lucky.

It's turn-based though, so it can't really be classified as an RTS.

BATTLE RULES:
-All units have a set range of their weapons, for example if JUMBA-01's rocket fist has a range of 5, it can attack anything that is 5 or less tiles away from JUMBA-01 on the grid map( >>1093065)
-When one of the large machines/creatures attacks roll 2d20. Higher result - lower result = damage dealt.
-When armies attack, roll 1d20 and 1d6. If d6 result is bigger than d20 result, d6 result - d20 result = damage dealt. Otherwise the army fails to damage the harvester.
-Each unit has a mobility stat. For example if Flight mode harvester has a mobility stat of 50 it can move for up to 50 tiles on the grid map.
-Each unit has a hitpoint counter(amount of squads for armies). When hitpoint counter is depleted the unit is destroyed. Bigger units like the amalgam and the harvesters have hitpoints distributed among multiple bodyparts.
-The game is turn-based, units act first and move second.
-Turn order is determined at the start of the game with Xd50 where X=number of armies, every army takes one roll, the higher the roll of an army the later it's turn is. For example, if there are two armies and one rolled 30 and the other rolled 35 the first army moves before the second.

Nids, Nids, Nids oh how you fucking hate Nids and there are literally thousands just behind you and your near completely eaten squad. Not only that but your gun at this range is nearly useless and those tanks look like they don't exactly care about casualties at this point. Well this is just another normal day in the life of the imperial guard, still you rather not die or get blown to bits.

Well not much you can do about this now, you just keep running at the tanks, hopefully a nid wont grab you and the tank decides to not shoot where you are at the moment.

will you live? will you die? only the god emperor knows.

You charge at the line of Russes who pull out of the forest knocking several trees over, you hear the screams of the men behind you who either were too slow to catch up or were too dumb to know when to retreat. "fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck" you keep swearing under your breath as you get closer. Unfortunately you notice that the guns are pointed close to where you are now which never is a good sign of things to come. quickly you notice Kali though she is missing an arm rapidly outpacing you and the rest of the squad.

"MOVE MOVE MOVE!" she continues to yell as the tanks prepare to unload their deadly projectiles in your direction. you only have moments to decide what to do or get blown to bits.

You grumble, occasionally looking over your shoulder at the armored personnel carrier that is following your truck. Sure is a lot of firepower for an ‘escort’ that the militias have provided. Turning forward again, you pick up the small wooden box from the floor and weigh it in your hands. Inside is the strange pistol you discovered in the boneyard earlier today.

“Kind of strange that their escort is behind us instead of in front,” Cynthia says as she glances in the rear-view mirror.

You grimace. “It’s so they can chase us down if we try to run,” you reply simply. “That’s not just an escort. The thing’s practically a damn tank.”

“Why would they be expecting us to run?” Cynthia looks over at you with a worried expression.

“Read this,” you say as you produce your communicator. “I’ll hold the wheel.” You grab a hold of the steering wheel as Cynthia reads the text message from Sgt. Hendricks.

“Oh my god,” Cynthia mutters. “Allen, what are we going to do?” Her eyes go wide as she shakily grabs the steering wheel again, trying to remain calm.

“I’ll get back to you on that once I think something up,” you reply. Glancing back again, you see that the commander of the APC is riding with his hatch open, leaning lazily of the top of the turret a he occasionally barks orders to the crew inside.

As far as getting away from these guys, you doubt you’ll be able to in this truck. It tops out at 75 miles per-hour, and it takes forever to get up to speed. Not to mention you don’t have much chance of fighting your way out. The only weapon you brought was your old .45 service pistol with two extra magazines. You are about to groan in frustration when you remember the little box if your hand. Opening it, you look down at the mystery pistol. There aren’t any instructions so speak of, and you honestly don’t have any idea what this weapon does, but it’s certainly an interesting option if things go south.

You enter the outskirts of the city and begin heading up the road leading to the docks. As you drive along slowly, you notice teams of men in riot armor walking along the sidewalks. As you drive past one of the teams, they kick open the door to what looks like an apartment building. You grimace, not looking back, as you hear automatic gunfire somewhere inside the building.

“Uh, Allen?” You hear Cynthia’s worried voice and look up. In front of you is another APC, parked sideways along the road to block your path. Cynthia slows the truck to a halt in front of the APC as some militia members get out of it. Looking back, you see your escort park behind you and its occupants dismount as well.

“Shit,” you mutter beneath your breath. Grabbing the strange gun, you slap a battery into its slot, feeling the subtle pulsing in the handle. As you spare it one last glance, you notice something else that intrigues you. There is a little selector switch just above the handle with four settings. Each one is a plain, white number, except for the fourth setting, which is stamped in red, and has a skull and crossbones next to it. Shrugging, you tuck the mystery gun into your waistband.

A man in a slightly different uniform than the rest, likely an officer, steps out in front of your truck, gesturing for you to both exit the vehicle. You are Alexander Pallas of House Pallas, an ancient, struggling Rogue Trader dynasty. Fortunately, you've recently come into some good fortune that is sure to change that: exclusive exploration rights of a hundred systems in the Veiled Region, a cluster of thousands of stars on the edge of the galaxy. You have already managed to bring one system of humans (members of a socialist state called the Ambarian Worker's Collective) into the light of the Emperor (and the pockets of your House) through the conversion of its Supervisor to the Emperor's Light. Unfortunately, loyalist elements were able to warn the larger Collective of this betrayal and sabotage their devices in their "Pre-Crime Department". Fortunately, their ships are primitive, and without Navigators, so you have some time before their navies arrive to attempt to retake the system. The populace (for now) thinks only that the Collective and Imperium are "making overtures for a greater alliance", blissfully ignorant of your shadow rule. You've spent most of the past week mixed between reviewing the documents left by the previous owners of your ship, the Absolution; practicing fencing with a training-servitor; and having some corrective optical surgery done by a crack team of Othhite medicae.

You are currently in your planet-side study with your butler-cherub, Roger, fitting you for a new suit in stylish greys, to fit in better with the local fashion while still maintaining your regal fashion. A stack of documents rests on a nearby table; a report from Planetary Governor (formerly Oversupervisor) Karlyle about the Otthaw's system's riches.
