Hi /po/. I saw these (more pics incoming) on our local christmas market, and was wondering if anybody here has a template for this model. Basically it's modular kirigami, and pretty similar to some of Philip Chapman-Bell's stuff, but he doesn't seem to have the same model in his gallery. The lampshades on the photos are lasercut plastic, but could be made from cardstock just as well.
Also, modular kirigami thread. Modular origami lampshades are welcome, too.
You can see the modules here, but I was too dumb to make a decent picture.
Basically it's just a rounded rectangle with those yin yang flaps, but I'm wondering about the exact dimensions / ratio of sides to make a proper spherical shape.
Can we have a sexy /po/ thread?
I once saved a few pics but never saw the source files
last from me
hi, / po /
I'm looking website where I can find anime origami form cp
thank /po/
Only cp exist of these super realistic human figures. A guy named obelisk is a master at those however he doesn't seem to be interested in sharing his work...
origami from child pornography?
what
Check this. Rei ayanami from evangelion. And the othersite you should click and see i am not sure if it is from some anime.

I'm trying to study and eventually design origami tessellations. Is there an illustration/design software that easily produces basic tessellated grids like pic related and has some functionality for drawing lines for creases on the grids?
probably start with more regular stuff like
I don't know of any software but here's some book recommendations.
This book looks promising. I've folded a few models from it that I've found around the internet and intend to buy it one day.
https://www.amazon.com/Origami-Tessellations-Awe-Inspiring-Geometric-Designs/dp/1568814518
I have this one and enjoy it for basic tessellation techniques but you might be looking for something more advanced. All of Jackson's books are great.
https://www.amazon.com/Folding-Techniques-Designers-Sheet-Form/dp/1856697215/
Those two books should lead to other worthwhile recommendations by Amazon.
What makes you want to get deeply into origami tessellations?
>>549258
I bought Eric Gjerde's book years ago and always thought tessellations were badass. I've been folding origami long before that and now I want to really get into origami design in general and hopefully understand all the underlying math.
I actually filled out a purchase request for the Jackson book at my uni library, hopefully they'll follow through with it, I've been wanting that one for a while.
Anybody has this really old papercraft lying anywhere on the pc? I would love to make her, but it's nowhere to be found :(
Her name is Rouge from the anime Powerstone.
>>549255
i could not find the model but i did find the 3d model it is based on. if you know how to make your own papercraft i suppose you could use this. or anyone else for that matter.

Sweet!!! Thanks a bunch :)
I'm looking for penguin or linux related paper diagrams, any size would be awesome, thanks /po/!

A few seconds of search give me that (no specific order):

Thanks.

That was fast...
what kind of glue do you guys use?
>>546921
I don't use glue, I cut tabs with scissors and tuck them into small slots to secure them in place. Glue makes thinner paper look gross desu
>>546921
wtf ?
>>548504
I didn't set the theme
somebody can help me to fin a way to do the entire caste or at least the wals because i cant understand that cp
pd: i find it on the origami convention usa 2006 if you ask
>>549231
hey geys,Can you please help me !!!
I'd love to find diagrams of the god of thunder
Author: Takashi hoijo
thank you very much
>>549178
No diagram of it, but a CP in a Tanteidan Convention Book.
>>549200
checked
sorry but you certainly can not diagram it is wrong

but the second part was broken links should not download it
sup /po/ i need a tutorial (bonus point for video) for this particolar type of dragon model
>>548236
No CP or diagrams have been released for it yet, but the artist does release CPs. So just wait until they release it.

>but the artist does release CP
chilld porn?
radical
bump for interest
I am looking for a cool way to fold a gift wrapping. The box has a square face and is longer on the other dimension (think of two cubes on top of one another). Are there any designs that adapt to the size of the box?
Right now I don't have it at hand, and forgot to tale measurements, but I will provide them later.
I know I came to the right place.

>(think of two cubes on top of one another)
This shape is called a "rectangle."
>>548220
A "rectangle" is bidimensional, actually.
Favorite origami artists? I'm so in love with Ekaterina Lukasheva kusudamas

I quite like Fisgoth

this is the kind of stuff i would like to be able to design

Hey guys I am no to /po/.
Being an aspiring traditional drawfag, I produce a lot of scrap paper.
I draw on basic A4 most of the time on most of it lands in the trashbin.
It is quite a waste so I'm looking for ideas.
Cutting it down to square size seems bothersome so what do you make out of A4 paper? Is there A4 origami?
Sure, theres plenty. But cutting your A4 to squares is easy and will be worth it.
>>548063
A4 paper (and other sizes like A6, A7, etc.) has dimensions that are proportional to 1:sqrt(2). There are many origami designs, especially modular ones, that make use of paper with those proportions, often called "silver rectangles" in this context.
Try searching for silver rectangle origami and you should find plenty of interesting designs.
Hi guys, is there anyone out there experienced with creating articulated papercraft models? I have a 3d model that I'd like translated into papercraft, but in desperate need of help. Pic somewhat related.
Articulated/moving parts papercraft haven't really worked out for me. First one tried was the Plasma Cutter from Dead Space. It was simple but it was the 2nd papercraft I ever made so I didnt do it too well. I later made Vash's Angel Arms revolver from Trigun, it had a little lever that hooked the barrel breach closed, so when you moved it, the barrel swung open. Didnt work too well but looked super cool when it did.
Would like to try OP's pictured papercraft if anyone has the file.
>>544115
Unfortunately I don't think that exists I just used it as a photo for reference. I just want someone to help translate a 3D model into a papercraft with a few joints is all.
>>544114
I doubt it'll work. You want something like plastic for joints, which defeats the point of papercraft.
I need the pdf or instruction to make this beauty
http://www.adaymag.com/2014/05/09/21-diy-lamps-chandeliers.html
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFqTHTq5xS4&list=PLzsHUQDWXILJxewPXpyhDU2ov80VO-AlS&index=1
Considering that thing is some art project with a limited edition of 100 copies, sold at couple thousand bucks per pop - pretty doubtful that the artists would release instructions how to DIY, don't you think?
As for that video >>546727... that guy seems pretty clueless. I've had a bunch of shadowcasting lamp screens in my old appartment, the main "trick" to get clearly defined crisp shadows is to have a small dot-like light source. Traditionally candles do a good job, but obviously not recommended for screens made from paper, wood, or other materials which are not fireproof. With bulbs, you want a good old incandescent light bulb where the filament is pretty short, and the bulb glass is clear, not matte. Long filaments, matte glass, or other lamp types like neon lamps in bulb shape the emitting area is way too big and you'll get smudgy shadows at best. Single LEDs might do a good job as well, but haven't experimented with those yet.
