Hi guys, is there anyone out there experienced with creating articulated papercraft models? I have a 3d model that I'd like translated into papercraft, but in desperate need of help. Pic somewhat related.
Articulated/moving parts papercraft haven't really worked out for me. First one tried was the Plasma Cutter from Dead Space. It was simple but it was the 2nd papercraft I ever made so I didnt do it too well. I later made Vash's Angel Arms revolver from Trigun, it had a little lever that hooked the barrel breach closed, so when you moved it, the barrel swung open. Didnt work too well but looked super cool when it did.
Would like to try OP's pictured papercraft if anyone has the file.

Unfortunately I don't think that exists I just used it as a photo for reference. I just want someone to help translate a 3D model into a papercraft with a few joints is all.

I doubt it'll work. You want something like plastic for joints, which defeats the point of papercraft.

Julius perdana did it with his iron man models no?
>>544118
I do that kind of work. Might do it for free if I find that model interesting and doesnt take too much work to do.

Well I can tell you it's a model from Magic the Gathering. Hopefully that piques your interest!
>>544126
Never been that interested in Magic. Can you take a screenshot of the model?

Here's an untextured photo

Thats gonna be a lot of work. And its also very slender so its gonna be a really thin papercraft with lots of small hard to make pieces.
>>544132
Ah so I'll take that as a no?
>>544138
Thats a no from me. But you might be able to find some else who will do it, maybe a commission.
I dont really do models like this. I do props/armour. Larger stuff ya know.
But there are tons of people who do models like this. Try searching DeviantArt for hatsuni Miku Papercraft Models. Should find someone.

Looks possible to me, but you'll have to redesign the hip and thighs if you want it to move

yeah, also with Optimus Prime
laminated paper.

I always thought this model was a great experiment in designing small, simple, paper-only joints: http://guru2.karakasa.com/paper_doll/download_e.html
I built a prototype for a more complex armature based on the same system. I'll probably release it one day if I ever get around to finishing it.
Is there a spray that can harden paper model parts?
>>545008
If you use the watery superglue it'll soak in and harden it. Only problem is it also hardens burrs and you have to sand those down a bit, and its not really a spray.
This has a lot of moving parts, definitely worth a look for ideas.
