1. what does this mean on lenses xxmm -xxmm
2.can you change lenses on point and shoots
3. can a point and shoot be good for under $200 AUD because i'm a poor minor
>minor
Reported, also use the stupid questions and gear thread
1 - the physical length of the lens
2 - yes
3 - you'll be hard pressed to find a camera for that price. expect to pay $500+ for even something cheap.

>1. what does this mean on lenses xxmm -xxmm
Flaccid to erection size.
>2.can you change lenses on point and shoots
Sure, just saw it off and glue on another.
>3. can a point and shoot be good for under $200 AUD because i'm a poor minor
No, only cameras over $3k are any good.

Hello /p/. I'm unsure as to whether or not you guys handle photo printing.
I purchased a photo from vintageaerial and I'd like to have it printed and possibly framed.
Any recommendations?
I'd like to have the .tiff printed, however I can't find anywhere to print the image. Also have a .jpg, but I don't want to print that when I have a higher quality file available.
I should have also asked
The image is black and white
>What type of paper do I want to get my photo printed on?
I've checked
>Wal mart
>Mpix
>All the sponsored links on Google for image printing
Non of them support .tiff files.
Costco does tiff
>>2801966
Unfortunately for me the nearest Costco is about two hours away.
what do you think about these photographs, should i continue taking pictures

Went to a Con for the first time. It was an interesting experience. Up until this day I hoped that furries are just an elaborate joke created by /b/, but damn...
Aside from some really crazy people it was entertaining, well even the crazy ones were entertaining if you didn't got stuck with them.
I was with the predators.

Hey /p/. For around 2 years now I've worked with digital cameras but I feel it's time to upgrade to a DSLR. I looked at some recently around new years time, however I'm really not sure which to get. Which would you recommend? I'm not exactly a professional but other than learning how the camera itself works, I'm sure I'd pick up on how to use it. I only do photography as a hobby, not professionally.
Any suggestions? Price range doesn't matter however I'd prefer below £600 (probably around $700).

I'm gonna go ahead and say 350D. I got one for like $300 5 or 6 years ago... They've got to be dirt cheap now, and will fulfil all the needs of a total noob like OP.

it's "soft" focus
Not even a nice place to pose at, ton of distracting branches and shit all around,

I bet they've made a bunch more money than I have in photography
Really bad shot all round really.
Anyone here starting uni to study photography this year? Or already going to uni? If so what branch are you studying and what do you plan to do when you get out.
This is such a shitty group picture. Group shots should at least try and get people in focus rather than bokeh whoring.
And photo school? Business and marketing would be more helpful to make a living at it.
just dont
i absolutey guarantee you will regret your decision
get a useful degree while simply taking photographs, studying from plenty of sources online, and looking through photobooks
hell, study sociology or philosophy. literaly anything but photography. by all means pursue a career as a photographer but dont waste the value of a degree on something that will literally tell everyone you are an idiot for going $30-40k in debt for a piece of paper that says photography on it.

Major in journalism or business, minor in photography. Make the connections, and still get a useful skill so you can actually put your photography to use. Photography by itself leaves you really good at working a camera, while also working at Best Buy.

I can build upon this
My DSLR progression was 50, 90, and now 700 is my main body. The 50 doesn't get much action any more but its a great camera.
I was disappointed when Nikon dumbed down the entry level range - no top LCD, hiding most controls in menu's etc.
Give me a D50/70/90 any day.
1/2 pic related - D50.
