What is your opinion on the nikon d3300? Excited for mine coming in a couple days.

And that's why we have the gear thread
>>2778017
Been using mine since august, my first non-phone camera. I really think its fantastic, I used it to photograph my cousins wedding, and the photos (surprisingly) came out really well.Really glad about the purchase.
>>2780281
It's a great little camera, perfect for a first timer but it'll last you a while as well. Good lens selection
Post your before/after editing pictures

Why did you put specks on it?
>>2792729
Because i like specks, but everyone's asking me this question so i think it was not a good idea haha
>>2792723
Yours is overdone and super gay, but I'm sure it'll get a lot of likes on facebook from normies.
Can anyone give me advice on focusing manually with this camera? It's a bit different than with a SLR especially since the AF-S 35/1.8 I use doesn't have a focusing ring.
Why bother? Sometimes AF is too slow, I'd like to just walk around at f11 and just know that everything in the shot is in focus.
Related, is it worth buying AF-D lenses? How about older ones that will fit the mount?
Thanks. Sorry if this question didn't warrant a new thread.

That's what I'm sayin, they don't make it easy. Wondering if I should just autofocus on something 10 feet away or so then switch it to manual.

how do did you get out of a photographic rut?
it's been more than a year since i felt like going out shooting. i used to be all about this hobby, bought my first real camera before a trip to Japan and ended up shooting weddings and events, which sucked the life out of me. also became obsessed with the technical aspects so now i have a great camera and lenses i don't use.
how do i find joy in photography again, p/ ?
Sell everything and buy a fuji.
>>2787962
what a great meme! i'm loving this meme. i'm making it my default answer to any question from now on
>>2787961
everytime you had a time to spare, go out and shoot. Do a travel, and shoot whatever you wants.
Your weddings gear will give you another kind of viewers to your real photographys and also more quality though...
How can I copy this style of editing?
Contrast slider, you mongoloid. Learn the absolute basics and the rest will come easily.
>>2792421
Decreasing contrast alone does not achieve this look. I know enough to know that and have tried.
Print the regular photograph, let it have a 2 hours ride on your washing machine, then scan it to retrieve the photograph on your computer.
Criticize my photography, /p/!

OMG!! This is true art!
You have clearly mastered the ultimate photography skills of taking random snapshits of food from a birds eye view. Nobody has ever done this, which makes you a unique, special talented artist.
>>2792240
Your one of a kind skills are also very well resembled in this following Artistic Photograph.
Nothing says talent more than an overexposed picture of a hand. So creative and beautiful. A true masterpiece. But next time, please wipe your hands after you stuck your fingers into your cunt when you're on your period.

>A snapshot of a "painting"
Contact your local gallery. I'm pretty sure they would love to see it on their wall.
>tumblr
Ive always thought tumblr has no real actual talented photographers, due to assuming all of them are dumb underage kids who want to feel edgy, but you, Young Expressionist have truly opened my eyes. God bless your amazing talents.
My wife's son is looking to get into photography and he said he was looking at the A6000. Would it be a good starter camera for him.

He's at it again. Can someone explain to me if his odd thoughts on magnetism even make sense, and whether this has any meaning for photography?

Hi guys, what is the name of this photographer? Moreover, I'm looking for an photo with two girls, one of them holds a cigarette, they are going to kiss, the photo is covered in a red light, this is an old photo from 1930+ any ideas?
>>2790879
If you know this is from Bill Evans' album "Undercurrent" then it takes literally 10 seconds of research. Even if you didn't, you can just do a reverse Google search and you'll immediately find your answer...
So i want to get into photagraphy n stuff and i want to buy a camera can you guys tell me a good and not too expensive one and some tips and tricks that would be nice
>>2790847
Use the gear thread and actually do some research on the internet.
If you don't want to, make yourself a pinhole camera, I feel anything more complex would only confuse you more.
>>2790856
Ok, but can you recommend any model that you know of, i heard nikon is good is that right ?
>>2790861
Get an A6000.
Mirrorless is good for learning how to shoot in M mode because you're using an electronic view finder instead of an optical.
Optical w/ DSLR: You see through the lens. Even if the camera is OFF, you will see through the lens. You do NOT see what the photo is going to look like. If your ISO/shutter speed don't line up, you can end up with an all white or all black photo or anything in between.
Electronic View Finder: You see nothing unless the camera is on. You see what the SENSOR sees, so what you see on the screen/view finder is what the picture is going to look like.
The A6000 is also good for adapting old lenses. Like stuff you might find at a thrift store or antique store.
hey /p/ i want to get into wildlife photography in particular birds what would be a decent camera to start off with? im on a medium budget due to kid on the way.
Finally, a Sony Shill Free Thread.

I was invited to shoot this event up in Orlando Florida this year and i was wondering what a good all around short zoom lens i should rent.
For reference i have the Fuji XT1 (pic related) and i will be shooting exclusively indoors at Hotwife Convention 2016. Thoughts?
>>2790763
What kind of venue? What time of day? What kind of event? How much access will you have?
I'd hesitantly say a 24-70mm 2.8, but depending on the above, you might be better served with a 70-200mm.
Also, fucking gear thread asshole.
>>2790765
As i said it's a indoor event called Hotwife Con. I will be shooting in dimly lit rooms and mostly people. I have full access to the entire premise and i'm allowed in and outside the premise. I will be up close and personal with the people and the rooms are quite small. I may be shooting video but photography is a must. Sorry for not posting in the gear thread.
>>2790767
>hotwife con
This is an actual convention in my city. What the fuck.
>wanted to go shoot today
>cucked out of it because park was closed
what can i practice photography on indoors
> doesn't know what cuck means but uses it anyway.
>>2790683
You probably get mad at people who use the word `literally` """wrong"""", don't you?
I couldn't do the thing I wanted, i was cucked.
