There was actually somebody who thought this was ok.

Objectively idiot peasants: OP
The car looked awkward but the room concept was really fucking advanced.
It's actually a really intelligent car. Seats six, lots of interior room and clever storage, great visibility. It only looks like a complete abortion. They at least somewhat fixed the outside with the 2004 facelift, and built it all the way until 2010.
I've got enough money to buy my first car (i'm 18)
and I was looking at NA miata's. Problem is my dad says i can only get a car with airbags so now l'm looking at NB's. Do they hold up against NA's ? i know allot of you guys have miata's.
>>17618079
Tell your dad to fuck off, and find a nice NA model.
It's your money, you spend it on what you want.
>>17618079
>"""I""" have enough money
>I
Is it actually your money or is it your dad's? If it's yours buy an NA
>>17618079
If you do get an NA remove the airbags. They are actually deadly. Not joking.
But NB's are all around better cars. They just lack flip up head lights so yeah
/o/, what the fuck would you buy for a nice, reliable daily driver for around $40-45k USD used? Getting bored with my Mazda3 and looking for an upgrade. At the moment I'm pondering either a VW Golf R, BMW M240i, or C7 Corvette. I've ruled out the Camaro SS and Mustang GT simply because every teenage faggot and their mother has one of them around here.
>>17617989
This question is more of an argument starter than anything. What do you want from this car? Do you want POWER? Do you want practicality? Do you want to attack corners or carry people and stuff?
>>17617989
Mustang GT 350, camaro SS , or Chevy SS
>>17618005
This. What are your needs, OP?
I need information on changing it out without having to drop my gas tank. Essentially I want to cut through the back to it and save myself (a lot of) time.
Does anyone here have a recommendation or previous experience with this?
>I want to fix my car but not do any work
Just take it to your local independent dealer, he could do with the money anyway.
>>17617760
>cut through the back
You will damage the tank. Just drop it. It's shit easy.
Not that easy plus I don't have that kind of money and it has to be done today
Redpill me on trucks.
Ive always thought it'd be handy to have a truck to haul stuff around with how much I borrow friends/family trucks for hauling parts/bikes/etc.
Well i just got a perfectly good 40hp 18' jon boat from my cousin for $1000 I couldn't pass up. Think I wanna pull the trigger on a cheap truck. Will just be driven around town mostly and for putting boat in water. Maybe out of town occasionally to haul my dirtbike/wheeler to go riding somewhere.
Thinking $1000-2000 at most.
What brand should I look for in this area. Is v6 okay? Is something like an s10/ranger/dakota going to be too small?
I see a lot of all old full sizes on the road, k1500, f150s, and ram 1500s so are they all pretty good trucks?
Get a GMT400, half-ton 5.7L. C1500 or K1500.
The 350ci is one of the most reliable, best small block engines you can get for the money. All of them are insanely cheap and are simple to work on. That'll more than likely fall inside of your price range.
Pic related, my boy.
Price can depend on your area a LOT.
Around here (SE Iowa) is truck-land. Every swingin dick in high school has a truck and then beyond - $1000 trucks here go for like $3000-4000. Primarily if it's a 4WD v8 Full-Size
That said, I was in similar shoes and I had my eyes set on getting a 5.0 or 4.9 I6 F150 most likely in 2WD. I wanted to also pull a boat, but mainly just hauling stuff. They seem to be more plentifully available at realistic prices.I mostly blame their reasonable prices here because they don't have as much masculinity in their looks as their Ram1500/K1500 counter parts.
I would stay away from dodge though, every one I've seen especially from 90's to early 2000's get DOG shit gas mileage. Without a trailer my buddy's 5.9 Ram1500 got 8mpg in a 4 hour trip. Pulling my buddy's car with my 5.7 k1500 the same trip I got 11.4mpg.
Dodges also have loads of issues and yes they are known for trans issues.
The F150's are pretty reliable, and the k1500's as well. The motors are bullet proof for the most part. They can leak fluids out of every mating surface and run forever. Transmissions are generally ok too. The 700R4/4l60 in the GM trucks isn't the best but it's not a ticking time bomb either like a dodge.
The main things that plague these trucks is chassis/suspension/steering components.
Get that stuff squared away and you'll be good for awhile. Don't mess with knock/china parts for all that. Get moog and you'll likely be good for long term.
I have a 97 K1500 4x4 with the 5.7 - i lucked out on mine and traded a $1100 SVT Focus for it. Even though it has rust it'd sell for 3500-4500 if I were to post it on CL.
So keep your eyes open. Know what to check - pay attention to steering/suspension.
For your needs a 6cyl truck would probably do fine though I'd stay away from the rangers. S10 4.3 would just barely be enough for the boat.
I'd stick to full size in your shoes.
>buying a truck to do things you need a trailer for anyway
>thinking you can buy a decent truck for a grand or two
You'll barely get a boat trailer for a grand if the boat doesn't already come with it.
Have you ever bought a vehicle you couldn't afford?
How much did you fuck up then op?
>>17617718
I can't afford any vehicle.
I know that feeling, OP. I bought a 2008 Honda Civic.

first for honda a best the two posts above don't count
I don't see these threads anymore. What happened?
I'm looking at a couple of cars this weekend, but $25 for a single autocheck is a bit much for me to stomach.
>>17617555
Well, they moved from street racing to action heist-ing
Acknowledge that subarus are for cucks.
With that out of the way, would you rather have a GD wagon or GD STI?
Inb4 9-2x :^]
GC Type R or kill yourself
Why are Subarus for cucks? I need an explanation.

Am I doing any damage to my bike if I almost never use first gear? It starts fine from stopped in 2nd and first gear caps out at like 5 mph so what's the point
cb500f for reference
Pls respond
I'm not sure I've never ridden a bike
Rip in pieces clutch
We got a new golf and if has the stupid electronic handbrake
How the fuck do i make sure it's engaged when i'm parked
Also what if i don't wanna rely on solely my transmission to hold the car?
Why can't i leave it in neutral like i've done all these years?
Sorry guys, first automatic and i have no idea how it works
>>17617182
I've driven one of those new Passats that also had an electronic parking brake. Basically you'll hear the hydraulics engage when you pull the little switch.
>>17617196
I tried this, but even if the light was on i could rock it in neutral
Do i need the shifter in P?
What does it even do in a dsg?
normies put their cars in park with few consequences literally millions of times per day
just put it in park and don't worry about it unless you're on a hill

This right here. /o/ makes fun of me for buying a new Kia but the dealership marks them down so much and they're much better quality these days.
>>17616876
>he bought a new car
For what reason?
Just bought a car to learn how to drive stick but my question is how the hell do you stop from rolling back or accidentally doing burnouts? I absolutely dread hill starts
>>17616844
>americans
Seriously is this bait? How can a human being not realise how to do a hillstart in a microsecond.
>>17616844
Everybody does, OP when - starting out. You just have to do it and play with the clutch. Modern cars have hill start features these days that make it brain dead too. You kids have it easy.
>>17616844
>not doing burnouts away from every start, hill or not
Wew
Plz respond :(
It's a 20+ year old foreign car. What do you think?
>>17617498
It isn't foreign, they were sold in the U.S. Maybe a pic of a 4 door would do better?
What is your national speed limit?
>>17616686
80/90/100/120/130 km/u. (depends on the time of day)
Enforced by cameras everywhere.
But then again, best roads make driving a shitbox more comfy than a luxo barge on bad roads.
just use that cruisecontrol to avoid tickets.
