What do you look forward to the most about the future of cars?
absolutely nothing
Cars are already amazing. Problem is we don't have enough money.

Nothing, I want turbos and manuals and diesels... But all I'm gonna get is autonomous driving, electric shit, and shitty "nu-age" interiors with giant touch screens
Anyone here get into subwoofers and amps for car audio?

nothing in my current car but i've had a few different setup in my old cars
been shopping around and planning to get a couple 10s and about 1000 watts for them, lately been considering a couple PSI platform 1 10s and a DC Audio 1.2k
This is the ideal transmission for a car. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
That is not a DCT though.
It's a wannabe DCT but still a slushbox.
Also that shifter design is fucking ridiculous for a $80k car
>>17625978
1. It's a $70k car, not an $80k car. And it comes with a lot of standard features
2. DCTs are trash in traffic and this shifts just as fast as a DCT

It is the ideal transmission for this car, but not for every car. Normal cars up to 300 hp are still better enjoyed as manual.
I had the pleasure of driving one yesterday. There wasn't a single flaw I could make out. But the single best thing about it is the exhaust sound it makes when shifting. That just can't be replicated with a manual.
Why is it that there are literally no good cars available? People shill cars like the Mazda3 or Golf GTI but then you look into it and it really is just like trying to polish a turd. Who cares if the "steering" feels good or if it has some meme differential in the front that helps with handling? It's still some FWD economy piece of shit.
So you look into the next level: Golf Rs, WRXs, Type Rs, etc... and then you're forced to deal with the inevitable realization that you're paying $35k-$40k for a fucking high stressed 4 banger that just tries to be fast but isn't
Now you're looking into the first reasonable batch of cars since you've started the journey: BMW 1 or 2 series. You look at the M235. It looks nice. N55 RWD Coupe? Only $30-$35k pre-owned? Not a bad deal, but you're buying a car that is unreliable as it is brand new and are going to be forced to drive it into the ground since no one in their right mind is going to buy a fucking M BMW when its close to 100k miles. Even with that in mind, you are seriously beginning to consider it. Then you realize you might want the X-Drive. Now you're looking at $38k. Then you realize that the Audi RS3 exists and it's literally the perfect fucking car but it retails for $55k. Then you realize its brand fucking new so there are no used or pre-owned on the market.
Now you're at the end of the fucking road, unhappy with literally every car on the market, and are forced to reconcile with the fact that the Prius is unironically the perfect fit for what you need. Fuck I hate you all

lmfao they're quitting because the new adblue scandal will take a lot of funds from them
the original dieselgate already forced Audi to quit

Abandoned '72 Stingray anon again. I jacked the car up, changed the oil, oil filter, removed the rear wheels and brake calipers, removed the sparkplugs and individually oiled the cylinders. Removing the sparkplugs and oiling the cylinders was somewhat annoying because of their location, and some of the plugs were stuck but I got them all out. I am now unable to turn the engine over by hand. I used a torque wrench on the crankshaft bolt set to 80 ftlbs, but the flywheel wont turn. The bolt itself tightened somewhat, so I backed it off. I really don't want to strip the crankshaft bolt with a breaker bar and am unsure what I should do now. Would removing all the belts help, or should I just go buy a flywheel tool. Maybe I am retarded and am missing something obvious, but if the engine is seized, it may be beyond my skill the fix it.
Almost no DOT fluid in the brake lines, and looked like some rust in the reservoir as well. I hope the engine can turn over, if it doesn't that is a can of worms I would really not rather open. So very many things could be wrong and I don't want to try and rebuild a 350 SBC that was sitting for three decades.

You left the spark plugs out right?
/o/ what are some good muscle cars that were not made in America?

Aston Martin can't be muscle due to the luxury, plus most of them would be classed as grand tourers

I'd argue things like the Jag XJS V12, the Opel KAD cars, and maybe the Volvo 262C, although that's probably a bit underpowered

Average person can do 100W of power, there's 12 so that vehicle can do 1.2kW at the, um, crank and probably a cool 1kW to the wheels. Don't know how sustainable that is, you might start getting tired bitches complaining after a while.

What went so wrong that they're quality seemingly plummeted in the last decade?
Or have the only good things theyve pumped out been vans and sports cars?
up
Fucking Renault, that's why. I've heard they don't even consider the next gen of the Z a priority and want to can it.
Their entry level and commercial vehicles are fine. Plenty of mediocrity with everything else.
I guess they want people to get Infinitis instead of Maximas and Zs?
They got stealth bought out by Renault. They're just another brand of a shitty French carmaker now. They knew if they got bought out outright, that people would perceive them as a shitty French carmaker and flee their brand, so they did it as quiet as they could, so they could trick as many of their loyal customers into buying their shit before they figured it all out.

A shitty engine
Let's talk about mr2s /o/.
I'm planning on building a car come next summer, but im having a hard time deciding what route to go with. I'm going with a zzw30, not an sw20.
My end game for the car is a 2zz/6 speed swap with billet rods, forged low comp wiseco pistons and a gt28 turbo kit from mwr. I'm aiming for about 300-350 wheel. All said and done the engine work will cost about 12k if I do everything myself.
I'm reading a lot of comments though that say it's not worth swapping to a 2zz if I plan on turboing the car. They say ill be better off building the 1zz to take a turbo despite its inferior design and oil burning issues.
I love boosted cars, but even if the 2zz/6 speed swap is the first thing I do to the car, it will get boosted eventually, no matter what route I go.
Wat do guys?
ZZW30 owner here. If I had 12k to do a swap, I'd pick up a K-series and turbo it. You can make stupid power without having to open the engine up. But if you're a purist, then I say go for it. I'm planning on doing a 2ZZ swap too, but I'm staying N/A.
>>17626307
>going with a ZZW30, not a SW20
Then post a ZZW30 retard.
Anyways the 2ZZ is the objectively better engine and only costs 1k, and it does bolt right in. But either way if you're so autistic about boosting your engine you may as well do a K swap.
>>17626340
I'm a bit of a purist desu but I'll look into a k20 turbo swap. My only reqs is that it be boosted, making 300whp and be fairly reliable. If I can make more power for the same money, I'll violate a spyder.
