I need information on changing it out without having to drop my gas tank. Essentially I want to cut through the back to it and save myself (a lot of) time.
Does anyone here have a recommendation or previous experience with this?

Just take it to your local independent dealer, he could do with the money anyway.

You will damage the tank. Just drop it. It's shit easy.
Not that easy plus I don't have that kind of money and it has to be done today
Really no one can help out on this situation?
Just do it the right way fag

You know the tank is held up by straps right?

You can drop the tank in 15 minutes.
I've dropped SUV tanks. Just put a jack under it and unbolt the straps and retaining stuff. And hoses.
Yes it can be done, but a better question is 'should it be done?'.
I faced this when my Suburban's fuel pump crapped out with a full tank of gas. Yes, it's easy to remove the straps and hoses and lower the tank, but when it's filled with 40+ gallons you start looking at alternatives.
Not sure about those blazers, but a Suburban's can be accessed by cutting a hole in the floor just above the tank and you can pull the pump straight out. This is good because gm fuel pumps suck balls and you will probably have to change it again. But it's also bad because you've just cut into the body, possibly through support pieces, and you'll have to mend that shit somehow.
In your case, I would try dropping that smaller tank and do it the right way.

I don't see the problem? Just drive the car until there's less fuel
