Can someone give me a short lesson on how wet nitrous works? I'm ignorant on this topic and fairly new to cars and mechanics.

I drive an 06 Mustang GT with longtubes, catted h pipe, flowmaster outlaws and an JLT air intake with a 93 octane bama tune. Now, I don't know anything about nitrous. How does it work exactly? How long can you use it for? How long do bottles last? How much do they cost to re-fill? Where do I refill them?

Thanks

Can someone give me a short lesson on how wet nitrous works?
it injects fuel to keep up with the extra nitrous supply

How does it work exactly?
more oxygen is injected so you can burn more fuel, whichs makes you go faster
nitrous is for cooling

How long can you use it for?
as long as the bottle or ur engine lasts
as the bottle gets empty you will have less pressure, so try to keep it properly filled

How long do bottles last?
depends how much you are injecting

How much do they cost to re-fill?
pretty cheap

Where do I refill them?
anywhere that sells N2O

if you are installing a wet system make sure you do it right or you are going to blow up your intake
also, mad trips when inhaling it

10/10 best form of forced induction would use again
>>

Not the same guy but can u give me a rundown on dry nitrous systems then? I thought the nitrous was the fuel. I was under the impression that the N2O was burning and you did not need to inject more fuel the way you do in say, a Turbo system where the Turbo is adding more air.

How long can you use a bottle for? For what sizes too?

Help me 4Chan /o/, you're my only hope.
Tomorrow morning, about 6 hours from now, I'm going to look at a 1998 BMW 328i sedan. I have been in the market for a cheap but reliable car for awhile as I am a 19 year old student who worked through highschool so I could have money in college and not work. This 328 has 135K miles and is an auto. Will this car be reliable? I can do most basic wrenching myself if it's covered online and is included in my dads tool set. That means I can do the water pump and most and the rest of the cooling system if it's not too hard. The guy selling it wants $1,700 but I'll talk him down to $1,500.
I would greatly appreciate any input on the reliability or high mileage ownership of these cars as well as any common problems

>>
That's a good deal already anon. Those cars are solid if we'll maintained. The cooling system isn't great, so change the water pump and thermostat if they haven't been done before. Also the ball joints in the front suspension might be a bit worn by now so plan on changing those eventually. Other than that, just change all the fluids and it'll be great.
>>
that's a 5 series in your pic not a 328
>>
>>15232101
Sorry for the late reply but I had to investigate and you're right, it is a 528i and it had been mislabeled in the ad. Thank you for that. With it being a 5 series instead of 3 does that introduce any common problems, electrical gremlins, etc? I'm kinda going into this blindly and I don't want to buy it if, should things not pan out, I can't sell it for what I bought it for or slightly more. Thank you guys in advance, I'm going to see it in about an hour.

stance is EXCESSIVE lowering, and RETARDED offsets and stretched tires.
good handling on a budget:
Mess around with your swaybars (try one on, one off, none on etc), lower your car a little, get stickier tyres.
there are some pretty well prices Coilovers out there for most cars, get some with camber top adjusters for even better handling adjustment.

Hold onto your donuts, LAPD is getting 100 BMW i3s, LA residents can relax because the city's criminals won't be able to outrun the cops by simply driving further than the i3's 300 km (186 mi) range. The department will run the cars on a three-year lease, before reassessing the options out there. As a part of the deal with BMW,

Police Chief Charlie Beck says the fleet of i3s will save help save taxpayer money in the long run.

"Electric vehicle procurement made sense for taxpayers and for the environment," Beck says. "Every dollar we save from lower maintenance will go back into law enforcement to keep our city safe. And while our new electric cars will be used only for non-emergency purposes, we will continue to monitor and test new generations of vehicles for their potential to serve as patrol cars."

With LA traffic, they don't have to worry about being fast enough. Traffic moves at a crawl all the fucking time.

Why would anyone buy a new car when it's just going to lose all its "value" in a couple of years even if you leave it sitting in your garage with 0 miles? Let's take the Miata for example. In 1993 it cost $14,650 ($24k in 2016 dollars), now in the present year on Craigslist said car is only worth 3k (1.8k in 1993 dollars) and 5k (3k) for lower mileage (50k or less)

So your 14k brand new car if left in immaculate condition and barely driven is only worth 18% of what you paid for it.

That was using an example with a car from 1993, it's even worse for modern cars because they cost more (even after adjusted for inflation) yet they still lose value equally!

New car should mean no issues for several years and you have a warranty otherwise.
>>
I put 75k miles on my car over 3 years and lost less than $5k off of it. Not all cars depreciate at the same rate and if you plan on keeping it for the long term, there's no reason to concern yourself with it's resale value.

I'm about to go out and buy a GMC Canyon tomorrow.

I want a comfortable vehicle that's practical, and has a nice ride height for my bad back. The Canyon fits all those parameters that's not a full-blown SUV or Crossover. I test drove a bunch of different shit, and this was the best blend of price, comfort, practicality, and daily use.

My question is... am I making a mistake? I don't have many uses buying a full-sized pickup, but would it be better if I got one over the Canyon?

Also: is spending another $10k on a loaded version with the duramax that much better than a loaded version without the Duramax? I'm not going to be hauling heavy loads, so even the I4 would be fine. I'd prefer the V6 for the extra power, but the most I'm going to be hauling is some motorcycles, my track car, or off-road vehicles.

The thing is going to be my new DD since my back got fucked up recently and I can't daily my MS3 anymore. So I'm turning that into a track car.

hate the noise, can't wait until cars go electric.

these so called "car-lovers" love their car so much that they want to change them.

couple of my friends "mod" their car. riding in their car gave me headache from the constant thumping bass that resonate in my head.

even some high-end or super cars, i think they shouldn't modified that. most of the time when you modified the car through a third party company; the car just looses its sophistication and turns into childish and tasteless abomination.

have been to several tribunals re the neighbours "p" Plated Brat & his hooney mates, I live in a small complex ( set of 5) which is a one car driveway all the way around to our villa and his mothers one. We are built up both sides of the fences, the noise vibrates the fences

Nothing like sitting at the lights in a nice twilight zone, and then a noisy car/bike goes straight past the window shocks you back into reality.

Proper enthusiasts who mod their cars for power don't go for excessive noise. It's not necessary & only serves to alert the po po that you have something non standard under the hood

whats more funny is how their noisy car usually runs really slow even at max throttle, and the quiet no-noise one overtake them effortlessly.

ultimate embarrassment? no?

why would you want to draw attention to yourself in a shitty car?

Unfortunately most people with loud exhausts have them on shit 4cyls, e.g. preludes, lancers, etc, so it sounds bad. Listen to a worked v8 with a stainless exhaust. Sounds epic

Well last night i managed to buy a supra shell (literally nothing in the engine bay) for dirt cheap off my mate.

Since it has no engine, i'm going to need to fix that obviously, so i spent last night running the numbers.

By my calculations i can spend 10 grand on a nice built 2jz-gte or a ls to get the amount of hp i want.

>Cost is near equal on both.
>I'm leaning towards the LS because i read it's easy as fuck to wire, i've already calculated the pre-fabbed kit in the price of a build and parts are everywhere here, it has an even better aftermarket
>Not sure if it will throw handling out of whack though, but everything i read online says it sits lower and further back, as well as being lighter than the long iron block 2jz

Can someone offer some input here? Considering the above factors i'm thinking ls swap will be the most cost efficient option, also giving me better handling and that lovely v8 sound/driveability on the street.

Are there any downsides i have missed other than a purist sperging out at the very notion?

>>
Why not turbo 20b swap?
>>
>>15230222
Wanting high amounts of torque at low rpm, it just makes street driving nice.

I was originally planning on just buying the 2jz-gte, but the more i read tells me a ls swap could be pretty fucking awesome.

I read that it's lighter, sits further back and further down for better weight distribution.

Infact, the only problem seems to be it makes purists sperg the fuck out.

I personally don't see the problem as the car has no engine right now, it's my duty to pick the better engine, no?
>>
>>15230219
I don't know if this will be much input but i know of a ls3 swapped supra (not personally) here in Australia that is just fucking terrifying.

I've ran into it a few times on the streets and chatted with the bloke once, it's just really fucking tuff. Demolished my 507 walkinshaw package, if that's anything to go by.

Apparently the guy's spent over a hundred grand plus though, he's got full carbon fiber re-panelling and shit.

As a holden lover i think you're dead on mate, do the fucking swap. The engine is the one amazing thing about our cars.
