I have a leak in one of my tires. It's not necessary flat. Right now I can't afford to change the tire. Is fix-a-flat a long term solution to this issue, assuming the leak is neither on the sidewall nor in the stem?
25 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
it's not even a temporary solution.
just go get it patched for $15
>>
The proper answer is no, fix a flat is not a permanent solution.

That being said, I have ran 2 or 3 tires on fix a flat for a year or more. Ran last one a year then refilled with faf a couple months ago. Still fine.

How much does it cost to lay down an asphalt road?

I'm thinking of buying some cheap land out in the middle of nowhere (like, super cheap, it's only around a thousand dollars an acre because it's hundreds of miles out in the middle of nowhere) and just pouring my own road to fuck around on. I'm willing to get a concrete and asphalt mixer and do all the work myself, I just want to get an idea of how much that costs in general

You need a manual to swap an oilpan on a 1 9 8 2 COROLLA?
>>
>>15227801

is there anything blocking the pan? should be balls easy on an old Toyota
>>
>>15227801
Just remove anything that is blocking the oilpan, drain out oil, remove the 20000 screws holding it on. Clean the gasket surface on engine and oilpan, if it has a gasket use a new one, if it had no gasket us gasket sealer but make sure the surface it clean and smooth.

People seriously cant drive manuals? Is this actually a thing? I thought it was a meme. Getting out of first on a hill is literally the hardest thing. It takes 2 minutes to figure it out, and it's easy from there. 1 week driving a manual and you should be an expert. I feel sad now that I know these people exist.

Sure, With diesel prices going back up I am going to start to turn my 2006 Dodge ram into a used veg oil truck. I am running a 50/50mix of diesel/waste oil right now and the truck is running normal. I am going to play around with my fuel system over the next few weeks/months and keep updating my youtube page. So others who have thought about doing it them self...will be able to see what I have done..and how its working for me...thats the short of it really.

Alright /o/ I don't really see many threads about this topic. I'm looking to buy my own car, used of course. I've been thinking of financing it and just making payments every month.

A little bit about me

I'm 20 years old. I work full time right now. I make min wage 9.47 an hour, i work full 40 hours a week and in a two week pay period i usually end up going 10-20 hours overtime. Overtime here is time and a half at $14. It's not much but still adds up.

I work in retail sales and get a base pay(above) and commission. Last months commission came to 500 dollars (avg. being around 200-300) and i'm planning on saving all of that towards car fund.

The cars I'm currently interested are something 1996-2010. I'm wanting to get a car about under 10,000 dollars. I'm probably going to end up going to a bank for a prequalified car loan or something. I'm way too impatient to gather all the money and would rather just make payments while driving around. I can pay my own insurance also. It's going to be my first car ever. I work like 9 miles away from home and it's really annoying taking the bus and uber all the time back and forth.

Some cars I'm interested are Subaru, Mitsubishi bcos Jap, Chevy Malibu cos American, Mercedes idk why.

I think that's all the relevant info I can put, if you guys need anymore I will be happy to answer!

I just bought a t94 toyota corolla yesterday, some guy my dad knows was selling it for a low price so just took it. I got tired of driving my dad's bluebird nissan (that couldn't drive on weekends) and wanted something of my own.

I prefered to go for a cheap beater as a first car, many people recommended me that.
>>
>>15227655
>>15227548
Like this guy said, I'd advise that you get a cheap beater. You will bump it while parking, you'll scratch it, hell you might even crash it but if its a cheap beater it won't hurt you that bad.
>>
>>15227548
>I make min wage 9.47 an hour

Fraid not, federal minimum is 7.25 an hour. dont claim that you make minimum unless it federal minimum.

Well /o/ I recently acquired a 1992 Ford Probe LX for free through a friend (long story short he's moving across the country and is giving up a lot of his unfinished project cars). My Question is, Is it worth keeping around? My buddy rebuilt a lot of the engine so I don't have to worry too much about mechanical problems but I'm just not sure what could be done with it honestly.

More photos to come.

What is the European LS equivalent? Doesn't have to be a V8, just an accessible way to make good power.

Leaving out shit like >Imported LS.

Most //M BMW engines.
Rover V8 (It's a V8, but you shouldn't do this)
literally anything Cosworth/Lotus

I mean, that's just three off the top of my head, there's a lot of tuning companies here, so there are usually some good 2nd hand engines floating around you can cannibalise.

But I'm British, so it could be different elsewhere.

putting in the biggest engine available for your model by butchering them or buying a set from someone who butchered a totaled car for you.

basically //M or AMG
VR6 or R32/R36 for vag

crate engines are an american thing
here in yuropoor they basically don't exist
>>
mostly bigger bmw engines, turbo volvos and generally the biggest turbo engine that fits in your car

Hey guys want to buy a used car from a dealership (gonna finance) and would like some tips on negotiating down those ludicrous prices I see. Any tips or tricks on whittling down the price?

A few I've seen is calling at the end of the month, after bad weather, and etc. These apparently motivate salesmen to make sales that wouldn't make sense during a good period but do when times are slow.

What cars? How much are you spending? How's your credit? How much do you make a month? How much down?
>>
>>15226956

All pretty much irrelevant when it comes this thread but I'll bite. Looking for general tips for helping talk down those used car dealer prices.

Looking for 2011+ Sedans, I.E. Camry, I want to spend around 10-12k. Credit sucks. Make about 2000 a month, and all I have is a trade in worth 6.5k Private Party.
>>
I imagine you could call them out on any defects or damage visible if it's a used vehicle and haggle them down

if you add lightness, it replaces displacement and makes your car handle better.
