Has anybody heard anything about these?
On one hand, I've heard so many stories of plug-in things just being a placebo thing that just has lights.
On the other hand my car has god awful throttle delay that I really want to alleviate.

There are some really decent fwd cars, with good lap times and quick acceleration and handling.
They are good in in the snow and for the average driver they are safer to control.

The FWD vs RWD debate is stupid because no car has been made in both FWD and RWD versions*. What makes a FWD or RWD car better than another won't just be the drivetrain layout because there will be other differences too.

it's interesting that the power cut happens at higher rpm's though, you'd think that if it was a detonation problem they would cut maximum torque in the entire rev range.
Maybe it's to prevent the turbo from overspinning?

So I had an idea.
WHy not have a piston that has compression on both strokes? So when it compresses on one side, it is intaking on the other, and when it is detonated, it is exhausting the other.
This could, technically, be done with a low pressure oil path through the piston for lubrication, and one or two crankshafts (because you could also *pull* on the piston.

The connecting rod is a solid rod sealed by a piston-ring style arrangement in the header.

The Honda Del Sol is not a kei car. It's too big.
Here are literal kei cars that HAVE been sold in America:
Suzuki Samurai
Suzuki Sidekick
Geo Tracker
Smart Fortwo
Geo Metro
Suzuki Swift
Suzuki X90
Everything else you find in America that's a kei car is imported. Keep in mind the engines for American market cars are twice the displacement and often more than twice as powerful because 'merica.

yes. The Del Sol is too big to be a kei car. japanese regulations are extremely strict, restricting kei cars to specific dimensions (length, and width, but no specifications for height). All Kei cars MUST have a 660 cc engine (just barely over half a liter) and can produce no more than 64 HP at most.
The only kei car in existence to not use every scrap of size allowed by the regulations is the Smart Fortwo.
