Hey, I have a 2005 Toyota Avensis that's starting to fall apart. Since its' A/C broke down it feels like a fucking lit gas chamber in it. What's more, when I went to start it up today I stalled. I started again then I stalled almost immediately. When I finally took off after the 5th try I noticed that it was MUCH MUCH weaker than before, like the RPM dial took 1.5 seconds to hit the redline. Turns out I wasn't giving it enough gas since I was so used to it requiring just a gentle touch of the pedal to get going. Now I almost pressed it all the way in just to start. All this happened out of the fucking blue. And yes before you ask, it was in 1st gear. What could be wrong with it, /o/?

You're kidding right? They removed it from the pickup/Navara based SUV and turned it into a glorified Altima wagon with a lousy centre of gravity?

I'm an idiot when it comes to cars and paying for oil changes is expensive. What do I need to buy to make changing the oil in my '14 Toyota RAV4 convienent and not a huge pain in the ass? I'm technically competent and have tools, just don't know much about automobiles. Have a funnel, no stands or pan. Will use synthetic. Thanks for the pointarus.
The biggest pain in the ass is disposing of the oil properly, but not everyone has easy access to the Chicago River.
>>15404409
>Drain pan
>Socket/wrench to remove drain plug
>Oil filter wrench
>Place pan under oil drain after warming up the oil by driving/running the car for a short time
>Remove drain plug, drink a beer while you wait for it to drain
>Once all is drained replace plug, "firm" should be enough torque
>Place pan under oil filter
>Loosen filter with oil filter wrench, then remove by hand
>Oil new oil filter o-ring with thin coating of new oil
>Turn it until it meets the mating surface, then turn it 3/4 to 1 full turn past that
>Fill oil with funnel
Tada
Aside from oil+filter, get a can like this.

my guess is 3100lbs
2500-2800 lbs
>>15403973
It will not weigh too much, nor too little. It shall weigh precisely as much as it needs to.
So I'm looking to buy some new rims for my ride, I really like the look of the jr11 but from what I hear they are a peice of crap which is not surprising considering the price. I've thought about abs 355 but wannna check what you can throw at me before I make up my mind.
tl;dr: post some rims!
Aight guys I need an estimate of the cost of a sound system for my truck. The truck is a 1994 Chevy Silverado single cab.
$23.60 if you pay cash
>>15403717
I'm talking about speakers, subwoofers, amps, ect.... You're probably trolling tho
Around 500 for a decent medicore system of you install it by yourself
>Screw break off
>brake job done
>go to put wheels back on
>studs are stretched and cross-threading themselves
>late at night, everything's closed.
outer has become worn
go to replace it but it was put in cross threaded in the first place
>>15403720
outer what? FUCXXKING WHAT? TELL ME, ASSHOLE
Look how pigfat the miata is
>>15403381
the miata is lighter than both tho
>>15403394
>lighter means better

Listen, the sheer technological innovation alone that goes into the Koenigsegg, if it could be measured, would weigh more than that gayboy roadster "Miata". The Koenigsegg is a masterpiece of Aryan engineering, its owner is a decent man with admirable passions and noble goals. He, like many of us, has a true love for automobiles. The Miata on the other hand is made by soulless orientals who see nothing but their bottom line. These people have no sense of passion, whatever will sell more models to the dumbed down, jewish-controlled American masses is what will be built. There is no verve, no panache. The Miata is a perfect example of an end result. Of course I mean the result of the consumerist culture perpetuated by those-who-shall-not-be-named to poison the soul of the white man.
So yes, maybe your little "Miata" weighs less. Hell, maybe it even costs less, but the weight on your soul will be immense, and a clean conscience has no price tag. You know what you're buying and deep down, you know how you truly feel about it. Your'e not fooling anyone.
>The year is 2010
>Society has crumbled
>You are in australia, with major cities destroyed
>You have your trusty car and 100 liters of guzzoline
What car are you driving, how is it modified to be prepared for the wasteland and how do you plan on surviving.
>not driving a diesel
found your first major problem
Anything V8 mah nigga.

>You are in australia, with major cities destroyed
You could have just said I'm in Australia
>taking public speaking class over summer for general education credit
>have to give a speech about an event we're interested in
>decide to do D1 Grand Prix
>write it out, rehearse it well
>go up there today
>"So today I'm going to talk about the D1 Grand Prix"
>scattered laughter for some reason
>throughout the speech every time I say D1 Grand Prix there's some snickering
>Finish with something like "that's why I like the D1 Grand Prix"
>Guffaws
>All the girls are laughing at me
I don't get it why were they laughing? What's funny about a drifting contest?
You probably have a lisp and it sounded like you were saying "piss".
>>15402909
Drifting is fucking gay.
>>15402944

Okay so you engine swapped a 4banger with another 4banger engine? Congrats on your great success
>>15402919
something tells me you would be upset that it is a 1.6 liter
>>15402930
Naw I'd be upset you didn't turbo it or supercharge it, and you call it a build
You swapped engines for less than a 100 horsepower gain?
plz help
so I was driving, going about 40 in 4th and come to a stop sign
>clutch in, go to 3rd clutch slowly out
>same with second
>do woth 1st, when I let the clutch all the way out
POP!, shifter moves from 1 to neutral
what happened, did I fuck up? car still runs and shifts
>>15402791
Kinda yes and no, first gear is fucked + you tried to let the clutch out without rev matching while going too fast, leave it in second next time.
>>15402800
I was going about 10mph and I didn't rev at all, is that bad? I do the same thing on my motorcycle all the time, just downshifting and braking at the same time coming to a red
>>15402791
There is absolutely no reason to down shift through all the gears when coming to a stop on an H pattern.
Coming from fifth or sixth doing over 60 I typically rev match to third and leave it at that then stop.
Coming from 40mph I wouldn't even bother revmatching
that being said it sounds like you didnt push it in far enough, or the synchro is going in first.
I am not sure this is the right place but I need help finding out what this is. I have a 2007 vw rabbit and my brother said he stalled in the freeway and the car won't start now. It won't even crank. The EPC light, check engine and battery light are all now on. I push started the car and it started right up and drove perfectly. When I turned it off it had the same problem and wouldn't start on again. I found this wire plugged into a sensor hanging. What might it be? Or is this unrelated. More pictures in thread.
Another view of it disconnected
>>15402724
Looks like a connector.
>>15402724
can you replicate the push start reliably?
