I am fucking at wits end, /o/.

I also checked the make sure the lifter moved freely in it's bore.
Still, my engine likes to bend this one single pushrod like a wet noodle.

What about the valve itself?
Redpill me on the Ford Bronco
Should I buy one or not?
The one im looking at is a 1993 5spd manual and has a 302 v8
Broncos are nothing but nostalgia. Tons of better 4x4s out there.
If you want ease of maintenance, go with a K5 Blazer. The 350 is an easy motor to replace or fix.
If you want to pay the extra buck, go for a Jeep with a 4.0
If you want to go full retard, then Isuzu.
slow around tsukuba

Also if you buy one, I hope you're ready for a lot of people to mention The Juice
I just saw an ad for a used 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier z24 for under $2000. Is this a good pick? I'm new to this car business.
>>15397339
>is it a good pick
No, it doesn't even have EcoBoost.
OP I got a 2003 Cavalier LS Sport Coupe for $1500. It's aesthetically okay (scratches and minor rust in typical Cavalier spots) but the internals are all top shape. It's a nifty econobox for sure. Handles well too.
>>15397339
1: 2002 was the last year for the Z24 trim level of the Cavalier. That Z24 badge was bought and stuck on. Not a huge deal but figured I'd point it out.
2: That is what replaced the Z24 in the Cavalier line, the LS Sport.
and yea. It's a great car. The Ecotec Cavaliers are the best J-body cars out there. reliable, great aftermarket, decent fun to drive, piss easy engine to work on, etc, etc
So /o. I'm building a drift truck
So far I know this 87 ranger
(non running) I need a bed.
I want to put a 3.8l in it
Then turbo
Anybody got better idea
>>15397190
>3.8L
Put a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in it instead.
You'll never finish and your wife will leave you.

What's the best way to make more power out of a 12a? I'm looking at one for a first car, since I don't need anything really reliable since I'm still in school and I'd prefer something fun.
The reason I'm looking at an FB over an FC is because it's cheaper and lighter. I know that the 13b is much better overall than the 12a, but I don't really care.
Since a stock 12a only makes about 100bhp, what are some of the best ways to gain more power from it? I know that a street port, an exhaust and an intake manifold are a good way to get some gains, but I'm not sure how much.
I'm mainly looking to use the RX7 as a daily driver and a drift car, but not competitively or anything.
I'm looking mainly for about 150whp. Would I be able to achieve that with
>RB Full Exhaust
>RB Intake Manifold
>Mild-Big Street Port
>Maybe a new Carb
What else can I do
Honestly I'd leave it stock. My first car was 35 years old and had a total of 65hp and it was fun as fuck because you could drive it really hard and never particularly be breaking the road rules.
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow, and, 150hp isn't really enough power to justify spending the money that the modifications would require. 150hp wouldn't make it a 'fast' car, so you'd still be driving a slow car despite having spent 10k in modifications.
>12a makes 100hp
Made 100hp when brand new. At a guess, unless it has been really well maintained, ~85hp would be more what you can expect out of a car that old.
Swap in a turbo 13b
just chuck a cam in it
So how many? I'm talking Autocross, HPDE, RallyX, wheel to wheel, fuck even carts. How many of you experts have ever actually tur ed a wheel in timed competition or a the track more than once? Pic related, Me winning D Prepared SCCA in my local region, been out 4x this year, finances limit me because brokefag but... racecar. Absolutely love it.
>>15396790
Ya I went out conefagging in the dirt with my 100whp subaru a year ago. Not much motorsport stuff near to me.
I placed 6th out of 40 with most cars ahead of me having double the power.
>>15396790
Just no.
I do chase racing, across town sprints, valley road canyon runs, and back road drag racing. There is no race track within 150km of me. I do what I can for racing around here,
Sup /o/ thinking of checking out this Impreza over the weekend, it seems like a nice project for daily drive. What should i look out for with this car? I plan on checking the car out on weekend then bringing to local shop for a thorough inspection

Can anyone translate the top job for me in retard speak? I have no idea what they did except for the vacuum leak. Why did it take 400$ in labor is what I'm wondering. Its the first major service I do on a used g8 I bought so I figured I would take it to the dealer for a proper inspection. I knew I'd pay more but I want to understand what they did exactly and how hard I was sheckeled
Your check engine light came on because you didn't tighten your gas cap enough. The tech checked the evap system, determined it was the gas cap, and tightened it. He also replaced an oil pressure sensor. Then he went on a road test to make sure the problem was fixed. The cost is parts + labor that you agreed to.
>>15396462
Yea OK..took a week after filling up eh
>>15396514
Your car doesnt run evap tests constantly. Basically how it works is it either pressurizes or vaccuums the system and measures the pressure/vacuum decay to determine if theres a leak and how big.
Cars only do this under certain circumstances, ie coolant between two points, fuel level betweeen two points, and under certain driving conditions.
The only trouble codes that show up immediately are circuit codes.
Source- i do this for a living.
Jealous, poorfags? Took years of hard work and dedication, but now that I'm wealthy I can enjoy the finer things in life. Just picked up this clean F50, going out on the town tonight.

Could I hear your thoughts on the Elantra Touring?
Also known as the Hyundai i30 outside of the states.
I might be looking at a manual '11 SE model tomorrow, it's priced at ~$8k which is around my budget right now for a hatchback/wagon to go to college with. Also looking at the Honda Fit.
I've heard last gen Hyundais and Kias are pretty good value right now, any other "hidden gem" type cars I should known about?

Looking to sell my 2009 RalliArt, it has 102,xxx miles and is stock except for the Borla catback system I had installed. Could any anons give me an estimate of what they think it's worth. Pic related, it's the car
i think its worthless and people who own actual evos see you as being tryhard
t. evo owner
honestly I'm surprised the transmission lasted that long.
last year I replaced the transmission In a 2012 ralliart with shy of 40k miles on it. Shit was under warranty and HEAVY AS FUCK. also being shoehorned in there dosent help either.
MFW - 2012 ralliart comes in with check engine light. Step 1 check usual shit. Step 2 replace transaxle.
>>15396290
Not trying to compete with Evos, I don't brag about the car like it's an Evo either. I got it because I could afford it and it's not ugly or terribly slow.
That you think about car on pic? Country/Price/And so on.
>>15396134
Looks like something Kia would have sold 10 years ago
>>15396134
I would buy it just because of thiose bodylines in the fenders and doors
look fantastic

Looks like a modern Nissan
Bought my girlfriends Supra from this kid a year ago, and still had him on Facebook from when we were negotiating.
I guess he saw one or my posts about wanting to get rid of my Maxima & now wants to trade his gutted & stripped RX7 for it.
Only thing is, my other 2 cars are shitbox money pits that can't really be used for commuting, & the RX7 is still road legal with comfy stock suspension.
Meanwhile my other cars
> SR swap 240sx
Turbo back exhuast with gearing too agressive for long distance driving (4k rpms at 80mph,) stiff as fuck track suspension, parts sometimes fall off because I attached a bunch of new things to an old thing.
>turbo LSx 2nd gen Camaro
Reliability of a 6.0 LS engine, with the unpredictablty of a chinese 76mm turbo pushing it to 600whp. All while the engine sits on a stand in a shop & the car sits at my dads house while I look for a new trans.
So if I took the Maxima out of the picture, I'd probably be dailying a 25 year old rotory RX7 while trying to finish my other 2 cars.
If the Maxima wasn't so boring I'd probably just say no, but it's just not a fun car at all. At what point am I suppose to settle down & just drive a normal car?
blog post o the day
Why the fuck wouldn't you just sell the 240 and buy an RX7?
>complaining about 4,000 revs @ 80 mph
I don't want to turn this into a dickwaving contest, but that really is nothing, anon
This is my car. Ask your questions.
