My battery light came on and all my shit started to die, speedo and odo read zero despite me riding down the road, then the car began to die all together
I figured it was the alternator, so I got a new battery and stuck it in and got my multimeter. I put the leads onto the battery terminals and it read about 13ish volts. I had my brother flip on the high beams, activate the wipers, turn on caution indicators, turn on the radio and air conditioning, etc. but the reading didn't drop any.
Wouldn't my voltage reading on the multimeter drop when all that stuff got turned on if my alternator was bad?
I was going to test the alternator itself but I can't reach the positive terminal to place the red lead from my multimeter on it to test it.
Could it be a wiring harness issue? Or maybe a bad coil?

My old battery was dead and 2 weeks away from the end of its warranty anyway. It was a cheapo from WalMart.
Either way, I wouldn't have been able to start the car with a dead battery.

Same price as mobile 1 full synthetic high mileage and Valvoline's full synthetic high mileage. I need my truck to last at least another 100,000 miles while I save up money for a new(er) and more powerful truck for work. I've owned this truck since 50,000 miles and used full synthetics since day one.
Is it being made from natural gas better?
Should I go with it or Mobile 1 or Valvoline?
Also engine has just over 200,000 miles on it. Is burning around a quart every 5000 miles (I change the oil and filter every 5000) normal?
There are no leaks and I haven't noticed any blue colored exhaust smoke. I drive this truck hard like it is a race car...that is towing trailers...

My car is pretty new, only had it a year and a half. 23k miles. Today I noticed a really high pitched squeaking/buzzing sound. I thought one of my speakers was messed up but I found out my AC was making the noise. Whenever I switch it to the top/feet setting the sound goes away, but when I switch it back to where just the upper vents are on the sound starts again. Anyone know what this sound is?
Yes I googled it and couldn't get a definitive answer, figured I'd come here.
