Is a CRX a good idea for a first car?
Will I have trouble finding parts?
Yes
No
Just install an alarm system, especially if you're in a lower class neighbourhood
yes
its a Honda
no
its a Honda
only problem is finding one in decent condition/not overpriced
>>15433887
yeah its basically a civic which is great for a first car
always lock your doors, get a quick release hub or an alarm cause nigs will try to steal it
There is no replacement for displacement. Yes or No?
Also substitute pic related for your favorite make/model big block engine or smaller high performance engine if you think No.
there is a replacement
it's called clever engineering
>>15433581
>There is no replacement for displacement
This isn't really debatable, it just matters how well you use that displacement.
Some engines suck ass some are god tier, depends on many many factors.
Of course there is, it's called less weight.
What's the most 80s gangster/drug dealer car you can think of?
>C126
In the 80s, the Mendellin cartel would just roll around Miami in caravans of these. It seems cool as fuck.
that would be an oldsmobile
i have bought and done literally hundreds of point in cannibis and cannibis oil while in oldsmobiles
>>15433368
also no cartel ever had motorcades of mercedes
the average drug dealer makes around 7$ per hour
> grown men who name their car
>>15433322
I find this weird too.
>>15433322
Fuck you and your nameless car.
Looking to buy a new car in the next several months to a year.
I am in law enforcement so kind of want my personal car to reflect that. I strongly prefer American cars.
With the Charger I would probably go with a R/T since the other ones are out of my price range.
With the Mustang a GT, although I am ashamed to admit the turbo 4 banger has my eye too.
Thoughts?
>>15432761
how would a GT reflect that you are in law enforcement?
>>15432815
Good question. It's slick and it's black I guess.
>>15432761
Get a Crown Vic and shut up
Why are white van drivers such cunts?
Seems like at least once a month some chav in a white van will shout or heckle some bullshit at me (can never understand what they're even saying)
I pray for the day one of these guys tries that shit with me and gets stuck at a red light
>>15432455
because the blue collar have more to care about than your hurt fucking feelings
>>15432469
Kill yourself
ragie wagies
those are work trucks with angry wageslaves in them making jack shit per hour and getting worked harder and harder.
meanwhile i've started my own space program and will be exploring the universe, so no need to be angry with my fellow road goers.
Is it hard to drive big cars in heavily populated areas?
Do you guys have a hard time finding parking spots, or fitting into garages, or navigating parking lots?
Only when trying to park, if I make a u-turn in a smaller street I may have to back up
>>15432292
what do you do when there are only tight spots? just try to wiggle in and hope the people on either side of you don't ding your doors?
>>15432290
You just brought up a memory
>Driving mom's honda pilot to CPCC in Charlotte
>go up parking structure
>find end space hardly any room
>scrape front end on corner of wall
>3 months later
> dad "why did you mess up your moms new car"
>go back to starcraft, last i hear of it
feel bad even though she totaled my car a year prior and let the person drive away
hey guise New Zealander here looking to buy first car. my budget is about 3k nz max is a mitsubishi fto GPX 1995 a reasonable car?
here is link to the car im gonna look at http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/mitsubishi/auction-1119474075.htm
>>15431636
Reasonable for the price, but the electrical gremlins that come with a 90s Mitsu will bite sooner or later.
>>15431652
Is that something that can be fixed? I will have a bit of money to spend maintaining it but if it borks the car or costs an assload it won't be worth it. Im also gonna look at at 2.5k Toyota Cynos http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/toyota/auction-1120739857.htm but I'd rather the mitsu
I know we all have our 'dream garages' and a list of cars we'd buy in a picture perfect scenario. But what is the -first- car you'd buy in a financial windfall? Pay off your current car? Trash that shit for some shiny new wheels? What would be your first pick?
2016 tahoe.
idk man it just looks comfy af
sell the ep3 and get myself a nice mint evo 6.
2016 dodge viper or a corvette z06
id have to test drive both and see, but as of now i lean towards the viper
Sup /o/. Just got my permit (18 by the way and just outta school) and drove for the first time three days ago and been driving in my empty high school parking lot with my dad as a teach only since. I can up to this point maneuver around the entire school and around my neighborhood well enough even with another car coming by. But earlier yesterday my mom decided to teach me and wanted me to drive from the school to my house which is a fucking 8 mile drive without ever going on the main road before and still having trouble knowing when to switch between the gas and brakes. I was fine turning and all but wasn't used to going 40 on such a damn curved and hilly road. Am I just a puss or this normal and it's simply too early for me to try? I did get nervous I'll admit. Share your personal experiences and how long it took for you to be on the road. Any pointers is a plus.
>>15431374
Do you post here often?
>>15431374
got my permit 3 weeks before drivers ed started. learned in parking lot or a day or two, then small roads. end of the week i was on a highway.
>>15431407
First post ever.
what is the most fucked up thing you've ever seen
me: for reasons I will probably never understand, someone put a diesel engine in a '62 stingray, along with an exhaust system that was clearly ripped out of a truck. The dealer was asking for $15,000 "since it can pass a smog test". Most of the interior was ripped out as well and replaced with sparco gunk. It was also missing a door.
>>15431228
That sounds horrifying. Although missing a door, no interior, and a drivetrain swap makes it sound like the thing was probably a worthless clapped out piece of shit before, so it might not be much of a waste
i was in college and i started playing beer pong with this cute girl
fast forward two hours and i'm fucking her from behind in my friends bathroom, but i'm not stupid so i pulled out and i was drunk so i jizzed everywhere. on the toilet, on the wall, the floor, everywhere but in this girl
yeah that's the most fucked up thing i've ever seen, jizz everywhere
>>15431424
Wow anon, great moves out there, proud of you
hi /o/, long time lurker - first time poster
I don't know if you guys are into NHRA but I thought I would post here cause I think this is relevant.
Art Chrisman died today
>dem feels
and if you don't know who he is:
Anyway, I'll get to the point. I got a bunch of pictures here of when he invited my father and I to his garage back in 2011.
He was truly a great man.
pic related: not many people have this picture
>his fridge is even badass
Will Matt smile like this once he realizes how stupid it was to lease his RS?
>>15430644
Theres nothing wrong with leasing, why stick with the same piece of shit instead of upgrading every 3 years
>>15430661
this
if you can afford it and dont modify your car like a child, leasing is the best option if you like driving newer cars/changing it up every few years
>>15430676
>modify your car like a child
Why are you here?
>currently have no car atm
>been searching for one since June
>anytime something I want comes up it gets purchased quick as fuck
my budget is under 6k and i live in New England.

>>15430428
>dailying an RX7

>>15430453

Those old NA rotaries are really reliable actually, google it
Car audio thread? Is there any stereos that don't look like they came off a spaceship in 2001?
FRS has the best stereo I've seen
Has all the modern features with a simple look
>>15430385
>Car audio thread? Is there any stereos that don't look like they came off a spaceship in 2001?
I mean, I completely understand the frustration and I wonder that myself but did this become a meme or something?
These threads are almost exactly phrased the same and reoccur like every 2 weeks
>>15430448
OP here its extremely frustrating, the best OE looking one I found was a $1500 Sony one (what the fuck is in it to be that much???). But I didn't realize this was a meme thread. I just bought a shit box and am now in the market for a new stereo and had no idea the designs haven't changed in 15 years. I don't want to look like a 16 year old with my stereo deck.
