If a rear wheel drive vehicle is towed the wrong way for approximately 1-2 miles, could that cause something to break - causing the engine to lock up?
>Fuel problem
>Truck dies on freeway
>Vehicle towed from the front with rear wheels spinning
>Pulls over at next exit
>Tow truck from behind
>Engine locks up completely now
>Sounds like something is trying to start then a clunk sound, and nothing
>>15560988
Was it in neutral?
>>15561040
I assume the guy had it in neutral
>>15561040
You'd know if it was in anything but neutral.
>>15560988
Yeah, it's got nothing to do with being towed.

What are the best mid size SUV's out today? I'm in the market for one.
Needs to have at least 4000lbs towing and AWD (so most likely a v6), and decently affordable. I test drove a Kia Sorento today and was pretty impressed

ITT: Your dream car
What is the going rate for a 2003 wrx with ~150k miles and in generally great condition, barring some hideous rice I'm going to have to remove?
He's asking 8,500 but I'm thinking more like 3,500 just because the hood offends me.
Pic unrelated but close enough.
well what is the condition, not aesthetically?
is the check engine light on? does it run like shit? does it make weird noises or rattle?
and i assume the tranny has been rebuilt? those had that weak as fuck first gear.
>>15560356
No idea, haven't checked it out in person yet. I'm not buying if any of that is going on, I just wanted a general idea of how low I could go based on aftermarket parts and rice alone assuming it isn't a rolling turd.
>>15560345
It's 105 dollars usd per ton for scrap steel right now. That should give you a good answer
Keeping with the times, I believe Porsche should make a truck.
Hear me out though, when Porsche made a 4 door car, everyone hated it. Now, it sells pretty well.
What do you guys think about a Porsche truck? Imagine doing 0-60 in 5 seconds with a load of wood!
My photoshop skills are not the best.
>>15560324
>0-60 in 5 seconds
Ford already does that with the F150 ecoboost.
>>15560330
But can it do it with a bed load of wood?
>>15560339
It can do it with my wood

What are some "cool" older cars that will appreciate in value later, but can be found cheap right now?
I want a cheap project car while I'm a part-time student for the next two years, I love the old Datsun 240z's but it seems like their price has already started to climb out of the price range of an older car and into that of a vintage classic
>>15560114
Foxbody mustang lx coupes. They've all been beaten and turned into drag sluts. Now's the time to buy them, they get more expensive every year.
>>15560124
For some reason the Foxbody style just isn't appealing to me. But I can see how they might appreciate soon being the older version of a popular car
>>15560124
This. Any remotely clean fox body is already ~5k near me. 10 years ago they were half that.

>compressor kicks on every 5 seconds, and has huge parasitic draw on the engine when it does
>hear "PSSSST" noise after the compressor turns on
>Now the ac is completely non-functional instead of partially non-functional
>wasted the whole can, even though only needed a little.
I did some research, I think it's overfilled now, and the noise must be the pressure relief valve going off. Now I have to make a 400 mi drive without AC in 100 degree heat, AND on top of that I will likely have to take my car to a professional to get the system serviced, which will be expensive.
Am I right about the system likely being overcharged? Is there more potential damage to come to the system if it is?
Point is: don't let other people touch your car, unless you are super sure about their competency.
