Will GM ever respond to this car with a street legal competitor?
I don't think they need to. They make much more profit off their economy cars than making a supercar would ever do for them.

Rumor is they're working on it. Its called the Zora.

My gf wants to buy a Liberty. I'm a 4x4/truck guy but I don't know non-standard Jeeps that well.
We crossed off the 08-12 ones quick because they are pretty universally disliked, but we do like the 02-07. My dad has a 2001 XJ Cherokee (Liberty's predecessor) that he's built into a mild crawler, but left the power plant stock and it's run like a dream for the 10 years and 80k miles we've put on it.
They SEEM to be fairly well liked and reliable, at least about as much as more standard CJ/YJ/TJ/XJ Jeeps. I've only been researching seriously for a few days though so I'm sure there's a lot more to learn.
I'd like to hear whatever you can tell me be it good or bad, especially any common issues I should be aware of. We found a nice one for sale, it looks practically brand new and is in a very nice area (we're talking million-plus dollar houses here) so it was probably well cared for.
>Inb4 get a "real" Jeep
It's going to be left completely stock and used as a DD for my 24 y/o qt so I don't really care that it's not a "real" Jeep.

My family had two. One was fairly reliable except for failing front ball joints. The other had 2 misfiring pistons, a water pump failure, a transmission failure (needed to be replaced), in addition to front ball joint failure.
I wouldn't recommend them as they have no side airbags whatsoever. I wouldn't recommend the 2008-2012 model either, as they only were only able to be optioned with side curtain airbags.
>a Chrysler product made after 1999
>>15549248
Tell me more about this trans issue? I've seen a few with replaced/rebuilt transmissions and I just called about that nice one I mentioned in the OP and the owner said that it had just developed a trans issue in the past week or so.
>>15549568
While I would normally agree with you, my dad's 4.0 Cherokee has preformed flawlessly for a decade. We replaced a water pump, that's it. Although, the 4.0 is mostly left over from the AMC days...
My 2003 Infini G35 (coupe/auto) is suddenly getting like 7.5mpg instead of 15-20+. What the fuck do?

I have a 2002 (e39) 525i BMW (m54 i6) and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to enhance the overall driving experience. Something sensibly priced, something that would increase power and or efficiency. I haven't been able to find anything online about this so I would really appreciate any help you guys give me, thank you.

racing stripes
air filter
Also would appreciate anything that would improve aesthetics, thanks

This plus a good muffler.
Don't waste more money than that unless you want to go to the track.
2nd gen. Outback with 3.0 H6.
What should i know before going for a test drive? I'm looking for a 4wd car with good ground clearance.
>>15548640
Isn't the 3.0 horrible with head gaskets?
>>15548699
No
>>15548730
nice picture! can you tell me a bit about the car? what should i look for, any weak points etc?
What do you think of the New line-up from Lada? They are trying to branch out to the international market it seems With their reasonably priced cars. Now that Nissan and Renault are partnering With them, is build quality finally mildly on pare? (I didn't find any English reviews so shoddy on the build-quality thing) They look kinda Nice as well.
Personally I would debadge the thing, black it out, ebay-turbo the shit out of it so everyone would Wonder what magnificent shitbox brand is ruining their ride to the groceries.
Thoughts?

it looks like a mini impreza

I love it.
Is this worth $200?
My buddy wants to scrap his 1993 Saturn SL2 but offered to sell it to me for $200. I was going to split it $100 each wtih other friend as a shitty project car, but fuck me is it a project.
Here's a run down after I went to check it myself. Keep in mind the car had been sitting for a month out on the curb without being started in that month. I'll include more pictures in the thread. Feel free to laugh at me for even considering paying the $200. At the very least he's willing to tow it to my house for free, and will throw in the Haynes service manual for it.
-Needs new battery (tried jumping but it didn't turn over)
-Driver airbagged already deploy (see pictures)
-Windshield has a big long crack in it (see pictures)
-Front is damaged
-AC works, just needs new filter
-Front and Rear lights work
-He said he installed a new crank shaft sensor so I'll have to check more on that
-Has 214,076 miles before the odometer stopped working (he said it could be around 400,000 currently for all he knows)
-Haven't checked vin yet but I might aswell in VIN bro's threads
And the biggest issue probably is that he said it won't pass smog.
I don't plan on using the car on public streets anyway but to be towed to empty dirt tracks on private land to fuck around in and pretend to be a rally driver. Am I in over my head on this? Would it just be a money drainer? How much do you think would it cost to get it into working order?
If the cost to get it into working order is equal to that of an already working lowend shitbox I might just pass.
Under the hood
Driver side. The blue switch I think he said led to the radiator or something along those lines.
He wired it directly to the fuse box and said, "to remember to turn it on before you start the car and after you turn it off". It was at this point I was severly debating whether to outright walk away, but the low price of $200 kept me vaguely interested.
Note the deployed airbag. When I asked about the passenger side, he said, "I don't think there is one". Fuck me
Windshield, note the crack.
He said he thinks the car was in an accident, when I brought up the airbags being deployed he didn't even know if was or not, considering he'd been driving it already in the past you'd think he'd notice the big tear in the wheel.
Looking for a recommendation for a 2din unit for a friend.
I agreed to help him install a subwoofer, and an amp, he said he already had an aftermarket radio, but he didnt. just stock.
has decent speakers
not trying to splice wires into a stock head unit, fuck that noise.
anyway, decent 2din? sub $200.
or a good model to find used, idfag
A usable, sub $200 touch screen head unit is a myth.
>>15548449
Oem or gtfo. See if there's an aux adapter that plugs into the back of the radio for his application.
>>15548505
I never said anything about a touch screen.
>>15548625
There is no easy method to connect a sub to an OEM unit. I dont want to splice wires, or use vamp clips.
>dad borrows my car sometimes because it reminds him how much more fun manual is
>allows leaves it in gear, even on perfectly flat surfaces with the parking brake cranked
>go to the garage in the morning for work
>start it up, let go of the clutch, cars jerks forward and kisses the wall
>see pic
I was planning on selling it this week. Wat do?
>>15548357
Looks perfectly fine. Just touch it up a bit or something jeez.
And how bad can you be not checking before letting go of the clutch? I always make sure it's in neutral before dropping the clutch, and even then, you can feel the car move or about to stall.
>>15548391
It's more noticeable from above
I hadn't driven in 3 months since I got back from basic training, didn't think to check
>>15548447
Well, even still I don't think that's much. I do go nuts over every little thing that happens to my car but I get over it soon when I remember I drive an 05 Corolla.
If you are selling it soon then it shouldn't matter much, unless it's a boomer, they probably won't notice it until 4 weeks after buying the car.
what are some great driving films
ive already seen drive, mad max, and pic related ; dont want as many feels though really - who could handle watching her get torn to fuck honestly
Gone in 60 seconds (1974) is a must
>>15548300
seen it, and the new one, both good
I enjoyed Death Race, Cannonball Run, Gone in 60 Seconds and Bullitt.
Porsche 944 as a first car.
How to live with it, /o/?
Swap in ecoboost
Buy pants with deep pockets.
>>15548219
This goddamn meme has a better expected life span than the fucking engine.
>see Facebook used car sales post
>'82 Corolla
>$600 USD
>asks how much mileage it's got
>avoids the question and says car was "fixed" six months ago
>says odometer is busted
Seeing how they tampered it, is this car even worth buying? It looks... Okay, but I'm weary about even doing oil changes on a car this potentially fucked over. Kinda sucks because 80's Corollas look nice.
mate its a 600 dollar car
would every part of you work perfectly after 30 years?
>>15548149
True that. But this is going to be my first car basically. I probably shouldn't bother in that case.
>>15548162
get a honda civic
I'm gonna go see a 2002 Maxima with the VQ35DE V6 and manual. Anything in particular to look out for on this engine?
Also general opinion on these cars? They have like 250+ hp so it seems like a good buy for cheap, especially with the manual.
>>15548114
Don't.
>>15548117
Are they bad cars?
>>15548114
How many miles? VQs are known to burn oil but there's no way for you to check that.
