Would it be more worth it and easier to just get a GTST in the US and swap it over to a GTR drivetrain? Assuming you can do the work yourself, of course.

Someone redpill me on the big differences between the two, aside AWD vs RWD, please.

Use google.

There is a huge difference between the GTR and GTST

let me just tell you now, none of your car "plans" will ever come to fruition.

Dad will end up leasing a wrx for you and you'll beat the shit out of it and void the warranty.

Australia's car industry is dying as we speak.

The last cars are rolling out of the factories, all car development in Australia dying with it. From now on, the Australian car brands will be all imports only, with cars from Ford and Holden coming from America now.

The age of the Australian muscle car and the ute is dying right before our eyes. The Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon, the Utes, these uniquely Australian cars will be gone before the end of the year. That means no more cars like the Chevrolet SS stateside, and all that will remain for Australia will be imported Mustangs and Camaros.

So let's post some Australian cars to mourn the passing of an era.

Races are still out there but they are less likely to be near a city center, try popular spots on the outskirts of your town
>>
>>15949943
Isn't this a consequence of FnF making it popular? Spastics tried, spastics sucked. Coppers got involved and busted everyone. Now it's all forced underground while plebs of a similar vein to our would-be street racers put their cars on meme wheels and sit around vaping in car parks.

Also cops got better tech.

there's so much maintenance and modification i could do myself if i just had access to a lift. i can't (or really, i won't) swap out my exhaust laying on my back in my driveway.

let's say i found a friendly local garage, where i was somewhat familiar with the owner, and offered to pay $30/hr just to use a lift and work on my car, bringing my own tools and cleaning up after myself, etc. Is this a thing anyone here has tried? Would I get laughed out?

>my driveway
Do you have a garage? It's not expensive to buy a lift.

>local garage
>Would I get laughed out?
They won't let you for liability reasons. You'd have better luck making friends with someone who has a lift in their personal garage.
>>
>>15949816
Probably get laughed out.
I work at a dealership and I do my maintenance after I get off work. I have swapped exhausts on brand new sti and wrxs dude it takes like 30 minutes without a lift. It took me about 5 minutes with another Co worker. All it is is a couple of bolts and exhaust hangers that's it. It's fuck easy. If you're in NorCal I'll help you.

Can someone please explain after market exhausts?

I hear terms like:
axel back
pipes
headers

How do each of these affect the exhaust sound? Are there any after market exhausts that don't require sawing through your OEM exhaust?

I'm thinking about getting some for my V6.

Toss your v6 in the garbage. Obtain V8
>>
>>15949807
Sure, just give me 14k.
>>
>>15949796
>axel back
tends to be a muffler delete or swap. mufflers tend to be between rear bumper and axle hence axle backs. can be bought to bolt up in some cases (brz, wrx, focus, mustang etc)
>pipes
kinda depends. some people just say loud pipes and it can be whatever. for v8 shit there's X and H I'm not too sure the differences. usually custom fab
>headers
headers are straight from the exhaust exit on the engine. can be bought, some people custom fab

just going to throw some more terms in there for you

>catback
from the catalytic converter back. some will be custom systems, others will be professionally made parts with their own muffler/resonators. usualy pretty costly if bought for bolt up. on an older shitbox it isn't too hard to make your own
>downpipe
for turbo cars usually with a cat as part of it. usually you upgrade this to get better flow. bolt up

Ok /o/. Who wants to redpill me on the late 80s early 90s Jeep Grand Wagoner?

After screwing around with it on FH3, I'm really starting to love the looks of this thing. Is it really a massive Suv or is closer to a crossover in size?

Also general Jeep/AMC thread.

I work in a diesel shop and I saw a hillbilly ass tard that put a stack in the back of his truck but instead of using the 3.5 inch pipe he only has 4 inch so he left a half inch gap that went from under the cab to in the truck bed. Let's just say there was more smoke under than above.

I'm attempting to change my brakes myself for the first time. When I take the bolts off of the caliper and attempt to remove it from the bracket, the brake pads seem to be sticking to the rotor and not coming off with the caliper. I can actually see the difference in the color (rusting and wear) on the back of the pad from where the caliper is moving when I'm attempting to pull it off. The only things I'm seeing about this online involve problems braking, which I don't have. I've messed with them twice, and both times I've put the pieces back together without issue, making me think I definitely don't have actual problems. Am I doing something wrong, or should I just force the caliper off since I'm trashing the rotors and pads anyway?

1. buy some freeweights
2. start lifting
3. come back in 6 months and put your back into it
>>
>>15949701
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. I have plenty of strength to pull it off, I just don't want to do damage to anything.
>>
>>15949687
If you're SURE you have all the bolts out, take a half inch drive extension and put it against the caliper and hit it with a hammer.

You can also take a pry bar and wedge it on the top between the caliper and the rotor and do it that way.

Most brake stuff is made of iron and you're not gonna hurt it. Be sure to open the bleeder valve to release pressure although there shouldn't be much.

Hi all,

I need a good 4wd vehicle for the winter. Checked out a '97 Jeep Cherokee XJ earlier, has 80,000 original miles and was used as a backup police vehicle. Drives good but I'm worried about the rust. I'm not too mechinally inclined so I was wondering how bad this looks to you guys. The rear axle had some rust as well.
