Been an automatic driver my whole time (It's what I got for cheap) and figure it's time for a 2nd car that's manual.
Problem is I never learned it or have anyone who drives one.
What's a good old cheap but peppy manual car I can get around $3k?
Also how are saturn ion redline's? I know nothing about saturn cars.
picture is the rsx
>>15957051
Another rsx but baseline cause cheap then swap parts and sell is what i would do. That or get an em2 ex/Canadian special edition or get a teggy if you live somewhere nice. Could try a cobalt or mx3/probe(rare but findable for really cheap).
Im only saying similar cars by year, drivetrain and size.
>>15957051
I forgot to mention that the ion is a cobalt that weighs more and some trims have lower specs for no real reason.
>>15957051
I just bought a 2004 redline for $3k and I'm learning to drive it still. When I get rolling I'm good to go but I'm still getting the hang of first.
Had him drive it hard for a bit and heard the supercharger whine put a smile on my face instantly.
I tried to find a cobalt ss for that price but there was nothing. Had to drive a few hours to pick this up. Good luck finding one!
Why does this thing weigh so much
>literally smaller than the AE112R
>almost 50% heavier
Steel instead of aluminium alloys.
>>15956981
Google it. Probably because of the electric seats and other luxuries. Also the usdm one had a heavier engine
>>15956981
Not really
The base model is only 2400 pounds, heaviest one is 2800. Integra's are 2500-600 pounds in comparison, and are generally considered light cars
5k and 3 hours drive away
Worth it /o/?
>>15956792
yes
>>15956792
Where do you live?
If you are in america it's a ae88 technically a different car.
>>15956792
If its something you are passionate about, then yes it is worth it.
What's up, /o/. I'm a poorfag that just happens to have enough for an old Plymouth Satellite on CL right now. It has a 318 in it right now, but with my new job I'm going to save up and get a cheap-ish crate engine to drop in it. Where would one get motor mounts to fit one in here?
>Pic related same year vehicle
just use some cardboard

>It has a 318 in it right now, but with my new job I'm going to save up and get a cheap-ish crate engine to drop in it.
No Mopar crate engine will be cheap.
If you put an SBC or Ford contraption in there i'm going to rape your butt.
Find a 360, non-magnum block on Ebay and build it. Satellites can handle big blocks but that depends on how many feet per gallon you want to get.
Put a Thermoquad on there. TQs are cheap and get damn good performance.

Why were Australian manufacturers losing money in the auto manufacturing industry?
Because raising the minimum wage doesn't help the economy.
>>15956244
Workers wanted more money, also nobody wants Falcons or Commodores because SUV's are what's being pushed.

Friend is willing to sell me Tein S tech springs for $60. Is it worth? For pic related.
>>15955981
They are ok. The ride will be rough as fuck but it made my car steer like a go kart so that's fun.
>>15955981
NO. Keep it stock.
Why not?
You can spare like 4 grams of chronic for a little drop.
>you must divert your attention from the road to check your blind spot before you signal or you fail the road test
>going outside of your lane as a result of not looking at the fucking road is a critical error that causes you to fail the test on the spot
I just don't fucking understand it. Why is adjusting your mirrors not valid? Why do I need to "check" the intersection as I am driving through it ON A GREEN LIGHT? Why do I need to turn my head all the way around while I'm in traffic before I signal? No one I ever actually follows these dumbass rules because they distract you from driving the car and I'm pretty sure the only reason they have them is so that more people have to pay money to re-take the road test several times.
>>15955839
Because dumbasses are out there. Just because it's a green light doesn't mean a fucking retard can't still hit you.... My uncle's dead friend was dozing off while driving thru a green light and a semi t boned him because "I was just tired" oh okay semi driver you can be excused since you were tired. No that's not how it fucking works.
>>15955839
How fucking long does your stupid ass check a blind spot that you can't even stay in a lane?
>>15955839
I hope this is bait. I do all these things on a regular basis and as a result I've avoided a lot of accidents. You have to drive for everyone on the road.
You're at the club and this guy slaps your car's combustion engine
what do you do?

When I use my moped I only put in a dollar at the most too.
To you mechanics on here which is more important to you. Your pocket (flathead) screwdriver or your pocket flashlight?

Torch is always useful, everything else is in my toolbox. No point carrying a bunch of tools in my pockets when I'm getting in and out of cars all day and working at awkward angles.
>>15955384
I know the pain of working at awkward angles but it's a good idea to keep some essentials on you at all times. Like a flashlight and a multi-tool
What does /o/ listen to when they're driving? Pic related, it's what I always have blasting as soon as I merge onto the highway.

Nothing.
I keep my ears on the road.
Sometimes I sing, mainly because I have lost my shit about 3 or 4 years ago.

would it be smart to take out a loan for it?
and if so how would i go about taking a loan out? I have roughly 900$ saved up. I'm 21 and employed raking in 315$ a week.

I hope you know how to ride besides riding buddies' 4 stroke quads as an excuse. These things will fuck you up with the slightest throttle blip
My thought? I wouldn't finance a quad to begin with but that's all you. Also, I'd do a Honda 400ex. Easy to work on even for a 4 stroke, enough power to either slow it down or go fast if you want to. Upgrades can be made to it cheap no problem, but stock will still be a blast.
400ex can be had around 1500 in my area and maybe anywhere else, maybe less if you're lucky.
