Are aftermarket TPMS a meme or actually useful?
Just ordered in some new wheels and tyres and I'm now thinking that putting in a TPMS while I'm at it might be a good idea.
>>16787081
They should work once they're synced to the car. That's typically what we used in my high school autoshop.
People waste their money on these things?
>>16787081
Are you talking about adding it to a car that doesnt have it already? Fuck that bullshit
>be driving shitbox on highway
>suddenly realize i have to keep the wheel sideways to go straight
>whap whap whap whap.mp3
>pull over tire has big chunk of metal sticking out of it
>change tire for my fullsize spare on side of road
>drive rest of way home and realize low tire light never came on
>check pressures at home
>driving next day low tire light comes on
>shit not again..pull over
>all tires still at set psi
Fuck tpms forever
>tfw no bf to teach me how to drive stick

Any old audi fans here ?

some guy near my parents house drives an audi coupe quattro 20v. i want one so bad. also my first car was an audi 80 b4.
>>16786964
>audi
How did you guys get good at smoothly shifting into 1st? I'm still bouncing a bit going out of first and I'm afraid of staying on the clutch too long and wearing it down faster. Also, an tips for smoothing out my 1 to 2 shift?
give it a touch more of gas and pull the clutch faster, as for 1-2, im not sure, it should be already pretty smooth, if it's not you're probably taking too long to shit and your revs are probably a little low, so tap the gas a bit
>>16786934
How long are you on the clutch from the point at which it starts to bite to when you lift your foot off the pedal?
If you want smooth it has to slip a little.

>>16786214
OH MY MISTAKE. THAT MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE IMPRESSIVE.
seriously kys anon.
anyone here have a car related job that they deal with different cars? Valet, salesman, mechanic, etc? i valet part time while going to uni, and wanted to hear from others experiences. things they love/hate, cool jobs/shit jobs, whatever.
personally think valeting is cool as a side gig for younger guys. get paid to drive in some nice cars. most of the people i work with are bros who are also obsessed with cars, imagine a few are even browse o. thing i hate about it is driving thousands of disgusting shitboxes. some of the conditions of peoples cars are absolutely baffling
I used to park UPS trucks, there were a few different sizes as well as the 24' box trucks
>tfw trying to start a 20-30 year old diesel step van on a 14ish F night
>>16786056
are those things manual?
>>16786076
Some are. Transmission as well as fuel type vary from truck to truck even within certain sized. None of it is standardised. You could get a small gas v8 manual truck and have a great job and the next week be reassigned to a huge propane automatic garbage truck.

R35 GTR or BMW M3/4?
Help me decide, /o/
I love both.
Also, is blue with gold wheels stupid looking if I go GTR? Considering it.

Save your money.

For?
Should I get a 5speed Toyota Celica or a Mitsubishi 3000GT? I want a cheap, fun manual car. Pretty set on either one of these.
>>16785543
What generation Celica were you looking at?
Hello ladies. I'd like you to meet my little friend here... GOLIATH
We had to order special elastic pants for him off the internet
What year and trims are you looking into? What specifically is important to you other than "fun" which is highly subjective
I have a nice newish daily driver and I don't want to track it anymore because my new job requires me to drive a fair amount. Also totaling it would be a pain in the ass. So I've been looking on Craigslist for a good front/rear car to play with.
Right now I'm really liking the gen 3 Supras, great looking, inline 6, mod potential, and no "drift tax" of the later Supras. I have several in my area with in decent shape for 3-5k.
Are these a good first track car? Any other good suggestions?
>inb4 Miata
>Pic related, manual trans, 3500$
Would take a ton of work to be competitive.
Would likely never beat a miata.
Cool cars though.
>inb4 people suggesting clapped out BMWs

That's a gen 2 though.
Miata, NA or NB

Just test drove one. Fucking hell I want one now, but I don't want Tony fucking my shit up every other day.

It's like sitting on a 5 gallon pickle bucket.
I want one too desu. White, black stripes and bronze wheels. If a good new hot hatch comes down to this and a Fiesta, I'd prefer the one that looks like it has style.
Where's A Freakin' Audi? He got one recently.
the used one are going to be soon in /o/ territory
I just bought a 2004 Lincoln Town Car
Black on Black
Fuck your faggy miatas.
Fuck your pseudo yuropoor racecars.
I got a fucking Lincoln, and I love it.
>>16784888
is that the one that has an air suspension fuse that blows often?
>>16784901
>Is that the car that is pleasurable to drive, extremely affordable and reliable to an absolute fucking fault?
ftfy you jelly weeb
I think I'll slap a big ol' Trump sticker on the bumper, just to piss lil fruitpuffs like you off.
The intake manifold is made of fucking plastic, which isn't really a big deal ordinarily, except coolant flows through this one, so eventually it will fail and your car will overheat on the side of the road. Watch for slow coolant leaks and replace it before you have a bad day. It's around $200 for the part.
The coil-on-plugs are also a common failure point.
You'll eventually have to replace your lower ball joints when they squeak like hell. They're pretty cheap but it's a bitch and a half to do the job yourself.
What car is the red one? Thanks.

American drivers would you panic here ?
Why? We have roundabouts here. At least in louisiana.

Thoughts?
>>16780006
It's an old car. If you don't know what that means then you probably should not consider buying one.
Interior space is pretty tight. For some time they were equiped with 3 speed AT which sucks devil's balls.
You will be able to get through snow easily but for serious offroad you'll have to spend great deal of money.
Also they are pretty bad on pavement and if you'll spin out of control you probably crash badly, the safety is obviously pretty lousy.
>>16780031
Hmm interesting...
So no a great commuter or every day car.
They've stood the test of time here. Which is saying a lot in this salty and rusty hellhole. there's still a lot of them left on the roads.
