Are aftermarket TPMS a meme or actually useful?
Just ordered in some new wheels and tyres and I'm now thinking that putting in a TPMS while I'm at it might be a good idea.

They should work once they're synced to the car. That's typically what we used in my high school autoshop.
People waste their money on these things?

Are you talking about adding it to a car that doesnt have it already? Fuck that bullshit
>be driving shitbox on highway
>suddenly realize i have to keep the wheel sideways to go straight
>whap whap whap whap.mp3
>pull over tire has big chunk of metal sticking out of it
>change tire for my fullsize spare on side of road
>drive rest of way home and realize low tire light never came on
>check pressures at home
>driving next day low tire light comes on
>shit not again..pull over
>all tires still at set psi
Fuck tpms forever

If it's the type that constantly monitors the air pressure without screaming about being low, it's useful.
Unfortunately, most auto manufacturers didn't get that memo and designed something that throws a warning whenever the outside temperature changes substantially.
Useful but not worth.
Easy to steal or damage. Won't integrate with interior design.
I'd recommend that you wake up before sunrise every two weeks, go outside, and stick a cheap pres gauge onto of your tires. Then, breathe the morning air, hear the birds, and sense inner peace.

TPMS a shit. If you're not a soccer mom who is literally incapable of checking your tire pressures every two weeks, it's more of an annoyance than being worth the trouble.

90% of the time at least one will fail within the year. It's jot that hard to get out of your car and check your tires instead of being a fat lazy fuck.
TPMS sucks.
The batteries die often and the aluminium corrodes way worse than a rubber/brass valve stem and causes leaks.

Pretty useful.
Even outside the tire TPMS (that screw on the valve) are pretty useful at setting alarms for low TP, high heat, or being overly inflated.
I bought a cheap set off eBay like 6 years ago that still work great on my truck, Have yet to replace the batteries too.
