I'm hearing a strange clunk or maybe thumping noise (I'm not good with 'naming' sounds) when I brake at low speeds. It's more noticeable when turning in the parking lot, ONLY with brakes on. There is no sound when braking in reverse. I've just had my brakes changed about 5 months ago. Also just had tie rod ends changed along with control arm last week.

Car is only 9 years old with 65,000 miles.

What could it be?

So /o/, I have 2 options I'm considering.

Have an 05 s2000 with 60k miles. I need to buy a beater.

My options are to sell the s2000 and buy a Pontiac g8 GT with 130k miles for $10k ish, or keep the s2000 and buy an 01 Toyota Camry as my daily/beater.

I can't decide what is a more practical option while still having fun and reliable in a package.

I test drove a Nissan S13 and noticed some issue when accelerating, I think the clutch was slipping and would grab only after revving for a while. There was also smoke coming from under the hood around the radiator. Some mechanic started the car after we went inside to get the paperwork done BEFORE test driving. When I wanted to look under the hood the mechanic told me it's dangerous if the oil and coolant are hot. The car dealer started talking and I couldn't really think clearly and was put into the passenger seat.

This all made me kind of suspicious about the state of the car, I wanted to investigate this issue before buying it but the car dealer forced me to sign this payment contract beforehand or else he would sell it to someone else. I could pick up the car in 3 days they said.

After some research I discovered the cost of replacing the clutch and fixing the cooling issue would be around $1500 I called back to say I didn't want it anymore.

Now is the part at which the car dealer started shouting over the phone and said I'm wasting his time and costing him money he says the contract I signed says I will have to pay a fine of at least $8500 if not at least 10% of the price of the vehicle. But the used car price is $4100 so this contract doesn't make sense for this car

Is this even legal? How can I defend myself, really freaked out about this and don't know where to turn to. I can't afford a lawyer either so I'm basically getting set up with a car that's broken

If I am in America, most likely a Bible Belt state, and I need to escape Christians who see me as a heathen due to me being an atheist, among other reasons such as me having a low opinion of the Bible, etc...

...Anyway, my question is: What do I use as a getaway vehicle to escape extremely religious people?
