They seem nice until you hit a little divot or rock at just the wrong angle at slightly too fast/ too slow and you bust a control arm or spindle or shock or spring because it was meant for perfectly paved smooth tarmac.
Trust me, I would like one. But do not go thinking you can actually overland in a Subaru wagon cause it has ground clearance and AWD.
Good idea though. Have fun getting stranded 25 miles from the nearest public road.

no? are you dumb? the car is 30+ years old dude, youre a teenager or whatever and have no real source of income, the car will need every piece of the suspension replaced and the engine overhauled just to say you have anything resembling a reliable car.
get a NEWER one made in the last 20 years maybe and you have a SEMI-acceptable driver, that will still need money dumped into it.
MK1 and MK2 VW's are...collector cars now, as in you cant really buy one and expect it to be a reliable daily driver.
MK3's are trash. don't even look.

Manual transmissions are for kids - driving a stick is not a special skill, modern automatics are better, the novelty wears off after a few weeks, grow the fuck up.
Nobody is impressed with your car unless it is no more than 3 years old with MSRP over $60,000. There's a reason girls like BMWs.
Miatas are not good cars. First of all, they are slow, second, sacrificing all practicality for performance does not make it a good car.
No car that needs to be modified to be good is worth having. If you can't afford a nice car, accept it. Fucknuggets from eBay won't make it better.
If other enthusiasts like your car, it doesn't make it a good car, it just makes you part of the circlejerk. That's like a weeaboo being impressed with your anime collection.
If your daily is a sports car, you have fucked up priorities and your life is probably beyond the point that you can recover from all the other bad decisions you have already made.
