ZZ doesn't add much to enjoyment to CCA but it's worth watching on its own. It only picks up steam in the second half after barely any plot development in the first part.

Just give a shot and if you don't like the characters by ep 4-5, then drop it.

So, how would giant robots affect Legend of the Galactic heroes, and more importantly, how would the FPA do with Coop replacing Yang Wenli. This is actually an interesting change that no matter what happens, it will be amazing.

I was under the impression it was just Coop, not Coop and Megas. Which would be a problem, since Coop isn't a pilot and pilots Megas through video game controls, a steering wheel and pedals. Which isn't really a transferable skill, and he'd probably suck at piloting any other machine without at least some training. And it'd be a problem if he brought Megas too, since it's a joke machine and would make a joke of most conflicts.

Last episode of last /m/ show I watched was Delta for instance. For one thing I'd have to wonder if he replaces Hayate or Freyja, since it seems increasingly like Freyja is the main character. And I like the idea of him in a dress trying to sing. Assuming he replaces Hayate though he can't pilot, he has no connection with Freyja and he's not fold compatible. So he'd probably wash out of Delta early and even if he got in he's unlikely to establish a connection with any of the idols, though he might hit on Mirage. He'd probably hit on Kaname, Mikumo and Makina too. Along with some of the bridge bunnies. He's no Jamie, and he wouldn't drop important shit for it, but he'd probably do it. So definitely worse for Chaos in just about every way possible, though he might be more interesting to watch.

If he came over with Megas then he'd probably destroy the Aerial Knights within one or two fights, Keith included. He'd probably destroy the Protoculture Ruins, Ragna and the Elysiom in the effort but I doubt anyone would count it as too high a price. So the show would be over within a few episodes as a comedy OVA, before any real stakes can even be established and the mysteries of Wright and Mikumo would probably never solved. So definitely better for Chaos in just about every way possible, though it'd also probably not be as interesting to watch. And I don't particularly like Megas' humor, so I doubt it'd be all that funny either.
