Haven't seen G, looks fun but silly.

ZZ wasn't bad, but isn't better than any of the other Tomino UC shows that I've seen.

Haven't seen G Reco, I bet it's pretty decent, but not the best or the worst either.

F91 is a blast, it has a few odd moments, because of production problems, but is still good.

CCA is a great movie, but has a lot of talking and not enough action for many people (I don't mind).

0079, no question about it. Zeta is a worthy sequel with higher production values, which is why it's liked more. But the writing is better in 0079, and it is more original.

Fuck off. Turn A is only beat by 0079, and not by much. Like the original Gundam, it's one of those Tomino shows where everything falls into place nicely and what he is trying to convey makes it across to the viewer.

Victory ia my favorite, but I have a hard time calling it the best when it falls short on the antagonist side so hard, which is usually an appeal of Gundam. Duker Iq is kind of like Ramba Ral but otherwise nobody really has the kind of importance or presence or even sympathy that was in the original. Char was cool, Dozle was honorable, and plenty of grunts were sympathetic, but Zanscare is kind of evil on top of evil with some Maria, incompetence and unclear power structure shuffling thrown in. I think it has the best main cast to compensate but those flaws really make me look to Turn A for the best Gundam.

I didn't particularly like Zeta. None of the characters connected with me, like, at all. I slogged through it out of obligation more than anything. If the Gundam name hadn't been attached, I probably would have dropped it before I got halfway through. I've considered that it may just be that Tomino's style doesn't go over well with me because I felt very similarly about G-Reco, but I genuinely enjoyed 0079, so I don't know.

It's not, only characters that matter in 0079 are Char and Amuro. Char is MUCH better in Zeta.

Kamille is a much better character than Amuro, he starts brattier but grows much more than Amuro ever did, even when he was an adult. By the end of Zeta Kamille is miles and bounds above him and Char, he already knows the whole war about newtype and oldtype is stupid.

0079 has super robot shit too, so that takes like 2 points out of it because super robot is garbage for a show that tries to be taken seriously.

Not only side characters are better in Zeta but also the bad guys, with the exception of Jerid.

In Zeta Char acted like some indifferent autist for the most part. He only became interesting when he showed a speck of emotion after he met Haman or when he met Amuro again. 0079 Char was interesting due to his enigmatic ambitions and ongoing rivalry with Amuro, in Zeta he's just a brick wall for the most part. The line between 'mysterious cool enigma' and 'indifferent autist who doesn't really care about anything' is a thin one.

Somebody explain the appeal of Turn A. I don't think I've ever been more bored. People complain about a lack of action in IBO, but then go on and praise Turn A despite nothing happening action-wise for multiple episodes, and when it does happen it's extremely dull.

As mentioned >>14587682, the issue with IBO is that there are large chunks of nothing. Action can, at least, sort-of justify itself by virtue of being action in an animated toy commercial. The problem is that the downtime is mostly squandered away and basically everything from their first foray into space all the way through the beginning of the Carta arc is a waste of time. The Gusion, while a valuable asset, is not a decent RoI for all the time spent on fluff. Had they just done the Brewers, they could've turned that into a real arc and saved five or six episodes for more substantive combat - the Turbines girls were also not terribly integral to the Tekkadan war effort. They could've been Brewer pilots that signed on after their team lost, or straight-up defectors like Emma in Zeta. What little benefit Teiwaz provided in materials could've been supplied by Choco-Char with ease.
