Can I tolerate this show enough to see Flit throughout his years? Grandpa flit seems to be pretty based from what I hear around here.
>>
In the end isn't the show about how Grandpa's "based" actions are bad and wrong and he needs to see the error of his ways?

Perhaps suggest MD Geist
>>
>>14574295
I remember people here being disappointed that he "saw the errors of his ways", considering his actions since childhood ended up saving potentially millions of people from terror attacks on civilian populations.
>>
>>14574290
Do it
>>
>>14574317

I stil maintain that Kio' X rounder powers mindraped Flit to stop with the Martian Mutant genocide.
>>
>>14574290
>Can I tolerate this show enough to see Flit throughout his years

No.

Start at the end of the second arc, continue watching until Kio gets the FX, then drop AGE like the sack of horse shit it winds up being.

>In the end isn't the show about how Grandpa's "based" actions are bad and wrong and he needs to see the error of his ways?
Not really. Flit didn't do anything wrong and he just needed to be told when to stop.

In all honesty do people in /m/ actually think AGE will end with genocide?

No, we were just hoping for it against all odds. No one had any sympathy or pity for the Vagans at the end. They were that terribly written of an antagonist faction.

AGE-3 Normal is super sexy, it's a shame we had to wait til AGE for a decent looking ZZ though.

I quite like the ZZ, but the AGE-3 would be improved by removing those shoulder fins. They just look awkward and pointless hanging off it.

>it's a shame we had to wait til AGE for a decent looking ZZ though.

We've actually had a legitimately great looking ZZ since 1986. The only problem is that it wasn't used for some bizarre reason.
>>
>>14575320

Someone once pointed out that for all Kio's "No, you need to listen to me" arguments to Flit and his allies he's actually awful close minded himself and refuses to listen to any of his allies - only Lu and Ezelcant. Even allies that are being reasonable like Seric and telling him he should worry about himself and his allies more. The one who really need to be more open minded was Kio, not Flit.

>>14575321

Count me out on that one. I prefer the normal ZZ, or the slim version that's occasionally posted in gunpla form. I dislike that one's shield/gun thing on the right arm, the head doesn't seem to have a cannon, the shoulders having circular innards that poke above them annoys me and I don't like how square the actual shield on it's left arm makes the profile look. I'm not fond of the look of the feet and legs for some reason I can't quite place either - though that could just be the angle. The actual ZZ isn't perfect by any means, and there are improved versions like the FAZZ, but I don't think that one is the way to fix it.
>>
>>14574295
The only error Flit made was attempting to kill the Vegan civilians, who were only suffering because their fucking leader kept them around Mars instead of moving Second Moon away early on.
Their soldiers were all apparently healthy and sent to Earth to fight, and their civilians are suffering from space radiation induced diseases and shit from being near Mars, and they could have moved Second Moon early, but they didn't.

In a way, the civilians were also a victim of Ezelcant's stupid plans. Flit's plan of killing the Vegans was a good plan, he just had to stop at the civilians who did nothing but suffer under Ezelcant's rule because Ezelcant kept them around Mars instead.

Reminder that Kio did try to talk things with Asem and Flit as soon as he returned from Mars. Asem stated that he has no answer, Flit pretty much called his worries irrelevant.

And Seric was to high up in his logical militaristic ass to even for a moment think "does a 13 years old boy fighting in a war and saving our lives has a problem that requires more than just patronizing advice on being pragmatic?"
>>
>>14575431

> And Kio was to high up in his idealistic pacifistic ass to even for a moment think "does an adult fighting in a war and trying to help his own faction have a problem that requires more than just patronizing advice on saving everyone?"

Just because he asked two people who didn't have an immediate solution doesn't mean he should shut himself off from all the answers and advice he does get and keep going "but I want to save everyone even if I don't know how!". Especially when some of that advice is logical and compassionate, like when he was advised that wanting to help even the enemy is good but that he should worry about his allies as well.
>>
>>14575197
>bitches about space cancer killing so they have to invade earth
>could actually move their colony the whole time
I see the Mars rays scrambled their brains first, that's probably why kio became retarded
>>
>>14575462
>And Kio was
A kid in kid-adult conversation.

> two people who didn't have an immediate solution
One had solution and it was a genocide. That was the problem.

>he should shut himself off from all the answers and advice
Which answers and advice? Kio no longer had it in himself to kill anybody, and he never was a trained soldier in the first place. Kio hit his limit, in this regard. Even Flit at his age couldn't bring himself to personally kill anybody.

Kio still was willing to aid the Federation, what Seric could do change was to his role in battle to support - shielding from beams, taking down missiles, rescuing allies. Even that disarming stuff could work if Kio was instructed as a hit-and-run harasser targeting enemy squads, far away from bosses.

>wanting to help even the enemy is good but that he should worry about his allies as well.
Which he was doing, as well.
>>
>>14574290
Was this the most forgettable gundam show ever?
>>
>>14576301
Nice try Francisco.
>>
>>14575431
Seric was right though.

Space Pirate and Flit had their own brand of pragmatism.

Only person kio was able to help by the end was flit.
>>
So, where do I even find this show? The Nyaa torrents are mostly dead and I'm pretty sure several episodes are missing.

he did. if he could build a wall around earth to keep out filthy vagans, he would have done it

he made earth military great again and purged the fuck out of the earth government, killing hundreds to thousands of vagan spies and collaborators. he started when he was a kid who lost his family, their fortune, everything as a toddler, with nothing but the shirt on his back and the family heirloom

he's a real "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" republican

>The opinion that it wasn't that good to have him leave the final decision to a woman who isn't even his wife. I mean, he married Emily, has kids, yet in the end it's Yurin. But you have to remember that he didn't just part with her, he lost her at a stage of growth when he was at his most sensitive. Even though he's married he can't forget her. This kind of stuff happens in real life too, not just cartoons. The female staff on the team didn't understand at all, but I personally feel it was extremely realistic.
>>
>>14578188
He actually did. Earth was utter shit until he showed up and is personally responsible for stopping the Vegans taking over.

He's one of the most badass gundam characters of all time.
>>
>>14578815

>makes the Earth sphere great again
>dedicates most of his life to eradicating Vegan spies from the Earth
>his son, despite not having magic powers is one of the best pilots in history
>continues to fight despite being an old ass man

There's basically no other gundam protagonist as badass as flit.
>>
>>14579249
He was kind of a dick to his son.

Although that doesn't detract from him being badass.
>>
>>14579249

> He got most of the design from the AGE device
> Earth was getting along before he came along.m, corrupt maybe, but fine. It wasn't much different when he was in power
> The Vacan spies came back as soon as he turned around and his purge ultimately did nothing
> His son became a decent pilot almost in spite of him, not because he was doing anything to help
> His son also became a deadbeat who did little even by his own word

Flit was a good pilot though.
>>
>>14574290

The man did little wrong given the circumstances. Vagans as a whole rival, if not slightly below how heinously evil the Jupiter Empire was from Crossbone. Outright resorting to slaughtering civillians in space, having no political ideology outside of "gas Earthnoids, Vagan stronk"
>>
>>14579280
>Earth was getting along before he came along.m, corrupt maybe, but fine. It wasn't much different when he was in power

The "UE" had sunk two colonies, were conducting routine raids and abductions on ships, stirring up conflict in colonies, and building an advanced forward base for the full invasion while the Federation was sitting on its hands and doing next to nothing about it.
>>
>>14579327

I thought you meant in terms of government and culture and so on. If you just mean martial strength though even at the height of his reign in Gen 2 there were still Vagan infiltrators under his nose, including his son's friend and the Vagan were barely stopped, and only because one Vagan decided to help his son stop their superweapon. Flit increased the military budget and made better weapons, but in the end it didn't do much good and Vagan still dominated them in attacks because they had advanced too.
>>
>>14579280
>His son became a decent pilot almost in spite of him, not because he was doing anything to help

Yeah, I guess giving him the family legacy, the most advanced ms in the fleet, and putting him under the wing of your best ace pilot who trains and inspires him into the pilot he becomes wasn't helping him.

You know its actually funny. Flit turned out to be the best dad in the series. He was a little cold towards Asem due to work taking over his life but compared to every other dad in the series that's actually shown he gets a gold star.
>>
>>14579280
>Earth was getting along before he came along.m, corrupt maybe, but fine. It wasn't much different when he was in power

Vagan were raping their shit.

> he Vacan spies came back as soon as he turned around and his purge ultimately did nothing

He retired, it doesn't make him any less badass.

> His son also became a deadbeat who did little even by his own word
His son had the best ship and the best grunts by the end of the show.
Who was helping behind the scenes.
Also didn't the pirates get rich after the show.
>>
>>14579354

Those things didn't do much good actually, and it was Woolf who really molded him in to a great pilot, not Flit, not the AGE device or suit and not Flit's money or influence. Even then Woolf was giving him more attention because he sympathised with Asem and wanted to help him, not because of Flit.

>>14579358

Even before he retired the Vagan still had spies on Earth and Earth was holding them back by the skin of their teeth.
>>
>>14579380

Oh, and Asem directly states that being a pirate for more than a decade hadn't actually done much good.
>>
>>14579354
>He was a little cold towards Asem due to work taking over his life but compared to every other dad in the series that's actually shown he gets a gold star.

He always seemed to look down on Asem.

It says something bad if your son abandons all you believe in and joins a band of pirates.

>>14579380
>Even then Woolf was giving him more attention because he sympathised with Asem and wanted to help him, not because of Flit.
Woolf was the father Asem never had.

>Even before he retired the Vagan still had spies on Earth and Earth was holding them back by the skin of their teeth.
Flit was a large part of why they were able to hold on.

They were normally outmatched.
>>14579383
Its not like being a pirate was going to completely change everything, but in the end his crew were useful and he managed stop his old friend from recovering the tech.

>"Flit is a bad father"
>Is shown giving Asem everything he needs.
>Including a better pilot than himself to be his mentor.
>Regularly checked in on him after he joined military.
>Didn't act angry or disappointed when it turned out his son wasn't an x-rounder and told him it was okay.
>Didn't coddle him when he started having inferiority issues.

Keep in mind most of what we see of their interaction is during a time when the conflict is gearing up again and Asem is having his little inferiority crisis over not immediately living up to his dad and dealing with his best friend being a spy.
>>
>>14578436
>Utter failure as a father who ran off to play space pirate and prolong a war started by a bunch of genocidal maniacs because he's worried too many people will die all at once.

You call this pile of fail best? Wow.
>>
>>14579461

He may get have intended to prolong it, but I doubt he even did that, since the Vagan could only attack every decade or two due to transit times, budget and so on. He might have ensured neither side had netter technology or pushed off an attack by a year or two, but that's about it. His harassment didn't seem to affect either side much.
>>
>>14579440
>Regularly checked in on him after he joined military.
I remember him congratulating every other member of the crew then calling out Asem on not killing more Vagans.
>>
>>14579483
So instead of ditching his wife and kid for a stupid reason. He ditched em for a stupid reason and then failed on top of it.

You don't like him at all do you.
>>
>>14579461
>>You call this pile of fail best? Wow.
Considering both sides were genocidal he kind of had both hands tied.

>>14579560
There was also the exa-db which he did eventually find and destroy, it just took him a decade and a half
>>
>>14579560
He ditched his wife because he knew she'd rather hold hands with Zeheart.
>>
>>14579560
I've said this before and I'll say it again. You can remarry, you can have more kids. You can do that as many times as you want.

You only have one chance to become a Space Pirate captain. You're a fool not to take it.
>>
>>14579560

I think the execution of an interesting character is crap yes. He himself is nothing offensive, but the writing that results in him certainly is.
>>
>>14579573
I think Asem and Zeheart would rather hold hands with each other she felt like the third wheel.
>>
Asemu should have took Romary and Kio with him, become a true pirate family.
>>
>>14579440
Did Woolf or the Madornas get royalties off that model kit in there?
>>
I just finished the second gen. This show just keeps getting worse and worse. The pacing is atrocious.
>>
>>14580961
>This show just keeps getting worse and worse
You're just on the tip of the iceburg man
>>
>>14580961
Really? I just finished the second gen myself, and I've found it pretty enjoyable so far. Adult Flit is cool, Asemu had a satisfying-enough character arc. I especially liked how he painted the Age-2 like the G-bouncer at the end. It's not great or anything, but I like it better than IBO or Wing.
>>
>>14574930
I haven't seen that image in ages
