And then it turned into a gay romance drama.
What is this, some Harry Potter ripoff?

answered your own question
What do you think of the anglicization of the culture ?
I'm Italian and I'm noticing more and more the anglicization of my language: English terms are preferred to those in Italian and if one tries to defend its own culture is accused of narrow-mindedness.
I'm not against to the Americans, Brits, ecc. Trust me. I just don't understand this massive anglicization.
I have always believed that there are not slavery without slaves, and Italians are a people who submits to everything and everyone and I recognize that English is a very important and widely used language ... but I wonder just a little bit of love for their culture, that's all .
I think that it is, regarding the evolution of language, as natural as it is artificial. However, you can make the difference by not using anglicisms in your daily speech.
MAMA MIA WHERE'SA MI ITALIANO!

Out of curiosity can you give examples?
Pretty short read. Let's engage in some discussion, faggots.
http://literature.org/authors/voltaire/candide/chapter-03.html
Chapter 1.
Okay, so the main faggot Candide is getting thrown out of the castle for trying to cop some royal tail behind the curtains
Chapter 2.
He walks to the next town over and gets recruited into the Bulgarian army by two dudes at a tavern who arrest him. His height has something to do with it. Slightly confuzzled but okay

He gets caught taking a walk by the Bulgarian army. They tell him he can either take a musketball swift to the dome or RUN THE MOTHERFUCKIN' GAUNTLET. ohshitnigger
How do I start writing erotic novels?
Does anyone on here know about writing erotic novels?
>>8329642
We had a group about writing kinky porn.
I don't know what happened.
Hey /lit/ I was wondering if you guys would help me out, during the holiday I've literally nothing to do so I've decided to read one of these books, could you tell me which one of these books and if you could give me any recommendations ?
Self bump
>>8329622
Depends what you're in the mood for. Want a deep, serious book? Go for the Republic. Want an epic fantasy story? Go for Homer. Want great, poetic stories? Read EAP.
>>8329625
Anything at the moment, do you have any recommendations on any other books ?
Fuck man I just read this and it's amazing.
There's so much drama between what each character wants. The language is beautiful. It speaks to the artist in me.
What else will I like?
Read Synge

>What else will I like?
You will probably like other works of the same author. Alternatively, you might like similar works by other authors.
>this would be a better world if the parents ate the spinach
Sorry to intrude /lit/ I don't frequent this board so this is my first post, my question is do you guys know of a word for when someone writes a paragraph when a sentence is needed ?
Self bump

sesquipedalianism
>>8329598
Thanks but is there a word more appropriate for a paragraph rather than a word

It's just a bunch of amateur theologians arguing with /pol/, feel free to check out that thread with the brown kid in a skateboard though.
It doesn't seem much different from a lot thread
>>8329597
It's more cringeworthy than most
Huh. Really makes you think.
Post more reddit

Check any thread.

I scammed a kid out of a nickel. Gave him two pennies and said that it's worth more than that nickel in his hands, the fool accepted the trade. Any good books for silver-tongued devils like myself?
>>8329843
also i would like to add that i still sometimes have nightmares/ visions of bad yu-gi-oh card trades i made in first and second grade
Can we get a St. John's thread going?
I'll be attending the school in about a month and would love to hear from some past/current/prospective johnnies.
Anything I should be reading this summer to prepare besides the illiad and ancient greek textbook?
Also, anything to keep in mind as a "mature" student? I'm in my early twenties, and I'm a little concerned about my age being an issue. I will be living off campus, and plan on making friends with other older students/grad students if I can.
>>8329545
Check out the school's journal, the SJC Review:
http://www.sjc.edu/blog/st-johns-review/
Very good and interesting stuff on all sorts of topics and authors. Take a look at one or two of the earliest and then maybe the most recent one at least.

Thanks so much! Reading it now
oh hey more trust fund babbies
Is first person narration inherently plebeian?
>>8329537
Are you calling Odysseus a pleb?
>>8329546
with a face like that, ya
This is something I question myself every time.
I believe people think that because third person is obviously more complex, but first person can be hella comfy
How do I get the rights to write this guys story?
Can I just start writing it and send it out to publishers, np?
Just change a few names and sell it as cuckold erotica
Bernard Sanderson
start with the Greeks
I didn't like this book as a kid. Was I just a pleb or is it as pointless and pretentious as I initially believed?
It's a great book. It has a pretty clear 'point' and I have a feeling you don't really know what the word 'pretentious' means.

Trash novel cashing in on 9/11 feels
I tried reading Everything is Illuminated and fucking hated his prose.
I've heard from multiple people that his only worthwhile work is his vegan manifesto book.
