The girl I'm desperately in love with had to read four of this Robert Cormier's books for school. I've never heard of him. Is he worth reading so I can talk about his books with her, or should I just try to turn her onto James Joyce.

Looking for a good book on determinism.
Which philosophers cover it best? I think it's a pretty interesting concept and I also think we would be able to predict people's actions if we had enough data on them (genes, relationships, behaviors, psychology, etc).
Anyway, I wouldn't mind contemporary perspectives on the subject but I'd prefer something a little older/foundational.
The only book you ever need is The Bible.

why do you need a book? just think about it, it's pretty simple (as is everything true)

I'm writing a story about a man who dies, but even after his death the story continues to be from his perspective, and shows the funeral and his friends and families reactions to his death. After his death he stops being a character and becomes the 'narrator'
Am I Pomo yet?
Would anybody read this?
Should I kill myself?
Stealing your idea and publishing it.
Faggot.

Does that mean it's good then?
>>8340266
Yea it's a nice concept but your story should also have a good concept and your writing must be good in order to be a good short story or novel
Im new to buying literature, but ive wanted to read these, and i was hoping for recommendations or advise if these are good or not

Thank god, holy shit. Just look what happened to Joyce. At this point, more people have read his fart letters than Ulysses.
I fucked up.
I just spent $150 Australian on a single book.
Console me.

Hey /lit/, can you recommend solid books on politics and government?
You're going to need to be more specific. Do you want political philosophy or treatises? Fictional dystopias or satires? You need provide more information on what you're looking for and if this is just a bait thread let me know so I won't waste anymore time.

Hey /Lit/ first time im using this board. I'm in the library, and I see this book and the front cover looks like a bio on Cobain.
Wondering If and Russian Bros can at least translate the title so I can get a translated version.
The title is Legends of Ancient Hening (?)
It's an anthology of Ukranian sci-fi and fantasy author Henry Lion Oldie's novels The Aimshouse and Songs of Peter Sliadek. Cobain sold seperately.
Why would you want to read a translated russian biography about Kurt Cobain?
