I don't know about the second book, but you won't be able to make much sense of anti-Oedipus unless you have firm background knowledge of psychoanalytic theory and philosophy.

That might be true, but you would seriously struggle to find something worse for a person who is "new to literature" to start with than Anti-oedipus. I mean, fuck, Deleuze is literally one of the worst writers I can think of for new lit readers.

Don't know about the second one though. Why not read some Freud?
