How can you assume a piece of literature is fake or "falseflagging" for lack of a better word. There's this letter that's been bothering me and I'm trying to understand if it's real.

Accept it, OP, Joyce's fart letter is real. Accept it and move on.
>>
>>8775485
hey OP, I'm what you would call "woke." Read up on post-colonial theory and start walking on the path towards Enlightenment. Slavoj Zizek might be a good start, either him or Gramsci. You have to learn how to identify ideology and separate it from material truth. Don't fall for the indoctrination tactics of the elites: the lived experiences of marginalized group members give us the best framework for ascertaining reality.

Is this anything more than Econ 101 common sense with 500 pages of flowery language? I feel like this will be one of those boring as fuck novels that I want to finish solely to feel superior to normies but I can't even bear to finish.

You realize that no one actually reads The Wealth of Nations because it's too overly convoluted. Just read another book that focuses and analyses The Wealth of Nations.

>going to my retailcuck wagie job
>work part time for 6 hours 3 days a week but my week consists of days ruined by work or days dreading the upcoming work days
>do a job that some silicon valley 19 year old should've automated by now (they're too busy with the college fuckfest)
>sometimes get seen by people I went to school with and yhey probably laugh at me
>was laughed at by girls younger than me who knew my name ("Hey look it's Anon") and I didn't even know who they were
>manager realised I've been taking 40 minute breaks instead of 15 and subtly told me to cut it out
>did a degree and I'm smart but lazy
>had lots of graduate interviews but after a lifetime of doing well in academia I can't pass interviews because I'm not a normie
>tonnes of chad and Stacey couples at my workplace, many of them younger than me
>never ever had attention from a girl ever, have had zero social life for years

What's my stake in society? I lift weights but can't motivate myself to stop binge eating or work hard in my free time (on programming stuff). I go to the library and cinema to feel less alone but it never works and I go home feeling conned and sad after seeing hot girls I'll never talk to and people enjoying their youths.

If I got a graduate job then at least I wouldn't be a low status cuck but it would be mind numbing and soul destroying.

Life is unfair. Some posh person who goes to a private school is taught to act in an ubernormie way and skates through a zero work arts degree at university. This is the type of person interviewing me when I go to graduate job interviews in London.

This is humiliating and depressing. Who was the con artist that said that work gives any pride ever?

And pop songs played as muzak, which are the anthems of normies. Images of models and celebrities are shown everywhere. These are the people who post Instagram selfies gloating about "Puttin in da #work" when they had everything handed over to them due to their looks.

Damn that's a lot of resentment when all of this is your own fault.

Do something about it or just kill yourself.

>just kill yourself.
Yeah this is probably your only solution if you can't even stand working an 18 hour week

Read the sign at the start of American Psycho and the poster at the end of Glamor, and it'll become clear.

>>8775134
It's been a while since I've read it, the billboard was on the freeway and said "disappear here" right?

I love it.
The time skip could be done better, however.

Did you ever read Pact, also by Wildbow?
>>
>>8777151
The whole thing isn't that tightly written, but the time skip is particularly bad. It's forgivable just because the setting is that good. I haven't read anything else by the author though, I know when I was reading Worm he was finishing Pact and starting up another serial
>>
>>8775096
Very cliched and too enamored with capeshit stereotypes. Some of the characters were embarrassing to read.

Posted this on /his/ but it was buried under a mound of inane memery.

I'll start reading "The Age of Extremes: The Short Twentieth Century"by Hobsbawm and "The Historian's Craft" by Marc Bloch tonight for a course, any of you read them? What did you think about them? I've read another book by Bloch (the one about the Royal Malaise, don't know how it's called in English) and it was fairly interesting, the man has an eye (short sighted as I presume it became, eh) for sources and ongoing social processes.

Additionally, does anyone have that Death of Socrates photoshop with greentext like "go on, debate me" and "you activated his trap card"? I need it and can't find it anywhere else.

Why is it in all this French lit like Beckett and CĂ©line the characters are completely at root with their sexual nature, yet express apathy towards the action itself, and longing on the actor.

Molloy's mistress was cheating on her husband, Molloy longed for love in the actor rather than the action.

Moran's hatred towards his son could be the result of adulterous behaviour on Nilette, but he possesses no ill towards her.

Likewise, Bardamu from Journey mentions how Lola cuckolded him while he was on leave in France, yet expresses ill on the action than the actor.

Is this some Freudian shit /lit/?

>>
Also, not to mention that Moll's relationship with Macmann was wholly based on self-sexual redemption in the face of death, rather than love.

Which isn't necessarily a cuckold situation, but certainly expresses a negative selfish sexuality, least on the part of Moll, as noted by her low selfimage given to her by her father.

What female author would /lit/ get a 12 yo boy to read?

My little brother reads a lot, but I noticed that he hasn't yet read anything written by a female author.

Charlotte Bronte and Harper Lee come to mind, but I think he's a bit young for that.

Suggestions?

kys. Tell him to start with the Greeks first though.
>>

get him to read books of good quality, rather than reading books of every demographic.

If he only reads male authors, why MUST he read a female author? and why stop at female? why not mtf transexual, my not ftm transexual, why not asexual, why not homosexual men, homosexual women, why not communists, why not fascists, why not extreme religious fanatics, why not get him to read obscure chinese medical journals, or popular russian military textbooks?

Why are you shilling your agenda, OP?
