The fact that you read the whole book and wasted your time is in and of itself the infinite jest.

oh man!! soo many books have been stolen!! insanity http://www.theverge.com/2017/2/15/14592830/rare-books-stolen-2m-thieves-london
t sounds like something out of a Dan Brown novel: thieves cut open the skylights of a warehouse, rappelled into the building, and made off with nearly $2.5 million dollars of rare books. But the heist truly happened to a shipment of books destined for last weekend’s California International Antiquarian Book Fair.

You write like you're on fucking 9gag. Even redditors write better than this. What is this excessive use of exclamation marks and lack of punctuation? Are you 10 years old?

What do /lit/?
Tell her that Ulysses transcends the dichotomy of good and bad literature.

Russian authors are shit, but the plot any one of Joyce's short stories is just as engaging to a young adult as they are to Herodotus Bloom.
Nothing

What should I read from Hume before reading The Critique of Pure Reason?
His short most famous work
>>9111665
An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding
>>9111665
enquiry concerning human nature is more concise and clearer than treatise but treatise is more comprehensive. I'm actually reading critique of pure reason right now and refer back to hume frequently, so it's not like you'll be finished with him regardless. I'd also recommend at the very least the first twenty or so pages of prolegomena because kant really summarizes his project well including the whole synthetic/analytic distinctions.
I have yet to see one person refute any argument presented in this book. THAT says something.
Probably because most people haven't read or heard of that book.
>>9111649
I am saying personally, after reading this book a little while ago and analyzing every argument, internet or out in the world, and every action, and everything, I have not found anything to contradict what this book conveys.
Why should I start with the greeks? I really don't get it. Im a newfag tho, if that helps
Western Civilization starts there.
>>9113117
The Greeks did a lot of philosophy. Then no one did anything. Then during the Enlightenment, Europeans did a lot of philosophy, much of it referencing the earlier philosophy by the Greeks. Then in the modern era, everyone did a lot of philosophy, much of it building on the Europeans, who themselves built on the Greeks.
If you want to know what the fuck anyone is on about, you'll start with the Greeks.
