Looking to purchase a good, dependable survival knife, front runner right now is the KA-BAR with the Kraton handle. What does /k/ like?

>>
Any of ESEE's or Becker's blades are good, just pick one.
>>
>>28321088
go to a knife store and fingerfuck any ESEEs, Ka-Bars or Beckers you can get your hands on.
>>
>>28321088
Stock Ka-Bar's suck. The ontario SP1 will treat you better if you really want a clip point, but in a survival knife you probably want to avoid a clip point.
>KaBar BK2 is god-tier and won't snap on you if you're batoning or chopping wood
>Gerber LMFII is god-tier because integral sharpener, pommel can be used as a mallet in the sheath
>ESEEs are great
>OKC ASEK is good but smallish
>anything from SOG is okay quality, but anything other than the SEAL and SEAL PUP will likely disappoint you
>Ontario RTAK and RAT knives are great but basically ESEE clones

Steel case ammo: Good? Bad? Depends? It works fine in my Mosin and Vepr, but I recently got a handgun and everybody says to avoid it like the plague. Is there any particular reason to do so? Only problem I've had with it so far is maybe the cases splitting 1 in every 30-40 or so.

It's not good ammo but it puts holes in things
>>
the only real downsides to steel are

1. isn't as elastic as brass.
2. doesn't hold heat like brass.
3. doesn't store as well as brass.
>>
For being steel case, I actually by a lot of it in 9 mm (next shipment is around 3000 rounds) For my Beretta 92 and Beretta Nano because I tend to be a range faggot who goes there every Wednesday for 2 hours.

I get maybe 6 "bad eggs" (Squibs/Hangfires) per 100 rounds I usually wait after it goes "click" to see if something happens because I don't want to be that dindu that blows a few fingers off playing with duds.

Usually, when people talk about improving the 5.56, they talk about increasing the caliber, such as going to a 6.5mm round instead. But what about the other direction? Why not introduce a .19 inch caliber cartridge? 5.0x45mm would be pretty nifty.

I'm really tired of dragging my feet about getting one of these, I know I don't like the set color options of the pre-customized guns but I can't decide if I should buy an inox or a black brigadier to send in. I'm looking for opinions and anyone who has Wilson guns to give opinions and share experiences, especially the Berettas. Also Beretta thread.

I'd rather buy an M9A3 now that they're available and cost about the same or a touch less than the WC.
>Convertible to FS or G configuration easily by yourself instead of having a one way permanent conversion by WC to G.
>Vertec frame, but comes with Hogue grips to make it exactly like a regular 92 frame if you like.
>Factory threaded barrel with a flush thread protector that won't cause holster compatibility issues
About the only thing the WC has over the M9A3 is WC's handful of parts and a polished trigger pull. Depending on how much you value those two things, it's hard to justify the WC over the M9A3. The M9A3 just has more actual features going for it.

Does anyone else prefer bolt actions for range fun?

Working the bolt is just awesome, feels incredibly good and fun. A semi auto is just boring unless you want to blow shit up quickly.

Pic related. I got the chance of shooting one of these and it was awesome.

>>
I always bring a milsurp bolt action with me to the range, usually a mosin or mauser. Uses less ammo and I do actually enjoy working the bolt, same for lever actions. I agree it gets you feeling more involved with firing the gun vs semi autos.
>>
working the bolt is incredibly fun. I like anything you have to manually cycle to semiautos for fun.
>>
Yep. It feels very personal. I love it.
