Washingtonfags I need your help. I'm moving to Seattle for work from Arizona, and I'll be living in Burien. Originally I was planning on bringing all my tacticool gear and part of my arsenal, SCAR 17s, AR, Glock 17, P2000sk.
However, I heard that Burien is a ghetto and the crime rate, especially the burglary rate is through the roof. I already have my Washington CPL, and now I'm thinking of only bringing the AR and P2000sk, and have my parents bring the SCAR and glock when I switch apartments. I'm not worried about being mugged, mainly worried about Tyrone stealing all my shit when I'm away.
What do I do, /k/, I spent all that money on fun stuff, and now I probably won't be able to use it until I find a better place. How worried should I be about the crime in Burien?

also, I plan on buying another Benelli M4 with my signing bonus, which are the best gun stores in the Seattle area?
Do I seriously have to pay sales tax if I buy the gun online?
Can I buy long guns with an Arizona drivers license?
You can't buy a safe?

Post some wacky, odd and overcomplicated firearms that would otherwise can only be described as over-engineered or designed by a german
>>28325097
What the fuck hans
So engineered even adolf hitler hated it because it was too complicated in the first place
How would you go about killing people if you were a serial killer?
What weapon would you use? Who would your Targets be? What kind of Detection evasion strategies would you use?

I'd like to mortar cars in the mall parking lot.
Fuck I'm getting hard just thinking about it.
Nice big mortar, 120mm?
Fuck those assholes they can't park for shit.
Does that even count?
Don't care, have some WP.

>The lethality and survivability of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is still largely unproven, 6 years after delivery of the lead ships. LCS was designed with reduced requirements as compared to other surface combatants, and the Navy has since lowered several survivability and lethality requirements and removed several design features—making the ship both less survivable in its expected threat environments and less lethal than initially planned.

>and the Navy has since lowered several survivability and lethality requirements and removed several design features
Yeesh. At what point does someone go "we should make the problem fit the ship" rather than make the ship fit the problem. When is that ever a good idea.
>Govt. goes 'we need a cheap, basic, mass producible corvette for the 21st century'
>LM, GD and Raytheon management collectively jizz their pants thinking about how much money they can squeeze out of the US govt.
What makes these companies think it's ok to just fail on contracts like this?
Surely the whole point of using contracts is so that the Navy can just go 'we want this, this and this', companies go 'sure, it'll cost this much' and then the shit gets delivered.
Why doesn't the Navy just start up it's own shipyards at this point?

It's not a really fair point, there was never a realistic way to build them to the original spec with the weapons, sensors and suitability systems of a full sized DDG or fucking cruiser.
The first idea, of a light, versatile shallow water ship able to land troops, carry choppers and drones and do jobs a destroyer or frigate is too big for was a solid one but they never nailed down exactly what it was for early on and ended up with some crazy ambitious shit and two wildly different designs.
The "let's make them baby FG" was intended to calm the fears that they were too lightly armed, but realistically cramming Aegis onto one would add too much weight and increase crew requirements too much. People bitching about the navy saying they can't survive a naval engagement are idiots. These things are supposed to be super patrol boats, not battleships.
The navy should strip them down more, clearly state what the fuck they are for and build less anyway because they never had a real plan of where the fuck they'd find the people to crew them.
Someone told me you can join the military and stay at a base/never get deployed.
They said you get paid less of course.
Is this true?
Is there a name for that type of position?
POG
>>28334743
I was a 25P for 6 1/2 years. $40000 sign-on in 2008 and never once saw a deployable unit.
>>28334776
>>28334756
Is it possible to join/apply to be a POG?
Instead of joining as an infantry that may be deployed?
Just got my CC
Looking for a small 9mm gun to carry.
I really like the M&P shield 9mm although I just shot the XDS 9mm...fuck I can shoot that thing so much more accurate.
What should I get for a every day carry? I'm a noob at this.
>>28334428
I carry the shield, didn't like the grip safety and the trigger on the xD
>>28334440
the split trigger is a weird feeling. Did you replace the trigger on the shield? the reset is kinda mushy and indistinguishable
The XD doesn't get as much love as it used to. I remember the days when the XD vs Glock threads ruled this board.
I personally like the added assurance of the grip safety for carry, but I've also never shot the XD.
IMHO, carry the biggest gun that is comfortable, concealable, and you can shoot well. I'd rather have a ruger lcp I take everywhere, than a shield I leave at home.
If the shield is more comfy, get that. Get what you'll carry.
So I got a Yugo SKS for Christmas, and it's covered in cosmoline.
I basically know how to remove it (I did it to my nugget like 2 and a half years ago and my friend helped too) but I wanted to know how you guys go about it.
I think we washed it down, used some paint thinner and let it soak and stuck the metal parts in the oven, I remember leaving the stock in the sun for a few days but I probably won't do that this time since I live in Indiana
Pic unrelated
I use boiling water and mineral spirits for the metal parts. I use a heat gun and shop towels for the stock.
Fellow Hoosier here.
>>28334422
hit it with Formula 409 on both the stock and the metal, then boil the metal, then spray the metal with ballistol
I just spray mine with WD-40 then wipe it all off
Is Merkava worlds best tank?

I like how the very next episode, there was a very deliberate slow motion sequence that used actual blanks. There was also that time Shaw used a P90 one handed and it looked like a fucking joke.
RIP Hersch.
I've been looking to trade in one of my AR's for an AK so I reached out on Armslist and got a few replies. Mostly all WASR (except a guy trying to trade me a 223 Wylde AR pistol). What do, /k/omerades?
Pic related, my shit sniffing cunt AR
Trade it for cash then buy an AK, you'll get more that way.
Also scrub your shit with paint remover.
Take some paint thinner to that AR and maybe you'll get more potential buyers.
>>28333510
Will consider it, what's a good base price for a pretty standard AR? I got this as a gift from a buddy and all I know is that it's Aero Precision, multi cal, 1:7 twist, threaded FN barrel, upgraded trigger, bcm charging handle.
It runs flawlessly.
I hate that I did that to my baby but funny thing is these armslisters fucking love it.
What can a Glock 17 do that a 19 can't?

Fit in my giant hands.
Alright /k/, Mythbusters was playing on my TV in the background. Took a glance and holy fuck. I had to rewind to check and see if I wasn't dreaming.
So, some information before we get to this... thing. In this episode they were testing the myth that in WWII, Japs were slicing hot machine gun barrels in half with their swords. They then went into an animation to show how a barrel can get hot from firing. Alright, basic info for anyone with some common sense, but whatever. So they show a graphic of a bolt-action firing a round.
Prepare your mind.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!?!

How easy is it to get away with murder?
You have to watch like four seasons of CSI first, so pretty hard.
Depends if you do it legally.
become a cop.
you get paid vacation too.
