Alright /k/ I've been looking at getting a Beretta 92A1 for quite a while. Recently the Taurus 92 was brought to my attention. I've heard that it is reliable with most ammo, I like the position of the safety/decocker, and I can pick one up for $250 less than the Beretta. So does /k/ have an opinion on this handgun? I know Taurus has a bad reputation for reliability and quality control but Is the PT92 an exception?

You will constantly wish you had bought the Beretta and will develop sour grapes about it. The Taurus is a serviceable gun but the fit and finish of the Beretta will be superior.

I kick myself for buying a $150 cheaper marlin knockoff made by rossi.
But I got a lil $100 3-9x 40 scope.
Don't listen to these fools, I have one and it's flawless. Great purchase, runs all ammo just fine.
Anybody have any experience with the Al Mar Falcon Ultralight? Just the sight of it makes my peepee tingle.
>bonus dakka for identifying the spyderco upon which the falcon is mounted
op here my bad, Al Mar hawk ultralight
>just look at the way it dominates that sypyderco. You can tell that the spydie is reluctant to surrender its spyder hole but the hawk is having none of that shit. The hawk knows exactly what it wants from the spyderco and it won't give up until it gets it.
They're both very nice looking knives.

I have been edc'ing an Al Mar Eagle Ultralight for the past 6 months and I love it
And the Spyderco looks like a Leafstorm with a black handle
Im wondering, the planes on carriers that are above deck, open to the elements, how much are they affected by the weather?
Surely after 10/20/30/40 years some planes get some serious problems with the environments they traverse
Or does basic maintenance suffice?

In aviation squadrons daily corrosion inspections are done and parts/airfranes are cleaned and treated with either preservative fluids to prevent corrosion or repainted to protect surfaces. Corrosion prevention is a never ending battle in the fleet and lots of man hours of work are eaten up by it.
Salt water (and for that matter salty air) are the main problems due to corrosion of airframes and parts. Naval aircraft have a maintenance schedule that includes periodic washdowns with fresh water and soap which removes the salt, dirt, grime, spilled fluids and assists in identifying problem areas.
An aircraft carrier can avoid most severe weather thanks to modern weather forecasting and satellites. However the ship will steer through occasional small squalls and rain storms on purpose because the fresh water is available and free. The fresh water used daily is produced aboard ship and it takes up to 500 gallons of fresh water converted to steam for each catapult shot as well as that used for cooking, hygiene etc etc.

Thanks, quite informative
>>28336157
>>28336234
Also, let's not forget that aircraft on the flight deck are constantly rotated through the hangar deck for maintenance and storage. While there are almost always aircraft being stored on the flight deck, they're not all the SAME aircraft. Any given aircraft may only spend half the deployment or less (or a little more) being stored on the flight deck.
/k/, what is the point of attack helicopters? It seems like you can do everything that you can do with them using a tank/vehicle since they can still not be hindered by geography by using radar/sattelite weapons that shoot over obstacles.
>>28335854
loitering.
stand-off weapons in interdiction and attack roles.
low profile recon.

I'm sorry OP but you went full retard on this one.
delete your shitty thread and end your life, you're not allowed to post here any longer.

>Here’s the thing: more than almost anyone, I know the devastation handguns can cause. As a journalist who has covered many mass shootings, I’ve watched families ripped apart by death. I’ve seen entire communities shattered because some jerk who couldn’t control himself decided to take out his anger on the world with a weapon.
>I have no illusions that I’m going to be the proverbial good guy with a gun. And even worse, I know the statistics that show I’m at risk, as a middle-age white man living in Colorado, of using the gun to kill myself.
>I recognize that my decision doesn't make the best logical sense. My head knows that. On the other hand, we humans are emotional creatures, and this decision helps me feel better. Perhaps there's just some comfort in feeling like I'm taking action, even if all the statistics tell me I might actually just be making the problem worse
>What else should I do? Our politicians have demonstrated they aren’t actually serious about reducing gun violence in America. I mean, while we accept that car crashes kill about 30,000 people annually, at least there’s a serious effort underway to reduce that number. And at the same time, there does appear to be an actual belief around the world and in our own country that Americans are a soft target.
>It’s those innocent bystanders that have me worried. I’ve been in Aurora, in Roseburg, in Killeen. Time and time again, mass murderers have targeted groups that were unprepared to fight back. Soft targets. What a terrible phrase.
>For me, like for many people I’ve talked to, San Bernardino was the tipping point. As someone who goes to lots of community meetings and rallies, I’m all too aware of how vulnerable we are. A holiday party? Your co-workers? (For me, it started with movie theaters.) I’m not a fan of waiting for the next attack from a religious terrorist.
The pendulum always swings
>>28335750
is this what it takes to make people saddle up? a complete disillusion with the socially organized force and law enforcement?
>>28335874
If so, good thing we have both in droves.
>tank actually carries ammo
One question: why?
Do you want to lose your tank the second it gets spotted by an RPG team? Store the ammo somewhere else you dumbshits.
ok let's roll into battle without ammo
>>28335739
Who cares if the crew is dead either way? Why not put the crew outside of the tank instead?
>>28335739
Brilliant OP. Please alert the army that they're doing it all wrong by storing ammo inside their tanks. What an embarrassing oversight.
My dad recently moved to Utah from California after retiring. I've lived here for almost a decade. Yesterday he mentioned he wanted to CC and likes PPKs (I've never fired or even touched one). My questions are: Is the PPK worth it? He wants it cambered in 9×18, would he be better getting a Makarov instead? Lastly, would be be better off with a pistol that fires a 9×19. (His experience with projectile weapons: Skeet shooting and hunting small game with an old savage .22, he is also 65 years old but in good health for his age if that's a factor.
Ruger LC9 is cheaper, objectively better, and has cheaper ammo.
Are you sure he said 9x18? Why would he want 9x18 when .380 is the same shit?
>>28335684
1. the PP, PPK, and PPK/S were only ever in .25 ACP, .32 ACP, .380 ACP, and .22LR. there is a 9x18 Ultra, but unless he's keen on finding one and moderately wealthy, he'll never get one.
2. none of the above (the P1 and P22 are the only ones currently) are on the CA roster of safe handguns, so unless he's a cop he'll never be able to buy one from a dealer as a regular person, only PPT or C&R.
3. unless he's wealthy, politically connected, or lives in particular areas, he will never get a CC permit in CA.
4. the PPK is a great handgun, kinda heavy and snappy for what it is, but pretty good otherwise. served alongside the PP as a police sidearm for 50+ years.
/k/ was this an actual concept or just some fan made thing?
>>28335666
i don't know, satan
>>28335666
What do you think?

My googlefu results in a bunch of sketchy websites so i'd say fake
would variable wings even work with stealth
The 7th sks I have been through, and one of two I own now
My first and only SKS. '53 Tula. I would like to get maybe a Chinese someday to mount a PU scope on.

Let's go guys
mind the back blast
/k/ what has been your worst nightmare dealing with firearms? What gun has caused you the most strife? Weather it was shitty to begin with or just broke out of the blue, lets hear your stories.
>>28335181
None really.
The worst thing I've ever had happen firearms wise was setting off two rounds at once in a Mosin due to a double feed.
>>28335181
Glock 19 gen 4. Worked fine for about 800-1k rounds then it started pooping rounds out on my hand. Couple hundred rounds later and it was FTE all the time. Sent to Glock 3 times to fix it and it came back the same every time. I sold the piece of shit for an HK uspc.
>>28335207
What caliber? I carry one in .45
What's know the name of that generic sad war theme? You know the one.

What compels people to do this shit and why are there so many of them?

Did you call him on it? You weren't a soft cunt, were you anon?

Obviously you're looking at the man who invented the time machine, OP. You should be happy that your group was the first to hear of his exploits using it.
you are now aware that the main part of the abraham tank (the rheinmetall main gun) is german.
>>28334038
This is bad?
>>28334052
Oh, and also, it's a derivative of the leopard.
Britain and France are the only 2 western nations that don't use the Rheinmetall or a derivative.
wife bought a a shitload of land for christmas. how should I build a comfy shooting range?
Looks nice. What state, sempai?

Build a nice big berm at somewhere and you'll be good.
