>Looking to buy my first revolver (want a dan wesson)
>not rich
>want to shoot it often and become a great shot
>want to go revolver hunting
>also want to cc it on occasion (already have a 30s for daily carry)
>.357 or .44
.357 mag
>can buy .38 special for cheap plinking
>debatable as to the viability for hunting larger game (large white tail/elk/moose)
>Less abuse as far as recoil
.44 mag
>expensive as shit to take to the range
>gonna kill anything I'm going after
>closer to having a big iron on his hip
I'm really at a crossroads here, I have never hunted with a revolver and as far as the caliber difference most recommend the .44, it's just so damn expensive to shoot compared to .357/.38sp.
Any advice from you who own one or both of these calibers?
>>29470807
Pretty sure that 357 will kill damn near anything in North America with expanding bullets & decent accuracy
>>29470807
start with a 357
you can always get a 44 later when you have more money to spend on guns and ammo
>>29470878
I own 2 357's
1 .38special
2 45acp
1 9mm
1 380
1 25acp
1 9mm para
I have shot multiple 44mags
45 long colts
Haven't needed to buy one yet, I don't live in bear country
Is the Marine Corps the biggest meme in the military? So much media attention is dedicated to them despite their small size and people trip over themselves to join even though they have less enlistment benefits. If anything it's remarkable they've continued to exist as a separate branch for so long. Someone please explain?
>>29470788
The illusion of choice.
It's just a dumb running meme
and the marines indoctrinate everyone who joins so they don't even see their stupidity/incompetence
A QR force on the go anywhere in the world in 24 hours, taking ground so that the army can hold it(in theory, though that didn't quite pan out in Iraq). If the army wanted to be as cool, they'd have hired better marketers.
How far can sociopaths get in the military or law enforcement? Are they easily discovered once they get in? Have you worked under one?
I don't mean edgy fat kids who wear black and kill puppies, but folks like pic related. Most CEOs and politicians qualify as sociopaths.
Pretty far I assume. They're notoriously good at faking normal human emotions but aren't affected by the difficulties associated with them.
He'd be a badass if he didn't cross dress.
He dealt with personnel who felt they could progress their career by "getting cozy".

>How far can sociopaths get in the military or law enforcement?
depends, if they are high functioning like Bateman, very far. I had a kid I was in charge of, years later I realized he was a sociopath.
>Be out of Army in school on GI Bill
>taking intro to psych because I have to
>flipping through text book one night and notice side bar
>The X traits of a sociopath
>problems with authority, but will often join the military
>extremely intelligent, but often HS drop out
>when getting into trouble can not understand why they are in trouble
on and on, word for word it was my soldier. One of only two Joes I ever recommended get an Art 15
Why do different militaries use different unit sizes at the lower levels?
I've just been reading about armor organization and while the US uses 4 tanks per platoon, the Russians are experimenting with 5, Chinese use 3, Brits can't make up their minds, etc, I've seen very little information on why they choose to do things the way they do.
Another example - if one battalion has three companies, and another has 4, with the same number of men overall, does the 4-company battalion have an advantage or disadvantage or neither?

To those in the know, what is a cheap and easy kit to make? Things look so cheap, but then you realize that that the only in stock repair section / semi auto receiver is like $300
Plus making things semi auto is a bitch.
So what is a good beginners budget build?
I want to buy one old Mauser gun, I'm not sure how much one costs.
And then cut and change it to the Han solo's blaster.
The largest tool I have is a hand drill. Is it that hard to cut and modify?

Britfag here, is there any way I can buy a balisong online? I've seen dodgy websites which ship them in parts but the majority of them are a huge rip-off when it comes to prices.
All help is appreciated.

I have a complete kit, It is from 1979 and never has been fired. I feel a feeling my pants when I see pictures of it. Of course I would rather had a SVD.
Any TACPs or ALO (Air Liaison Officers) in here? I am interested in becoming an ALO but I havent done AFROTC. Are there OTS slots for ALOs? As in can you apply as a civilian then become an ALO? What is the life of an ALO like? I here they dont get to fight and see action as much as the enlisted TACPs.. bumping with pics.

Fuck off.
Well that's all we need....

Is a Tikka T3 considered fudd?
I have looked for info on a translator MOS, but i gotta know, what branch would be the best, how likely are you to be deployed overeas, the training process, what languages would you have to learn and all that
I also speak gucci french and will probs be fluent or pretty near fluent by the time I enlist
>>29469391
We just hired a fucking local.
Didn't even know it was an MOS.
French is almost worthless and it wouldn't even matter if you were currently fluent. When you reach Defense Language Institute the Army/USMC basically checks whatever language is needed at that moment and what language classes have free spots. I had a friend who has almost fluent in Russian and when he showed up at DLI they went "Thats cute but we need Arabic Translators enjoy learning Arabic".
>>29469416
idk it exists and theres a school for it in California, do you know of any home grown ones?
Let's get a list going of some guns, typically used by FUDDS, that are given a modern "black gun" update to taint their beloved blued-steel, engraved-wood go-to gats.
Pictured here is a Mossberg 464 Lever-Action with a telescopic stock and RIS rails.
Let's see some more funs that would make the "you don't need nine millimeter to hunt" crowd!
>>29469331
Let's not.
>>29469331
If they only made that gun in 357 mag, 44mag or 45-70, hell even 22lr or 22mag
30-30, what a fucking waste of a good idea
Does this count?
Help bro's!
I need info on this knife.
>>29469252
Can confirm,
It's a knife.
>T. A knife expert.
>>29469308
Thank you, my idea was to find out in which country they were made Turkish, Russian or someone else?
Bump for knowledge
So which is the better round?
5.56x45 or 5.45x45?
7.62x51 or 7.62x39?
>>29469198
7.62x45
Which is better, a wider bullet or a narrow bullet?
Which is better, a faster bullet or a slower bullet?
Weak bait.
7.62x39 and 7.62x51are completely incomparable, as they are used for different purposes. It's like trying to compare sharks and lions asking which one is the better predator.
