I've heard it said that Izumo can't handle F-35Bs but could they use a STOVL drone if one were to be made for carrier operations?
They could in theory operate both.
They will not operate the former.
There's a question about muh melting deck with F35B, they'd suffer limitations because no >ramp and likely dozens of support/maintenance issues that would need to be addressed first.
And yeah, there's a good number of fixed wing drones that can be launched on the back of DDs and FGs.

When you look at it, them japanese destroyer isn't that much smaller than nimitz class (and it's a conventional CODAG propulsion instead of a nuclear ones)
Is this the biggest flat top ship outside of the nimitz class?
Hey y'all I'm new to ARs, quick question.
I was out firing a few days ago for the first time, and the first 15 or so rounds were fine, but then it started to stick. Like I'd pull the trigger and it sounded like there was incomplete movement, like something was sticking.
Then I pulled the trigger and the round didn't fire at all. it had a small indent but didnt go anywhere.
I broke it all down and cleaned and lubed the fuck out of it, but i'm a bit worried because I've never had a gun not work on me before.
BTW I'm using federal ammo which seems to have a good reputation for reliability.

>its the weekend
>/k/ still dead
ok then
>>29468977
last try
to clarify my question, what caused it not to fire?"
It was a light primer strike.
What brand/model AR do you have? And if you built it give us a basic parts list. On second thought if you built it we wouldn't really be having this thread.
Who would win?
5000 renault ft tanks or one m1 abrams tank?
The fight takes place in a field several kilometers long.
I think it would actually be a stalemate
wtf you fucking faggot
sage, fuck you
Renaults for sure. 5000 renoults would prob win fight againts a sun.
I was looking into getting my first bolt action rifle and I had my eyes on pic related, any other suggestions /k/?
Expect to pay $2-300 for a moist nugget these days, and you could probably get a Mauser instead at that price range.
However if you enjoy the history of the Mosin then by all means get one.
>>29468721
Thanks /K/ommando I will look at some Mausers, but I might still go for the nugget
>>29468745
What are you looking to do with said rifle?
Post cute derringers.
>>29468604
these are the worst, most pointless firearms ever conceived.
>>29468616
What, you don't like tiny cute pistols? They weren't that much worse than common larger pistols at the time.
>>29468604
Why are theses weapons so ugly? It's just did they do a random sketch when the guy making the gun was like whats it gonna look like?
>>29468652
This looks somewhat acceptable.
Has anyone else noticed that gun are no longer something only pasty faces crusty old men are into
>be me 6 years ago
>go to gun show
>was the only non white non old guy walking around
>sometimes see the occasional older Asian man
>go to range to rent gun because under aged fag and the only people in the lanes next to me where white middle aged men
Flash forward to a few months ago
>go to same gun show but know I see
>Mexican vendors and other Hispanics walking around
>black white collar looking man in a suit
>women shopping for guns
>younger Asians walking around
>go to range and see Hispanics idians and Arabs shooting
Has this happened in your state or is still full of old white men
No, you're just stupid.
I live in the south SF bay area and I see thus a lot. Many of them are engineers. You'd be surprised how many of the Apple and Google people are way into guns. They love tinkering. Ars are popular.
You should see em in the gun stores. They buy LWRCs, LMTs and DDs like nothing. Loads of money. The dealers can't keep S&W TRR8s in stock ever since CSGO added them.
>>29468813
>You'd be surprised how many of the Apple and Google people are way into guns
pretty common thing for tech guys to be into guns. i dont think ive met an tech guy yet that wasnt huge into guns. i will say, hanging out here ive learned a FUCKLOAD and its nice to be able to out knowledge these computer nerds in something.
Looking for a new molle capable bugout bag.
The stitching on the chest strap of my 50 dollar Midway USA bag ripped and I'm looking for a better one.
Is the 5.11 Tactical Rush pack worth $90?
Can anyone recommend a more cost-effective bugout bag?
>post your packs
>shitpost
>patronize others on their gear
>>29468403
Got my 5.11 24hour backpack a year ago, Love it, holds 50pounds of books (muh college) and still fun to ruck with it at night with weights in it, strong everywhere would recommend
>>29468403
>50 dollar Midway USA bag
There's your problem. You're buying this heavy poorly made tactifool shit. Really, get something from Kelty, Osprey, Deuter, or Lowe Alpine. They have internal frame, hold up for years of use, are lightweight, and they don't stick out.
Rather than a bug out bag I suggest a bug out bicycle or motorcycle. Though it all depends on what your goal is.
Why does anyone like these overrated memeguns?
>OMG D00D IT'S DA BEST AK VARRIENT
>has zero experience with them
>muh cancer animays :DDD so u know its good :DDD
>fugg le spurdo sparde :DDDD
The only time someone here has hands on experience with these things is being a fuck fuck conscript in the finnish army when they were 18 and nothing more.
It's just as bad as the rabid svd and vss fanboyism
>>29468313
As a Finn I agree. They are overengineered, soulless and boring. Also not practical at all to mount optics.
Lmao @ at everyone who owns a Sako as reservist rifle instead of Arsenal, Saiga, etc for 1/3 or even 1/4 for the price. Even traitor 5.56 AR15 owners are better.
Finnish small arms production is sold overseas and dead. Galil > ValMet/Sako
Also get the fuck out of this board Finns or don't namedrop Finland every fucking second.
If you own firearms then OK, but don't spout your conscript "knowledge" mixed with tacticool video games, chances are you only touched 'salt rifles in your 6 month service as a laundryman.

fuck, I'm gonna smoke weed and play world of tanks now :/
itt: cops pretend they have feelings but still get paid leave
Are fat people more bullet proof?
more penetration needed to reach vitals
they'll probably bleed the same if not more
>>29468095
Yes.
Instead of wearing kevlar we should be eating burgers and fries, I guess
Have you gotten your milsurp yet?
meme'd my package right the fuck up
what could it be??
Manly shorts for manly men, austrian pants + shirt, and some badges, thats right!
I have only owned a Ruger (pos) 9mm before and decided to go with this Beretta. Is it /k/ approved?
>>29467698
They're nice guns. Only downside is those shit stock grips, they feel terrible in your hands. change them out and it is 10/10
>>29467698
I'm not a fan of DA/SA or slide mounted safeties or aluminum frames or those fat grips, but Beretta makes a quality product.
>>29467704
Thanks, good to know. I like how the grip feels. It's nice and heavy and seems to be built really well.
Instead of semi-auto ones?
If you miss the shot, you are fucked aren't you.
While with a semi-auto you can give fast consecutive shots.
>>29467691
>While with a semi-auto you can give fast consecutive shots.
And that's not an important requirement for a sniper. The military is naturally conservative when it comes to procurement. If there is no clear advantage to getting something different, they usually don't bother. Now, SOCOM does make extensive use of semi-auto sniper rifles like the SR-25.
>>29467691
Can we put the answer to this in the sticky so there's not a damn thread about it every day.
>>29467691
semi auto are designated marksman rifles
bolt action are still used because less moving parts = more accuracy
Realistically speaking, could a lone guy win over multiple people (from 3 to 5) in a firefight?
considering he has better training and guns
does better training and guns give you better chances to win when you're outnumbered, or are you dead anyway?
>>29467521
Yes

1 vs 3-5 guys in an open field
1 is probably going to lose
3-5 guys enjoying a drink, and 1 gets the drop on them
I think 1 has a very good chance
3-5guys actively searching for 1 in a dark mazelike environment
I'm not sure
Overall OP I think it's more about the circumstances and environment that determine the victor
Anyone know much about the S&W Model 59? My dad has one and its pretty fuckin' fantastic. Wondering if there's much aftermarket or any improvements that can be made. If I can talk him into it, I'll probably end up buying it from him.
Also, fuck off Nick.
Best improvement you can make is buy a 1911.
