Honestly nothing would happen right away, no cop with a shred of self-preservation would go door to door to collect guns. There would be a grace period, buy-backs and the like, some people would turn in their guns but many would not. But even after the grace period ends a mass round-up isn't going to happen. There would be busts of course and they would be highly publicized with the usual "massive arsenal of over four deadly assault weapons and over 200 rounds of cop-killing ammunition were taken off the street today in a daring daylight raid by our noble police force!" Followed by a stern threat to turn in your guns before they come for you. There's simply not enough man-power to go door to door in every city, town and village in the US. Not to mention the potential for chaos and violence. If even a tiny percentage of gun owners decide to start sabotaging infrastructure or fighting it out a lot of shit's going to get wrecked and the police would find themselves on the losing end of a war of attrition and if things got really bad they'd have to not only watch their own backs but those of their family too. Having an MRAP is cool and all but it won't help when somebody is pitching molotovs at your house at 3am or abducting your kid at the bus stop. Civil wars tend to be the most bloody, messy affairs imaginable and mastuerbatory /k/ommando fantasies aside nobody really wants that.

They are quite good for clay trap shooting and hunting birds in places where you are limited to 3 round capicty, given it's more fun then a 870 with a goddamn wooden dowel stuffed in the magazine.

In most cases, it's less practical then other options. If you are picking between that and nothing, it's a damn fine choice for personal defense, hunting and home security.

Talk to them. Listen to them. Look at the gear they emphasize. Watch them in the field when possible. Challenge them to light a backyard fire for a cookout and observe. Is their knife sharp? Does their BoB change by season?

It's not a scientific survey, but combining personal encounters and experiences, YouTube videos (and their followers), forum and /k/ posts/comments, etc., it's apparent that the vast majority of the visible BoB "community" is about as competent as a 12y/o who loves everything military would be if dropped in an actual combat zone.
