Why was it so famous?
>>30742034
It's just a very solid and well-engineered action. This lead to very widespread adoption (basically the AK-47 of it's time) and today almost all modern production bolt-action rifles are in some way derived from it.

...So let's just imagine you need to get some troops ... err sorry visitors .... to a remote little island in a bit of a hurry!
I really, really, really like this plane. Mind if I save it?

I'm planning on joining an elite military unit. I gave myself one year of preparation. What should I focus on?
I'm now commuting between runs, the swimming pool and the gym.
Should I add in interval training? And should I skip the weightlifting and opt for calisthenics and maybe even some BJJ or boxing?
Why join?
Honor? Experience? Suicide?
What elite military unit?
>>30741939
Honestly just do a ton of cardio and on the weekends try to do a loaded pack hike. It does depend on the unit you're joining though. Of course weight lifting can never hurt but you want a ton of stamina rather then a ton of strength. Progressive calisthenics would be optimal of weight lifting for this as well. It's up to you though.
Hey /k/ommandos, what type of weapon/ name is pic related?
I've been looking into getting my first firearm and this rifle could be it.
>>30741869

How the fuck do I push in the spring to take of the button I have a new 1911 and I cannot fucking move it. I put some oil and it's a little better but I'm having trouble moving the bushing still..
Man the fuck up bitch nigger
>>30741776
You need a bushing wrench you nigger, rotate the bushing and remove it.
>>30741842
This
Push in button. Rotate bushing one way to remove spring, the other way to remove the bushing.
Push slide back to removal position, push retention out. This is the biggest pain for me, mine always gets stuck.
Jesus fuck. Under 2K rounds and the thing is no longer safe to fire. It makes the RAS47 look like a good choice by comparison. I honestly cannot believe that these things are available for sale anywhere.

Now that I'm older and intend on getting married soon and starting a family, I've become more worried about my own safety and that of my soon-to-be family's. I currently own a firearm, but I don't think that is enough. I intend on getting a concealed permit and teaching my soon-to-be wife how to operate a firearm, so she can protect herself when I'm not around. No matter the location or event, I want the ability to protect my family from any outside forces. Is this normal? Am I a man, or am I just a fucking faggot?
>>30741640
What kinda gun ya got???
>>30741640

Glock 17, but I plan on buying a Glock 19 for CC.
I'm looking at getting myself a bullpup rifle, I like them I've worked with the L85 and I was just wondering which one is currently the best on the market at the moment. Or should I hold out to see the reviews of the F90?
> inb4 hurt durr L85
>>30741465
IIRC, aren't L85's import banned?
>>30741465
The K&M M17S is the closest thing to the L85 currently on the market.
>>30741465
Fs2000 is your best option, but also the hardest to find and the most expensive.
Next is the AUG. Some will say it's better than the FN, but I don't. It's still fantastic though and has the best mags for a 5.56 rifle.
After that is the Tavor. Great rifle and has the best aftermarket of parts.
After those 3 you have all the new comers/small ball players. The M17s, the Norinco 97, the RDB&RFB and the x95.
Is there any reason M855 is superior to M193 for 5.56mm besides barrier penetration?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8vkighPlBoc
No.
>>30741395
better performance from 1/7 twist barrels. Though most barrels offered in the civilian market are 1/9.
>>30741499
Isn't that negligible until like 500m+?
i am trying to write book it is not realistic, it will have characters with almost "superpowers", the characters will be fighting in urban environment but the city sometimes has regions filled with grass and such.

I'm going to be buying my first gun tomorrow, but I want some opinions before I proceed.
Is it a bad idea to buy a really nice gun as my first? The lgs I went to has a new Mark 23 for $1800, and I can afford it. Is this completely overkill for my first? I'm not sure if it would be weird to show up at a beginners handgun class with a super pistol.
Pic related
buying a really nice gun? Fine.
buying a Mk 23? Stop now.
Too fucking big mang. Unless you want to LARP as Solid Snake just get a regular sized usp or something.
>>30741049
As a first gun, it'll last almost forever and eat all .45 ACP (unless you're unlucky), so if you want a tank of a handgun that will last probably most of your life (most bc plastic frame), go for it.
But i'd honestly go for a USP .45 if you want something similar but not as ass-blastingly expensive (well, not by much but still) and much, much smaller.

Here's a good Army film that was produced to try to instill (false) confidence in GIs facing Hitler's buzzsaw.
https://youtu.be/35R2WENXMl8
https://youtu.be/IWAf3dQxAfQ
>>30740912
That was a good video, but it wasn't a real false confidence type of deal. They showed that all theirs would and could hit the target, just that theirs were better.
More installing confidence into the weapons and knowledge about the enemy's drawbacks. Which is the point of this type of production.
>>30740912
That's a training film, not a propaganda film. I mean, there always can be overlap, just in this case nothing said wasn't true.
I'm talking about one that's bolt is held bad when empty. Will having the bolt caught after every shot wear out my gun faster?
nope.
Yep
repeat the question
Post them if you got 'em.
