I like the 5600 series as much as the ither guy. But the later gshocks starting with the 6600 are better for operating startjng with the possibility of having a huge central button for the backlight that can be activated wearing gloves.
Alos negative displays are shit to read in certain situations so they dont work for me

Haaaay /k/
I have a Sako M39 I very much enjoy shooting. If I had to sum it up I would say it is a very well built, utilitarian rifle in a beautiful wood stock.
I want to find the most similar modern interpretation of it. My M39 is fairly shot out and I want to preserve what capability is left for the odd special occasion 10-20-40 years from now when I want to bless somebody I care about with a really special day at the range.
.308 is my round of choice. I have been eyeing the Sako 85 (Classic/Hunter/Bavarian) and Tikka T3x (Forest and Hunter). The lack of irons on the Tikkas and Sako Classic bother me, is remedying this as easy as a couple hundred dollars and a trip to the local gunsmith?
Am I being silly by looking at Sako and Tikka? Should I just go with a Remmy 700?
The goal here is to have a incredibly pleasant range gun with accuracy that never holds me back. I have other Semis, this is just about the fun that only a bolt gun can provide.

Hey /k/. Just kinda looking for someone to comfort me, I guess. Bad shit just happened.
I'm visiting my parents for the week, and my mom just sat me down in her room and bawled her eyes out and pleaded me to sell all my guns. She told me that she didn't like me owning them, and she cried for over an hour, babbling on about how I'm going to get shot for owning them and whatnot. I was completely at a loss for what to say, so I just kinda up and left. I'm parked in a dark parking lot like a mile away from the house and I don't know how to handle this.
Guns are the only thing that really make me happy, and most of my money has gone into my guns. My mom has always been anti-gun, and if I don't sell my guns my relationship with my mother is basically over.
I didn't really know where to put this, so I'm writing it here. Sage it if it doesn't fit. Whatever.

Were battlecruisers just a meme? Why would you build a ship almost as big as a battleship, arm it with battleship level guns, and then give it flimsy armor? I understand the idea was to create a cheaper, faster alternative to the standard battleship but was this really the best way to go about that?

Noguns here, I came across this picture of a guy "open carrying" at the RNC. It's presumably mainly to make a political statement, but I'm curious, would carrying a rifle like this be practical for self-defense? Would it take significantly longer to get it into a position where you can start shooting, as compared to a holstered handgun?
