Lots of people on /k/ know perfectly well that Hi-Points are adequate for what you pay for them.
It's just people who have never touched one who go "Ew, zinc, EW, unlocked blowback!" and assumes it explodes because it's cheap (when in fact all Hi-Points are rated for +P).
Something even the haters can't deny is that the carbines are pretty nice, there's a few aftermarket stocksets available to make it a bit nicer if you really like your carbine.
Also there's 20rd mags for the 9mms, and supposedly 15rd mags for the .45

Why are guns so expensive? Shouldn't a little piece of plastic and metal like a glock or a Walter cost like $150 in materials to make? What about an AK? You'd think with modern materials they would be like $300 and a modern factory could crank them out at 2x profit right?
>>32026514
>Why are guns so expensive?
Legal monopolies.
>Shouldn't a little piece of plastic and metal like a glock or a Walter cost like $150 in materials to make?
Glocks cost 85 dollars to make.
>What about an AK? You'd think with modern materials they would be like $300 and a modern factory could crank them out at 2x profit right?
Yep, but again, legal loophoples, monopolies, and issues.
You can't buy a gun from a manufacturer, you've got to buy one from a FFL, who has to either buy one from a Distributor like Davidsons, who buys them, in large numbers, from a manufacturers. Each time that gun changes hand, the price goes up.

McHale's Navy
There is no such thing. All of them will be tainted in some way by some form of bias, be it from the writer of the script, to the country it was produced in, etc.
in terms of battle scenes or overall?

Hey /k/ what are some good on/off the range boots.
>>32025887
You need boots for the range?
>>32025907
I only like to have 1 or 2 pairs of shows at a time. So I'm looking for a pair for both on and off the range. Basically tacticool and good for everyday walking n shit.

What's /k/'s opinion on the SR-25?
Is it worth the price?
>>32025251
I put together an SR-25 Carbine clone for about $2,000. Very happy with it and wouldn't go back.
>>32025264
>I put together an AR-10
Fixed that for you.
>>32025264
A stock one fetches around $4,200. That's a mean price, but I guess I'd be willing to pay if its worth it.
People like Massad Ayoob, John Farnam, James Yeager, etc. profess to be experts on self-defense, but how many of them have actually killed anyone? How can you profess to be an expert on gunfighting if you haven't killed at least 3 or 4 men?
>>32025156
Gunfighting doesn't mean killing. You just shoot them in the chakra points to disable their ninjutsu.

Sup guys PAfag here and i was thinking about getting into hunting next year. Since I don't want to blow a grand on a hobby I'm just trying out I'm looking for a fairly cheap rifle that isn't half bad.
My top choice is a Ssvage Axis II in 30-06 but if any seasoned hunting /k/ommandos have a better suggestion for a beginner rifle I'd love to hear them
>>32025132
I've got an Axis II heavy barrel in 308, great fucking rifle for the price. Other suggestions are the Marlin and the one you're looking at.
>>32025132
remington 783
>>32025132
Tikka makes great rifles, though they are a bit expensive.
I'd recommend sticking to the "buy once, cry once" principle but the Savage certainly isn't hot garbage.
https://www.slickguns.com/search/apachesolr_search/Tikka?title_only=0&hide_oos=0&show_oos=0&calibers_filter=24
This is filtered to 30-06, but I'd suggest checking the other calibers as well.
