Tbh I have no idea how I fucking lost it. I field stripped at the spot I was at to give it a quick cleaning and let everything cool off because it started snowing heavy and we needed to get out quick. Everything went back together fine, I get home to give it a better cleaning and boom no retainer. It's probably not even at the shooting spot, it's probably in my house somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it

You live in possibly the best state for gun laws. You don't need a permit, you just have to be able to pass a background check if you want a gun from a gun store. Private sales just require you to both be residents of the same state. Go to a gun store where you can try lots of guns out. Find one you like, buy it and a shit ton of ammo and practice practice practice

I'm actually about to put in an order for an M&P sport to be sent to a local gun store, but before I do, do you know of any in the Phoenix area that might price match an online price (or at least price match + the FFL fee) ? if I can get it today I'd be extra happy. I've heard from several owners that it's the favorite gun. I've handled one, it just wasn't for me. I'm sure it's the best polymer gun out there, but personally I don't see anything jaw dropping about it to boast a grand price tag
If I was going to get a polymer gun I'd get one of those steyrs.

Never had this problem, be careful what you use to clean your optics. Always use a proper lens cloth, anything harsher will murder the anti-fog coating.

I'm assuming I must have done something like that to my old optic then, For context the old optic was a Strike Eagle. I didn't know if the anti-fog thing was strictly the gas purging for the internal or if it was external as well.

when it says sealed and gas purged it means the inside of the sight has been filled with nitrogen and permanently sealed

This keeps fog from forming up on the internals of the optic, which would be particularly bad.

Anti fog coating keeps fog from forming up on the outside surfaces of the lenses.
