better than you are now op but you don't have to be a master by any means. a lot of them hide their lack of anatomical knowledge by having flashy paintings, which a lot of people are impressed by but anyone with a trained eye for drawing and painting can spot style over substance

Is it possible to be better at drawing digitally than drawing the traditional way?
Everytime I draw something on plain paper, it feels I cant get anything right, but when I switch to a tablet or such, everything improves by a mile, or is it just that there is so much tools at your disposal when drawing digitally, that makes it feel better?
Also, the sheer ability to CTRL + Z each error is just too good
>Is it possible to be better at drawing digitally than drawing the traditional way?
Not only possible but common.
It's easier to produce a good finished piece digitally because you can fix and polish it as much as you want without 'ruining' it. That is, nothing you do is irreversible (although sometimes it can take so long to fix you may as well scrap it).
I still think it's easier to sketch traditionally though. If only in terms of control and precision.
Yes, but that's not a rule, I've seen some artists actually do better with traditional media than digital, so I think once you get the knowledge, the medium is another tool and each tool has its own advantages.
One thing that helps tradicional media is that the textures, color blending and other things, are a inherent to it and it can add a lot to the expression of your art. Most beginner digital artist suffer from having a rather artificial and plastic look in their paintings, so it also takes a while to use digital media in really interesting way.

That's true, unless you got a Cintiq, which can help a lot with that (still not the same, though).

Post em now.
Rules:
-Do not rate or give critiques unless if the artist specifically requests it.
-If someone is RUDE tell them to not expect much from an hour's work.
-Posting WIP's, studies, "doodles", and random sketches are highly encouraged.

here's the one i have
I feel like 100 posts about this will be made especially once the new year starts. Should we just get a thread for this so that we can keep it in one spot but also have some sort of way of tracking progress with one another? Could call it year long fundamentals thread or something like that but I doubt images of the perspective course will be exciting and not many people will stick through even that.
I'm now at term 2. Completely fucked up in term1, cuz i was a lazy shit, but now I adjusted it to my likings more.
Gonna have a one month term of manmade objects after this term. Tbh term 1 was just getting the right mindset for me

Here's mine.
Do artists in Japan have it better than artists in America?
>>2331049
In terms of how they are treated and paid? No.
>>2331049
in terms of having better taste and style? no
>>2331049
I wouldn't know but the use of illustrations in Japan are quite diverse.
Like a sign that warns people of "Under Construction" could have a anime/manga/original character illustration.
Or blood donation drives(like that image).
Even pachinko machines have it.
Illustrations in Japan are used in different products and services. Though I don't know the wage of these artists for these illustrations.
Anyone have this tits instructional videos or a torrent link? Even just one.
I think $15 a pop is a bit cheeky.
It's paint with Kevin by the way. He has 10 minute videos on YouTube full of cuts so you don't get to see how he's done something. He sells the full vids on his site.
>>2330240
>provides free videos you enjoy
>puts 1 video behind a paywall as support for his free content
>I want that too!
>>2330242
Read my comment nigger. He doesn't do full videos for free like bob Ross. He posts 10 minute bullshit edits of his paintings and sells the full 2 hour version on his site. There's like 20 of them.
I want at least one full tutorial to see what it's line before he Jews me into buying any off him. I'm not paying the kike $15 until I can experience a full tutorial.
I'd prefer to get them all free, but I'd be fine with one and then if it's good I'll pay for the others every few weeks or whatever.
I don't know why I'm explaining myself to you. You've made me angry. Well done.
what's your new year art resolutions, /ic/?

What's with people and using edgy in completely random contexts?
Hello /ic/ common lurker here. I've been attempting to draw loomis style heads. It's not clicking for me, here's a picture.
In short what i'm getting at here are there any other methods to drawing heads that helped you guys out? I understand turning complex forms into simple shapes, I just have immense trouble with the human head.
>>2333935
