hi guys, this is what happens. I want to give this girl I like a coffee mug with a charlie the unicorn design because she is crazy about it, but I can't find a decent big size image of charlie to make the impression :( I'm desperate so I'm drawing upon to the most drastic resource i can think of: you guys. I have this design I made by myself but it's too small. I need something about 1000x800 so the impression won't blur. Please guys if you could help me with any image or even an idea I would really appreciate it.
What do you think of my creative take on the walking dead zombie app with that moon-person cananite picture?

sounds like mommy sucks your dick every time you touch a pencil to paper
>>currently making the basis for a world to set a game in.
>>>this alignment chart shows the basic ideologies of the primal forces in this world represented by these character god type things, paired with what are basically rough sketches of what i want them to look like (squid monsters, humanoids, vaguely dark spirit things etc)
my question for yall, who has done, or been part of, a project that requires extensive world/lore building, and what are some potentially good strategies for going about doing that as a 1 man operation?
and whatever other stuff im forgetting..
>>n ya, 1 man operation, needing 2 b the jack of all trades. soo every part of these entities is far from perfect, but does it seem like generally a good direction to be going?
>>i obv think so, but posting here in hopes of running into experts/enthusiasts/wtv jus dont b a dick. thoroughly a work in progress
Bump in curiosity
While building a lore i would guess one builds the worlds rules and laws. And set a chronology with logical events that lead to the current game event. Maybe taking reference of real life past
>maybe saying the crystal clear obvious

Write down everything that's on top of your head about your setting and keep doing that until you're satisfied.
try lurking /ic/ they're building interesting worlds out of their asses all the time. Should be helpful
your arse, this time

Oh god a size 20 flat in there would be rather nice. Nice bit oil brushes~
But seriously, use those things. They're way too clean. Get painting fgt.

Oh, with that, you could my paint white inside and out of my ass.

How do you guys paint/draw cellophane/highly reflective images? Any good tutorials out there?
>>2326682
best way i guess would be to draw the highlights out in crumbled patterns. pretty much reflections n whatnot over what you have drawn
Photo studies would be your best bet, I think.
I learned all my (Shitty) art skills digitally, but I want to go back and work on my foundation.
Should I cast digital aside to work with traditional means? Or should I continue to focus on my digital progression in learning the basics of art?
imo there's really not that big of a difference.
aside from digital software aspect of it.
whether you learn the basics and progress digitally or traditionally they kind of merge into one another anyways.
it's best to try and work both though.
since it's more convenient to take a sketchbook around than a laptop in certain cases.
plus paper and pencil/ink are cheaper.
For a while, I've struggled to find my 'voice' or 'style' for my artwork. Most of my works end up pushing towards photorealism even when I don't intend for it to be so. Any recommendations or exercises you could suggest to circumvent this?
Pic related is not mine btw
post your work and let's see.
why didnt you just post as the OP image...?
Learn design.
You will never be good at stylization, no matter how good you are at anatomy and perspective, if you don't know design.
Stylization is a language and you don't speak it. Learn design, visual rethoric and different aesthetic theories. THEN you will be able to communicate something with your art.
Is it possible to get good if you live in flyover country? None of the best artists or consumers of art live here and the "museums" and "artists" that are around where I live exhibit no discernible talent.

of course.
Hey guys, I'm just starting to learn portrait painting in photoshop, but noticed something off with my monitors when I pulled up my reference picture...Has anyone seen house of cards and know if the greenish tint on the left is an accurate representation of the show? I dont know which monitor to trust anymore. The one of the left is about 5 years newer but in terms of real life the one on the right looks more correct. Its thrown my confidence Im going to be painting any of the right colors on my laptop (new monitor) just in general at this point. Any input would be great if you have had similar issues.
The greys on your left monitor are yellow. Stands to reason your monitor is yellow. That said, every monitor is different, it's hard to make something that will be accurate, let alone suit any monitor it's brought up on.
I think it's safe to say neither of your monitors are right, and it's probably originally somewhere in between. Don't worry, this drives me crazy too, OP.
I thought both might be wrong but was hoping not haha oh well I guess nothing to do about it but paint what looks right on the monitor I have and be content with it for now tgabks for your input
buy a colorimeter
calibrate your screen
Does anyone have any of the watts atelier books and/or willing to rip and upload them?
there's a few on cg peers
so how is that "million dollar painting" coming along /ic/?

I´ve been putting less and less effort, favoring production.
Still, two-three days for each painting for another half dozen views and likes is fitting. Aiming to make them even faster, to make comics.

hahahahahahahaha
I made this. How do I make this better next time.
>>2325252
make it more rare
>>2325252
Make it harder.
>>2325252
next time you should try to be better at painting.
So! ic
wich ones are better when you are studying?
long extremely accurate studies?
or quick paintings but not with the full detail?
>>2325208
Both, now get back to studying.
>>2325208
Generally speaking, quantity over quality (length), it depends on what you're trying to learn though. Are you trying to learn construction? Do a fuckload of line drawings. Are you trying to learn how to render small details? Then you'll need to do a longer study to learn how to integrate the details into the whole image. etc. etc.
Make a schedule. Do both.
Opinions?
