Draw/paint a picture of yourself, then post it. Easy.
Spent about 8 hours on this using water-soluable oil paints on 18x24
Been painting since september and this piece has already been critiqued by my instructor but I haven't had time to work on it with my other classes. The one thing he didn't really critique was my colors, so if you see anything that looks off there please let me know.

All I ever wanted was to draw comics. Too bad I'll never be able to live off it.

Do what you do for yourself. If you focus on getting rewarded for everything you do with money and praise you won't go far.

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.

I'm not entirely sure what this is trying to say, but it's kinda neat. Internal conflicts surrounding substance abuse? Got any more images or a site?
Looking forward to be criticized. Really wanna improve. Thnks in advance guys.

I love mashiro ito's stuff
Is it worth it? I've always wondered what exactly was offered with the Fundamental classes.
i am also intrested in this class bump
>>2324722
it's on tbp, search schoolism and there's a torrent of a bunch of classes including that one
>>2324722
all of them are avaible on piratebay
What kind of program should I use to do that kind of drawing? I have a Wacom tablet
photoshop, manga studio, krita, paint tool sai, gimp, etc.
You'll quickly notice the program matters a lot less than your knowledge and ability.
>>2330747
I know, I use Sketchbook and it doesn't have the tools to do that kind of coloring. Thanks
>>2330752
I see absolutely no special technique in this painting, actually, it looks like the artist used just one simpre round, opaque brush, pretty much like traditional painting with acrylics or guache.
Uh, guys... the sticky disappeared.

Do these type of pens (like faber castell also and even cheaper sharpie pens or staedtler fineliner I think they are felt tip but idk) degrade pretty quickly for everyone or am I using them wrong?
After a couple hours of use I find that they just don't work as nicely, particularly in that after just a little bit of use you must hold them at a 90 degree angle to get any ink to come out and when it does it just doesn't seem as bold as it was when I first started using it and the ink seems to skip some if you go even slightly fast.
Is this normal or am I not using it right by pressing down too hard? It's kind of frustrating...
>>2329187
I've also used these faber castell pitt artist pens and the same thing seems to happen. Start out awesome but then they just don't seem as good. I really like the effect of using them on the side to vary thickness of line a little but that seems to stop working pretty quickly.
>>2329187
i get good use out of my copic fineliners. seeing as they're all i really use to draw traditionally with anyways. it seems the thinner they are the quicker they go out. so use the thinner ones for fine details so you can save them.
and i use .1 for general lines.
sometimes if you let them sit for a bit they work like they normally do.
>>2329189
>got the 4 PITT set
>only ever used the S and B
good thing i didnt fall for the 8 pack since they didnt even have it
Is there a reason to use photoshop when painting programs like krita are around?
Nope
>>2327316
/thread
>>2327314
photoshop's more powerful and has a lot more features but i'd love to see krita become more competitive, it's a fantastic concept. if devs who knew what they were doing came together im sure they could greatly advance krita in a few years

Since most of you posting here draw really good, could any of you give me some critique on this so i can improve it please?
Any suggestions before I start inking?

Not trying to be a dick, but I think you're still at the symbol drawing stage. Drawing from life might help
>>2326062
Trying to be a dick; you're about the same level as him so you shouldn't be telling him anything about symbol (meme) drawing.
Trying my hand at drawing reaction images, anyone interested? Also r8
>>2330669
use ms paint and stop shading
Not bad, but I don't think it looks iconic enough to become popular as a reaction.
The concept looks a bit forced and not so funny in my opinion, I mean, it tries too hard to convey the emotion.
I don't know, try for a more simple and authentic concept, based in real people expressions.
at what point does drawing start to feel natural? I've just recently (as in within the last few days) started to draw. I always did doodles in school but I've never been "technically" good at drawing, and I want to change that because I feel I'm a creative person. But right now it just constantly feels like I'm waiting to fuck up and restart. Nothing feels natural. They say anyone can draw as long as you practice... is this actually true? Is there hope for me? I just want to create nice things
depending on what level you want to get to it could take anywhere from a year to a lifetime. i personally feel like i have pretty high standards for myself and i'd say this is my fifth year pursuing art, second year taking it seriously and i'm only now starting to approach a point where i'm happy with my work. yes, practice and hard work pays off. its the fastest way to improve.
It'll take a few years.
I've been at it for a year and I'm starting to get some stuff come more intuitively when it comes to understanding forms and shapes, and I can get lines I want more quickly more regularly, but I'm still a long way off from what I see some people do where they just slap down all the lines they want on their first go consistently.
>>2330668
If you draw all the time it takes one year, but that's if you draw seriously and don't fuck around.
What are some good drawing apps for smartphones?
I got a stylus for Christmas and although my phone doesn't have pressure sensitivity it's very fun for sketching on the go.

Sketchbook ,artflow ,painter.
I suggest sketchbook if you're going to stick to animu drawings. It's pretty simple too.
