According to Vedic scriptures the highest spiritual platform is achieving God Consciousness by divine love of God. This spiritual platform of union with the Para Brahman is higher merging with the impersonal Brahman efflugence, which is what most people believe enlightenment or Moksha to be. While the scriptures sanction marriages and it's still possible to hold a marriage and progress spiritually, it's prohibited for those who have renounced life, the sannyasas. This is because material love results in an entangling relationship and family that can stall and slow spiritual practice. Additionally, the desire for love of another being is nothing more than an imperfect reflection of ones dormant love of God. Thus sannyasas are perfectly contented and without desire for a woman because they experience the divine love of God.

Why do poets/artists tend to be effeminate in history? To the point of statesmen/philosophers getting butthurt over their persistent 'muh feelings', melancholia or something like that. Why did this book, which is arguably one of the most important works about humanity of all time (alongside Origin of Species and Geneaology of Morals), get shoved under the rug by modern Academia?
It's methodology is also quite sturdy and valid, and it does not give bold open policy proposals (the author gets into that in the Book's sequel and maintains that the genders should have equal rights under the law).

If you're interested in your genealogy and want to learn more it is pretty useful. AncestryDNA is quite limiting if you care about information like Haplogroups, or health related data.
I think companies like 23andme have more people on them, so the relative finder tool can be quite useful, and you can download the data and upload it to gedmatch.
I'm not sure if you can do that with AncestryDNA.

The more I read about Benedict Arnold, the more I wish this guy had died from his wounds immediately after Saratoga. At least then, he'd be remembered as one of the great heroes of the American Revolution and not the turncoat scorned equally by colonists and Britons alike.
I had no idea until recently that the Battle of Valcour Island was probably the most critical battle in the Revolution before Saratoga. Had Arnold not thwarted the British there, it's very possible the northern and southern colonies would've been split into 2 and war for independence crushed.
Arnold was one of the best fighting commanders that the 13 Colonies had and it's revolting as fuck to find out that he sold out his brethren for money (and most likely his Loyalist wife's influence). I can sorta see why he turned traitor because stuff like Joseph Reed's witch hunt, Gates taking all the credit for Saratoga, and other mitigating factors poisoned his mind. If he didn't let that shit get to him and been a little more patient, Arnold would've been highly esteemed and probably even voted as a future President.
